Recording with NVIDIA Shadowplay Causes Laggy Recording
Okay so I used to use OBS to record all my videos, but I recently found out YouTubers like No0b3 and Ayrun use Shadowplay, so I started using it, but I found out my gameplay is super choppy. I've tried looking at YouTube tutorials, changed game settings, but nothing seemed to really help.
My PC Specs are:
CPU Intel Core i7-9700K https://amzn.to/38QbijF
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo https://amzn.to/3hvABMb
Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z390 https://amzn.to/3rIzuxl
RAM: TEAMGROUP 16GB https://amzn.to/3rGlT9H
Hard Drive Western Digital 2TB https://amzn.to/3rFNZBM
SSD: TEAMGROUP 512GB https://amzn.to/3pCaZzM
GPU: ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2060 https://amzn.to/2Lc9mu0
Case: AeroCool Cylon RGB https://amzn.to/2Mayq4P
Power Supply: Segotep 600W 80 Plus Gold https://amzn.to/38MoiXH
Any help? Thanks!

Well what is your resolution, and have you custom configured your framerate in the settings for shadowplay?

Try recording to the other hard drive, the one that doesn't have DBD on it. And yeah, wind down the framerate.

1920x1080 and no I haven't tried that. But I'll try recording to the SSD instead

Okay I tried changing my fps to 60 but it was too laggy for me so I put it back, what should I do now? I've thought of upgrading to 32GB Ram. Would this help my issue?

I'm unsure, but I run on 32GB of ram and it's just fine.
Important bits being a 1TB SSD, 32GB ram, Ryzen 7 3700x, Nvidia 6GB GTX 1660, fan cooled. Playing dual screen with the monitor I play on at 1920*1080.
He may not get back to you quickly, but I'll tag @KhaineGB because he's the tech wizard and is pretty good at these things

Weird, I don't have issues on shadowplay other than taking like 2 minutes to complete.
Have you tried setting a limit to the recording? It might not have anything to do but I have it at 30 minutes and I don't see any choppiness

Did you have issues with OBS? Because it's far better than shadowplay. You can still use your video card's NVENC encoder.

I think I found the issue. I was playing my recordings on the "Movies & TV" program and it was choppy, but I put it in Premiere and prerender it, and it looks fine. I guess it was just lagging because Movies & TV isn't powerful enough to run it smoothly

Also, OBS isn't better. Shadowplay has much higher quality and it doesn't use much performance on your GPU
