Too many Lag spikes on Ps4.
Everytime i get near any survivor there are huge spikes of lag, near window hops, whenever bloodlust pops, when i swing on them, they break a hook, Dead hard, basically any action a survivor takes or i take near them the game has a huge heart attack or hiccup, i have a ps4 pro, with a 250 mbps connection, and no matter what, it always has hiccups, all the time, making the game basically unplayable as a killer.
its just completely unfair, that no matter what i do its just seems to be the ps4 version in general.
on pc or ps5, this isnt the issue, its just a ps4 thing, and the hiccups are way too common.
almost always in favor of the survivor.

its frustating as hell though as a killer, especially with the GUARANTEED bloodlust tier 1 lag spike. i hate that
i've had this issue for about a year now, and its god awful, and put me off the game, because it just feels terrible to play
matches feel cheap and frustrating, and i cant even do much because of it. its mostly just any interaction with a survivor that causes it, but yesterday it even happened with a gen finished, which spiked my catch away from me so hard i flew 10 feet, xD

Its still an issue on ps5 and pc. To us, its a solid five seconds of freeze, to them, it looks like we're teleporting around.

the servers, or peer to peer hosting has been extremely bad since the nemesis release, its gotten to be unplayable.

I agree. Its so unbelievably frustrating that they refuse to fix this. The bug has been around for way too long. Since it appeared they've released a ton of new cosmetics and announced a whole new chapter with ptb, but no fix. Its clear where their priorities lie.

the focus of the game kind of caters towards the survivor end, as the player base is bigger for survivors on streaming stuff.
so it leans toward the side that survivors get some better advantages, like the killer being unable to play.
lag is a great tool.

You obviously don't play survivor if you think freezes only affect the killer.

I play both roles pretty regularly on PS4 and can support this statement. Freezes affect both roles. It can seem worse for killer because you are solely responsible for completing the objective, but freezes during skill checks or while trying to keep an eye on the killer during chase is still very frustrating.

i have had freezes, but mostly only a milisecond before a skill check pop up. and that breaks it all the time.
trying to do skill checks with the issue, is pretty obnoxious

It's a known issue, there are a few threads about it on the support forums https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2466282 Lots of thread on reddit as well.
They've known about this since mid-June and there's still no fix. It's appalling that a game breaking bug has been left unfixed for this long.
Maybe I'm overreacting, but I think the game should be taken down from the PlayStation store until this is dealt with. It makes killer unplayable. The game is broken.

"unplayable" yeah, i mean as long as you dont attempt to do anything at all, you can walk around and stuff.
but then again, if you so much as glance at a survivor as the killer, you'll warp 10ft away to timbuktu

It makes playing the game as any role horrible. I sometimes have games that aren't affected as much. I wonder why that is. It feels like sometimes it is bad, sometimes worse and sometimes it is so bad I'd just like to dc but kill myself on first hook instead. I was trying to figure out if there is any clue as to why the amount and impact of lags, teleports and freezes differs, but I am not sure if there is something to it or if it just feels like it's worse if I am going against people that live further away.

the hook skill check lags though, they are a massive pain, especially on the last hook

They should really at least disable dc penalty as long as they haven't fixed those long term issues on console. Like, do they really expect us to play like that? At this point to me it feels like they are trying to get rid of console players. All they care about is getting new killers out (that I don't even care for, like who would feed them money at this point?) and getting lots of money from those willing to give it to them. Someone probably knows for long it's been that bad on console. I don't know exactly, but it feels like most of 2021 it was bad on console, if not unplayable. All in all just a horrible experience.
I am very angry and dissapointed at this point.

licensed killers probably eat up chunks of money, kind of why they are removing stranger things.
if 1 does it, iam sure any other licensed killer is now possibly able to just get taken down.
Most of dead by daylights community streamers seem to be on PC, as on console, its in a really terrible state.
