What killer do you have the most sympathy for?

I really like the lore of DBD, so i thought i'd ask you guys which of the cast you have the most sympathy for. Undeniably a lot of the killers we have are quite tragic, normal people who lost their way or were scorned by circumstance and became murderers. There's a lot of room for sympathy for some of them. Personally for me its deathslinger, considering my family tree is full of Irish immigrants from back in the colonial days, i sympathize with Quinns struggles, he was constantly taken advantage of by his peers and his bosses, and his labor was never respected despite him being a genius engineer. He faced constant discrimination and was really never given the opportunity to live a good life. Compared to most other killers, you really can't help but cheer him on when he finally kills his scumbag boss and gets revenge for him essentially ruining a great life he could've had. I Feel pretty sad thinking about him.

probably either the spirit or the plague, neither of them feel like they would be a killer if ######### hadnt hit the fan for them.

Lisa and Billy. Billy is one of those killers in the game, who's got a variety of outfits with which you can make every Billy unique, and I like his story.

Hag is the cutest, no discussion.

Hag. It's just so awful how she was tortured and mutilated.

The Plague. A good person and faithful servant, who had good intentions, yet got corrupted by Entity's deception. You can see both in her bio and tome lore, that she is truly loves her mentor and cares for her people. Still, her faith in her gods is what ultimately led to her demise. Tricked by the Entity's signs, she did what she thought was the only right thing to do. She killed her mentor, as much as she didn't want to. She sacrificed herself, hoping to protect and save her people. If you think about it, she's one of the few original killers to date, who wouldn't actually kill anyone, if it wasn't for the Entity's direct influence on her.

If we are talking licensed characters - Bubba is a pretty tragic character too. A man with child's mind raised in a horrible family of cannibals, who only use and abuse him as they want. No love, no caring "family", just people he grew up around and had to stuck with, 'cause others would never welcome him.

Honestly Billy, to have a family that hid their own son from people because of deformation? ######### no.

2nd, I would say spirit because that is a thing that actually can happen.

    Wraith, Spirit, or Billy.

Wraith was tricked into doing horrible things and was taken by the entity shortly after he began to redeem himself denying his redemption.

Spirit is literally mind controlled into thinking that the survivors she's killing were responsible her and her mother's deaths.

Billy was just wronged since birth and if the entity allowed probably would be great friends with at least Claudette due to her borderline supernatural ability to empathize with the injured/Hurt(He has holes in his skin on his model).

Runner ups would probably be the Hag or the Plague:

They were both saved by the entity but were forced to become what would have killed them if it hadn't intervend

The hag was slowly tortured and eaten by cannibals and is now turned into a hag monster which eat humans.

The plague prayed for salvation for herself and her people but her gods didn't answer for so long the entity took over and saved them but forced her to spread the plague eternally.

The Twins' backstory got to me a little bit when I first read it because Charlotte's only purpose in life was to protect Victor.

When Victor died, she still cradled his motionless hand and would keep him warm.

Just before Victor was revived (presumably by The Entity), it mentions that "Charlotte felt something she had never experienced: acceptance. She closed her eyes, opening herself to the serenity of death." and then afterwards Victor starts shrieking and runs off.

I wonder if the Entity had a little sympathy for these two killers, because it mentions acceptance (which was something that Charlotte and Victor lacked back in Marseille).

I could be wrong though but it's an interesting theory I came up with.

Hag was literally chained in a basement and slowly eaten alive by cannibals while surrounded by the remains of their other victims. If there is any killer whose tragic past I could undo, it would be hers.

Billy. Him killing his parents and the police officers was completely justified because his parents made him the serial killer the way he is now. He was born inbred, and was locked in a room for what would've felt like an eternity.

Has to be Hillbilly. Locked up and mistreated by his own parents just because he was born disfigured.

Amanda/the pig. She was badly abused her entire life and fell into drugs and self harm. There are people like that irl which makes her come off more tragic than terrifying.

    Hillbilly

A lot of the killers were given bad hands or had something terrible happened to them, but Hillbilly didn't even have a hand, he didn't really have a chance at life. Take Spirit for example, yeah she was killed by her father in a disgusting manner but before that she had a perfectly fine life. All Hillbilly had was being trapped in a box until he could fight back and killed his parents, then all he knew was kill outsiders.
