killers without addons

99.9% of killers use addons to improve their power. I barely see killers without addons (game, twitch, youtube). what's the point of Devs designing killers when they are so dependent on their addons. it feels like the Devs are designing killers that are not that good without addons, but once you apply the addons they become way stronger. killers should not rely on their addons.

    Some killer need the addon like trapper bag but most of them dont need it but they use the addon in case they face a good team.

    Funnily enough, most Killers aren't realiant on Add-ons and their base power is strong enough. Exceptions are Trapper and Ghostface kinda. All other Killers are either difficult but still possible or just strong without Add-ons.

    People just like using them and why shouldn't they? They level up their stuff to use them and not stack them. And yeah, then there are those really outshining Add-ons where even I myself is thinking: "Why don't I use Alchemist Ring every match?" I could probably but I won't because I know how powerful that Add-on is. And there are many of those Add-ons and people use them because they are powerful and not because the Killer sucks without Add-ons.

    Those aren't even many. There are people with over a 1000 of some add-ons.

    I (mostly) only play Wraith & (mostly) only put on the Add-ons that i have the most of.

    As you can most likely guess, that means i (mostly) only use Common & Uncommon Add-ons.

    Especially with his Common Add-ons (which aren't all that great without combining them with specific Add-ons or Perks) it feels like you might as well pick nothing.

    Despite that, i'm having a good time in terms of results.

    Idk about other Killers (and to some this may seem like a bold claim), but Wraith is not Add-on dependant.


    Enough Add-ons do buff him greatly though, i won't deny that.

    I do not use add ons. I am too much of a hoarder to waste those. So, I obviously agree. It is kind of lame that I play a weak version of killers because they needed bloodpoint fodder and couldn't come up with anything better.

    I almost never use add-ons. In fact, I've gotten every killer's adept achievement without any add-ons, proving that killers are not designed to be reliant on them. They're just there to spice up the gameplay a little bit, and lots of people want interesting matches so they use their add ons.

    Ive faced 2 addon less trappers recently, my dog could have played and probably escaped.

    It's a good point, but players have different preferences and the addons allow you to play around with different builds, some of which are OP and would be broken if they were basekit.

    I play add on less and most killers need it.

    The only killer that seems good for good players without add ons:

    - Wraith

    - Oni

    - Blight

    - Spirit

    - Plague

    - Hillbilly

    - Huntress ( but sometimes I miss it gets ready to drop hatchet faster)

    - Deadslinger

    - Freddy

    - Pyramid head

    - Demogorgon

    - Twins

    The others would need rework or buffs to be played vs people who know how to play.

    Quite a bunch of Killers dont need Add Ons, IMO: Wraith, Billy, Nurse, Hag, Huntress, Freddy, Pig, Spirit, Demo, Oni, Slinger, Pyramid Head, Blight

    At least those are the Killers where I know that you can play them without Add Ons and do fine. Some others really need Add Ons like Trapper or Myers.

    But in general, I dont think it is bad that Killers need Add Ons. What would be the reason for Bloodwebs if Killers would not even need to do them (outside of Perks)? The only thing that should change is that some things should be looked at, e.g. Trapper should start with more Traps because he really has to rely on Bag Add Ons. Or Nemesis would be better with a higher base Mutation Rate and nerfed Mutation Rate Add Ons. Same for Ghostface and Night Shroud Recovery.

    Idk man, 12 out of 25 Killers is pretty much in the middle.

    Pig's cant do well vs good players even with add ons.

    Maybe one hag main can but I think if she doesnt use add ons have low chances.

    About Nurse....well playing her without greens her counter is just running straight

    I rarely use addons and don't see the problem with them.

    I use addons if I'm not familiar with the killer or if it's trapper.

    But I agree if all killers had a decent kit I would be happy, like no longer needing trapper sacs.
