Just like Nurse’s blink bug, if it’s something that doesn’t impact survivors negatively it’s going to be at the bottom of BHVR’s priority list.
What were your best memories of this once great killer?
I remember that I was doing killer rotations when I first started DBD. I liked Michael and Doctor a lot, but didn’t perform consistently well. Decided to try out Spirit - first game playing her is a 4K and I get hatemail from all 4 survivors. One of the best feelings I’ve had playing this game. 🙂

S Tier? She can’t hear footsteps and Iron Will is very common, so basically every game she’s facing invisible survivors while phasing. Scratch marks aren’t reliable enough to use her power vs an Iron Will user.
Players shouldn’t be required to have the hearing ability of a dolphin to play her at a normal level.

My hearing is bad, so honestly, she always plays like that for me and I never understood why everyone called her S tier. And then I remembered OTHER people didn't blow our their ear drums blasting death metal as kids. Silly me.

It has nothing to do with having good hearing because there is no sound to hear. There is no footstep sounds to possibly hear but as I have heard, they are working on a fix.
She’s still playable but it’s frustrating when you have no audio cues to work with :/

Spirit mains are the most dramatic player subdivision in the game, I swear lol.
"RIP Spirit," like she isn't still A-tier even without sound.
Just throw on Predator instead of Stridor (wow what a thought!) and stand still some more, and wait until the devs fix the bug.
Also I've hardly seen any Spirit sound complaints? Besides this one I've only seen one other, so I doubt the devs even noticed.

Which doesn't really effect her strongest, tournament-level gameplay style, short-burst-Spirit.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about the bug, but it's not that big a deal. Quick bursts and 50/50ing loops has always been her strong point. The bug just nerfs her already-self-nerfing long-burst playstyle.

This. A lot of people straight up don't play her or haven't played her since the last patch broke sounds. Footstep attenuation is horrendous across the board right now, and especially for Spirit since she doesn't hear them at all. I honestly don't see myself playing her outside of custom matches until Iron Will is changed. At least half of all survivors run it now, and there's no counter to it. A survivor can break LOS, start walking, and Spirit has zero feedback on their whereabouts because you don't need oxygen healthy or injured if you have Iron Will. Cool. Guess I got outplayed by randomly getting an indoor map vs 4 Iron Wills. No grass, phasing footsteps, or breathing. Skill issue.

Yeah your painting a pretty picture that you don't play Spirit or haven't put in the effort to learn other ways of tracking with her.
Scratch Marks aren't dependable, even with Predator they still aren't dependable. Scratch marks really mean "A survivor was/is hear" and they aren't good for tracking.
While you can do the other things you mentioned, the moment she presses M2, your back to being Hellen Keller with a sword.

The audio bug sucks but like I said I'm sure it will be addressed soon. That alone doesn't suddenly make her any less of an S tier killer.
Iron Will is something that has always existed. Not everyone uses Iron Will. Adapt to it. Learn to predict where survivors will go while you're phasing.
If it's that big of a deal then yes, go play another killer I suppose. That's what I do when Plague's puke doesn't register in matches and I can't play as my main. At least as Spirit my power still works somewhat though. You still zoom around and can end chases fast with proper prediction or, like I said not all survivors will run IW you'd be surprised. Like I know the majority do but lately I see 50/50 Iron Will personally.

I don't even know what is currently going on with Spirit, but this is something I can share.
Not many people know this, but I mained Spirit for some time. When BVHR ruined Freddy, I had no one to main. No one to have fun as.
Spirit presented herself as an alternate solution. And I took it with no hesitation.

What happened to Rin ? I don't think the Iron Will change did much to her if you played without Stridor already but maybe i'm missing some informations ^^

BHVR also stated “they’re working on it” for last gen optimization, so a good chunk of players have been SOL for a few months now.

On the killer designed to focus on the audio? Why would audio matter right?

Oh, I didn’t use Stridor either… but footstep audio is gone so if someone has Iron Will (which tons of survivors use) you can’t really track them. Scratch marks are super unreliable, too.
This “use her in short bursts” isn’t a solution… sometimes there are windows or walls so you have to go around objects which can make you lose a chase entirely.

Well Father’s Glasses addon exists I guess… But I don’t want to be forced run 1 or 2 perks and an add-on to compensate for BHVR’s mistake.

It's not a bug. You don't nerf the one perk that helps her counter Survivors and just randomly create a Bug where she can't use the perk or her power. It's intended so people stop playing her so the complaints stop. There's no problem if there's no complaints...
Spirit doesn't need changes in her ability to chase but that's what BHVR did, they gutted her ability to chase, Stridor didn't need a Nerf when there's only 1 killer who needs it consistantly and Iron Will sure as ######### didn't need to become Uncounterable.

Predicting Ghosts is quite hard mate...Phasing Spirit is like Legion when killer instinct doesn't procc, you're chasing nothing cause you have no tracking so you stop using Frenzy, eat the cooldown and start all over, gg ez in end game chat.

oh i didn't know there was an addon for it ! i guess Spirit is strong enough to even have a chance without perks but yeah this bug should be fixed for sure. Do you know for how long it's here ?

Maybe she shouldn’t see scratch marks either! Yeah, let’s make Spirit a fast but useless killer when using her power. That’s a great idea, buddy.
