Peanits, what's the truth?
@Peanits In the 5.2.0 developer update, you said that you will take the data from SBMM to do balance changes for killers, using the stats from the top 5% of players.
But....in the recent past you guys said you won't balance this game for the top % of players.
So, what's the truth? What do you mean as "winning"?

Not balancing for the top 5% doesn't mean you need to ignore them. If nurse suddenly had a 100% win rate in the top 5% it would be good to know.
That or they changed their mind. They also said we wouldn't have a clown killer.
Also machine. Definitively machine

I think it's time to rage against the machine.
and who ispeanis?

I would be very skeptical of this. The majority of players are average at best, and you can 100% tell the game currently is and has always been balanced for and around average players. I hope it is the truth though because playing most of the killer roster against skilled survivors is not a fun, or even a semi fair experience atm.

Killer is just very unfun currently, and I hope SBMM fixes this. I've had matches where I easily annihilate 2-3 people, then the last Survivor(s) is just the most slippery thing in the world and I'm barely able to kill them, and in post-game I realize that they're a Red Rank with a full Meta build and the other Survivors barely even had Level 3 Perks (this just happened in the last match I played). I'm Rank 6, and had a Rank 16, Rank 13, Rank 11, and a Rank 2.

You can't handle the truth

"You're a machine Connor, just a machine"

In the dev update, the commentary about the top 5% was given as an example of how they might use the data generated by the SBMM.

"SBMM will also allow us to collect more detailed statistics for our design team to work with (e.g. seeing how a perk or power performs among the top 5% of players). This data will allow us to make more meaningful tweaks and balance decisions in the future." That is what was said: Context matters.
- They never mentioned killers
- They didn't say the top 5% would be used to balance gameplay overall.
If you are going to quote someone - quote them - do not alter their words to suit your narrative. Reading comprehension matters as does honesty in stating what someone said.

They probably changed their mind. People are allowed to change their mind.

That's not what the Developer Update actually said, please note there was an example given.
Having more balanced matches - where players are of equal skill, is going to allow our Designers to adequately see things on both sides not just killers. It will give them a much better idea of where issues are and what needs to be changed/balanced...it won't just be fixated on the top percentage of players, but it will allow them to look at things in categories for all players.

YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT I DID!

From a game like Rainbow Six Siege, but also DBD itself, I know that something can be "perfectly" balanced, but extremely frustrating to go against if you don't have a team, or simply unfun, or frustrating if you're a new player.
Is this what was actually meant for "we don't want to balance for top 1% of players" ?
Because I know that it is totally possible to have something balanced/fair for both sides, but at the same time available consistently against the the best players.

Player feedback has been doing that for years. It's not MMR/SBMM that now suddenly makes any Balance issues appear, they've been there and we've been vocal about them. Relying solely on Data is why the issues aren't solved. For such a niche game, you guys are lucky to have so manny dedicated and skilled players who constantly give you all the info and feedback you could hope for. There's a reason most people Believe Feedback doesn't matters and that's because the course of actions is always DATA, DATA, DATA feedback here or there. Want a gigantic example of BHVR and Players disconnect? The HUD Changes, nobody asked for it, they went ahead and the backlash was there so the HUD had to be changed again. It appears you only listen to feedback when the uproar is too big to ignore...
Also where's Q&A and testing? How come players are always the ones reporting the issues? How could RE Chapter have such a poor launch? Was none of it tested on Consoles? Cause that's exactly what it looks like. There's no way you guys tested it on Console and had no issues like everyone did at launch.
I understand if you can't or don't wanna answer but alot of what you guys say it's honestly very hard to trust or believe in because the past experiences are pretty bad. Even the Focus on the bigger events was proven to be a total joke, the annyversary event was a copy and paste job. It's pretty damn hard to take anything you guys say seriously.

Ah i love the detroit become human reference

They changed their mind, what’s wrong with that?

only by a very broad and therefore not very useful definition of machine

They actually did test RE on Consoles, as in the Patch Notes, there were known issues for Xbox One.
Not sure if it's better or worse that they did test it and pushed it out anyway.

I hope the new data allows them to have a hard look at some of the killers and perks.
If a new Wraith is suddenly playing against some teams with way more experience, it should be a big red flag.

Well whatever problem they had was definetly not enough to cause concern then or it was and it was ignored. Either way we're still in the Dark since thye don't communicate that stuff.

In the words of Scott Jund during his Developer Update video (not verbatim): “I just don’t believe them.”
3 -
Your first mistake is expecting BHVR to be transparent.

Well, finally something with a sense Sluzzy XD
As solo survivor it sucks to play against ruin undying corrupt every match, and occasionally like ring blight, mother daughter ring, etc.
