Edit: If you want to leave a comment, don't talk [BAD WORD] about a specific streamer. I'm pretty sure mentioning people by name is against the rules on the forum, so you might get in trouble with the mods.

Yes. If a streamer (who has a lot of hours) has an opinion about the game, I tend to trust their opinion (on things like balance, strategy, perk strength/weakness, etc.).
In addition to my vote (#1 "Yes, if a streamer.. blabla"), I do not have the same opinion on every single aspect of the game or about changes of the game... but in general I try to get a different point of view and think about it. Deciding then if I can agree or not. Of course I take a lot of stategy ideas.

That's fair. 👍

Streamers provide evidence, both intentionally and accidentally. Their opinions have little sway, only their trials.

No. Streamers are just gamers like any of us. Our playstyles might be different, so I take their views with a grain of salt.
I've found through randomized builds that having the meta some streamers say is necessary isn't actually needed at all. With decent skill, you can survive against the most meta of killer builds or the strongest of survivor builds.
Also, their opinion and mine may be completely at odds. It's not because one of us is right and the other isn't, moreover the reason is because of different ways at looking into a problem and understanding it's not a one solution fits all.
Streamers can be fun to watch, and I especially enjoy HybridPanda and Otz, but I don't hang on their every word since my experiences would be different to theirs and what they base their opinions on.

A lot of streamers tend to have educated opinions on the game that have helped me grow as a killer and survivor. A lot of the skill i've gained over my years of playing DBD is because of streamer tips. Of course nowadays im mostly knowledgeable enough to do all that myself, but they are a pretty important part of helping newer players grow and learn. They also keep me entertained with DBD related content when im not in the mood to play myself. Plus they have loud voices, a good streamer can mean good choices are made in the name of the community by BHVR.

Yes. When I get sick of this game, or it's just not fun, seeing a streamer having fun makes me want to play again.
That's probably the most accurate statement for me. Streamers do not tend to influence my opinions much. Sure we might think and say basically the same thing, but it's an instance of us both coming to the same conclusions in our own way - the thoughts behind opinion on why this is balanced and that is too strong are always my own. My playstyle, though, is a bit of a mixed bag. I surely get influenced to an extent by other streamers in that regard (say some of them found a new tech or came up with a great build I never thought of), but a lot of that also comes from the personal experience. Besides, there aren't that many overarching playstyles - you either play casually 'cause you want to play, or you use any means necessary in order to always get 4k/escapes 'cause you are competitive like that for some reason.
BUT coming back to the chosen option - that's very true. I might lose a game or two or ten and exit the game, wishing I never wasted my time on this bs. Still, some time later I would open up YouTube/Twitch and see my favourite content-makers do exciting and fun stuff in this game, which in turn would motivate me to come back and try out new stuff i saw them doing, despite me wanting to delete the game completely just an hour ago. And I believe that a lot of other people are the same way.

I pick up tricks and techniques from Streamers, but nothing more.
I learned a couple mindgames from watching content creators, but I tend to form my own opinion. Of course if someone has good arguments i won't mindlessly stick to mine.

I respect their opinions but also take them with a grain of salt. I'm probably not going to do a 180 on my own opinion based on watching a streamer, but sometimes they make a good point.

Always good to learn things from streamers, but you should avoid forming your opinions as carbon copies of theirs'.
When new to the game, I took a lot of what some streamers said almost as objective fact, and looking back on some of those things now, I couldn't have disagreed with them more.

I watch streamers for some tips and honestly I don't stay with the Big Names too often. I prefer the small streamers where you don't get lost in chat and can actually have a discussion. I mean, at this point I have 4 years in game, so I have formed my own opinions. Streamers are for fun
Although I will leave a stream if the streamer is "toxic" or a cheat.

I don't let them usually influence my opinion, but if the person with 5000 hours is aware of something it is probably correct, that is how I see it.

That's a very fair, reasonable take.

That's a very good point. Especially if you watch a lot of streamers, you'll notice they can have drastically different opinions on the same issue. It's good to hear their thoughts, but people don't have to accept them as fact.

If a streamer I watch has a good suggestion or idea I'll consider it, but sometimes their ideas suck and you shouldn't be afraid to say so just because you like their content.

Yeah. I've watched streamers whom I like and tend to agree with take vastly different opinions on things. Both have played for years, 8000+ hours in the game, both Fog Whisperes, etc. Sometimes opinions are going to differ because of personality, play style, etc. I don't like unhealthy skepticism, and I don't like blind following. It's a balance.

Yeah, I feel I value watching them play and then seeing the result as opposed to agreeing with what they say.

Yes, I am quite new to the game so I watch a lot of streamers and take advice from them and try out what perks they recommend etc.

Even if it's Otz, even if it's Dowsey. Like you said, they're just players like me.
I tend to have very strong disagreements with Otz, particularly with his community-made patch video. As well as how he approaches the game.
Even though I agree with Dowsey on a couple of things (like the "Survivors, I'm not your friend") video. I don't necessarily let myself be swayed by his opinions on the game. If anything, I often am more defensive with him.

I always like to learn little tips and tricks about the game (think about things like totem placements, hiding your red stain, perk builds that sound fun to try out etc...)
Mostly I follow DbD content creators for these little tidbits of info and to see other people enjoy the game as much as I do.
Of course, I will take any opinion with a grain of salt and figure my own ideas out. Afterall this is a video game, opinions and play styles will differ.
For such a seemingly 'toxic' community, I think we've done a pretty good job so far (there's still a lot do to, but it's going ok.)
Bonus Blood Points if you got the McCote reference ;)

Yeah, I've picked up good tricks from my favorite streamers, but I've also seen them take drastically different opinions on the same issue.

Streamers like Otz know à hella lot of the game and ill always take tips n tricks from them
But when they have à thought on something ill not just blindly follow , ill think myself about it and my personnal experience
And everyone should do that instead of doing stuff like "Otz couldnt beat this one survivor, it proves he is over powered and blablabla"

Are you talking about when Otz does his 50 Win Streak videos? Meaning, when he's playing a match that might break his streak, people say "Otz is struggling to get this challenge done so that proves this perk/map/item is OP."

I've decoupled a lot of my playstyle and opinions from those of streamers. Personally aside of using them as news source to kept abreast of what is going on with the game when I'm not playing they're not offering a lot of opinions that I haven't already come to beforehand and dbd is such a threadbare game in terms of techniques worth learning and using for the vast majority of players it usually just gets in the way. Sometimes I'll poach a monto meme build from his youtube when games are comfortable enough that I can actually meme and still get a lot of bp.

I don't watch streamers.
No.
I'm not fan of streamers.
"Influencers"...I mean come on...😂 give me strength.

I would say both 2 and 3 because on 2 I learn ways that might be good to use the killer and on 3 I just watch people like demi for fun
