Aight wait is the game actually going downhill now?
With MMR being added in "indefinitely" I know that alotta people are gonna "derank" to get more fun killer matches.
Now I'm not saying it's an ok thing to do, but I will say that killer is absolutely horribly unfun with mmr as on a killer you're good with you must run like what 2 - 3 slowdowns? And even then it's not fun because every survivor predrops and W keys and due to map design there's literally no skill required.
This is the most I've been concerned for the game because while most issues in the past were big viability issues (like old MoM, old DS, etc) but this is both a viability and a fun issue. The only reason people play this unbalanced of a mess game is because matchmaking helps add weak players in teams and because it's incredibly fun.
I am usually one to jump the gun in terms of balance, hell I thought that desperate measures was gonna be HARD meta, but I've never jumped the gun on what could start killing the game.
THIS could be the start. 2 very good devs leaving, mmr being added on forever, what's next?

It was going downhill HARD around 2018-2019. Current dbd is going uphill by a landslide, as much as we are allowed to hate on this game its in a good place right now, and the devs are trying hard to make it better. Things can always get worse sure, but the trend right now is leaning towards a better future for dbd. Maybe a less content full future, but nontheless a better future.

I mean, they added in a mechanic that 99% of the community didn't want, in fact I doubt they listen to the community at all. This MMR will make playing killers you are good with a pain because while it does get harder, it also becomes more BS with how unbalanced the game is.

wdym going downhill hard around 2018-2019?
2018 was the year that they removed a majority of pallets, removed pallet vacuums and updated a lot of perks that are seen in the meta today, we also had some of the best events such as Howling Grounds, Summer BBQ, Hallowed Blight and Winter Solstice 2018
2019 had again a good batch of events, some pretty amazing killers, the long waited DS change, and even The Endgame Collapse
While the game balance wise is definitely at its peak, I feel the connection between the community and devs is no where near as strong as it used to be

99% lol, are you. Joking it was more a 50 50 for people.
12 -
It's definitely not 99% of the community who are against it. People have done polls and it's usually around 50/50

You're gonna have smurfs no matter what. This system simply helps the people who aren't smurfing be put in the right place.

My observation is that it's the top ranked people who don't want it. Since I play middle ranks, and had a better time when MMR was on, I'm all for it. No, I didn't win all the matches with MMR on, but they were qualitatively more enjoyable matches that didn't feel like a landslide in either direction. I can always tell when I'm against a red rank killer, and I'm not up to it.
Honestly, I can see the complaint that is being made. Playing at the highest skill levels doesn't give you a break, you're always against other players at the highest skill levels. Most of your losses or disappointments will go to RNG or bad luck or connection issues. I'm not sure how the developers address that. If you really are the best in your role, shouldn't you go against the best at the other role? If they let you go against much lower ranked enemies, you're just going to easily beat them, so how is that fun?

"With MMR being added in "indefinitely" I know that alotta people are gonna "derank" to get more fun killer matches."
They will "derank" automatically. Most Killers are boosted into Ratings where they dont belong because they constantly face weak Survivors.
Give SBMM one or two weeks and most players should be where they belong.

2018 to 2019 was the best time for DbD.... What you mean is DbD is getting more content now than ever which is true but the game itself is getting worse and worse. Console didn't get any single improvement whatsoever. The only improvement we got was Next Gen consoles not borking so hard when compared to the now old gen but BHVR even managed to bork new gen consoles as hard with the RE chapter release. I stopped DbD on console because of this... My PS5 runs better than ever sinc ei unninstalled DbD from it.

That doesn't solve the high rank issues.
The game is remarkably boring and miserable the better you get.
3 -
This will not be relevant for 99,99% of the playerbase.
5 -
It'll be relevant for a lot of content creators which will hurt the game's image.
2 -
I dont think that a lot of Content Creators are at that high level play. Only because they say they are at that level does not make them that good.
Also, ScottJund tested it with the latest SBMM-Test - he played Demo, which he was playing for months already while not losing many games, so his MMR will have been high. And he still said that his games felt alright.
6 -
How do you know that 99 percent didn't want? With random statements like this your comments and posts have absolutely no weight.

MMR would be fun it there was ranked and unranked play with ranked limiting SWFs to just be 2 per match, or just drop it altogether.
I'm a red rank survivor and killer. I play solo survivor and when all survivors are red ranks you don't need comms, everybody knows what they are doing. Leave squads for unranked

That's assuming it was working correctly.
And if it was, that's assuming it will continue to work.
Most, if not all, of my matches were complete sweatfests. I enjoyed approximately 5 of them.

Otz did say the Nemesis 50 win streak was probably the last he was ever going to be able to accomplish as MMR would make it almost impossible
3 -
Of course, because Otz will face Survivors who are actually at his Skill Level. His Winstreaks are only possible because he is way better than the average Survivor.
My games were alright. Billy was a little bit hard and Nurse was way too easy, but everything else was alright.

Otz is not an amazing survivor and i remember watching him being visibly annoyed during the latest MMR test because he pretty much only went against the same gamer Blights. It was so high MMR that he got matched in the same lobby more than once with his other friend Hens despite them not being SWF.
DBD is not a high skill game, especially for survivors. I don't know where this made up 99% statements come from.

Every one of my games was extremely difficult.
That isn't to say I lost every game, just that every game was significantly more stressful and essentially forced me to sweat for a win.
That isn't fun.
I tnought this was supposed to be a casual game.
1 -
Imagine putting a ranked system on a "casual game" not competitive right?
2 -
Yeah breaking almost all versions of the game is a "good place"

This has been claimed since the game launched. I'm going to learn from history and say "no".

Sorry but, the priority is making the game fun for the masses and not everyone is a top tier rank 1 or even a poop rank 1.
The MAJORITY of people ENJOY SBMM. I'm sorry it sucks for you, not even being sly or mean or snarky.
but it's their job to make sure the game is fun for people and most people enjoy SBMM better.
