You need to be injured

It only lights up when you’re running while injured. On pc you can press the run button (Shift) while standing still to make it light up.

e button on keyboard by default i think. control i have no idea. u gotta be injured tho. using it to dodge a hit is pointless and nobody actually uses it for it intended purpose. that will get u killed. use it for distance instead.

oh my god little soul
you are using sprint burst already
you cant use dead hard while exhausted because both are exhaustion perks
you can only use one (I like SB more)

Dead Hard is an exhaustion based perk, so it won't work whilst you are exhausted (you were exhausted from Sprint Burst).

Yeah, you have to be injured, running and, not exhuasted.
Also pro tip, use it to gain distance while you are still far enough away to not get hit, so you can make it to a pallet or window. Only use it to dodge if you absolutely have to because, it won't always work if you try to dodge a hit.

You see the Heart icon on the right side of your screen that has the red circle going around it? That is your exhaustion status. Sprint Burst, Dead Heard, Balanced Landing, Lithe, Head-On, Adrenaline, etc; are perks that cause the exhaustion status. Your exhaustion bar will only fill back up while you are NOT sprinting. Once that circle fills, you can use an exhaustion perk again. By default, most exhaustion perks at max rank take 40 seconds to "recharge". This is assuming you do not sprint for those 40 seconds.
Also, there is a neat/advanced play trick you can do with Sprint Burst. When you sprint this activates Sprint Burst if you are not exhausted, which then causes you to be exhausted. At this point you can do what is called, "99ing" your sprint burst. This means, when your exhaustion bar is almost full again, you can start sprinting to stop it and delay it filling back up. This gives you a bit of control of your Sprint Burst. Personally, until you are better at the game, I would recommend not using Sprint Burst, and sticking to Dead Hard. Also, Lithe is an even easier perk to use, albeit not as strong as say Dead Hard or Sprint Burst.
