Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Would you guys rather have a B tier Killer that's really fun to play as and against or would you rather have a new S tier Killer but they're really unfun to play as and against. I'm curious to know what you guys think about this!

Depens on the power. Someone might think both powers are fun.

I main Trapper and Plague, so I'm definitely a B-Tier kind of guy.

Killer should always be fun first strong second

B tier for sure. If a Killer isn't fun to play, then why play them?

With that being said though, I gotta say- I will agree that some of the past few Killer haven't really hit either mark with me, so I can see the complaints.

B tier but fun, i prefer things being fun for both sides rather then a curb stomp for one person

B Tier but fun. S tier killers are usually very technical but get results most of the time once you are good with them. B tier killers though take time to master, and then still reward or are fun to play for a long time to me. They also usually have fun build potential

    B-Tier.

There are already strong Killers in the game which are not really fun to play, e.g. Hag. Nobody can say she is weak, she is one of the strongest Killers, yet, you dont see her, because she is not fun to play.

Meanwhile, some weaker Killers are really fun to play.

As long as it's not Trickster that is not strong or fun i'll be happy.

Fun should always triumph over viability. A killer doesn't need to be good as long as they are fun, but generally being strong helps make them fun. You need a good balance of both.

If you're stomping match with a strong killer that is unfun to play, then what's the point? Just because you lose doesn't mean you don't have fun.

B tier. Killer variety is always nice.

I agree just because you lose doesn't mean you don't have fun. However it's pretty hard to have fun if you don't stand a chance. That's what I'm arguing. Also this game is 1v4. The killer is supposed to be stronger because they are out numbered. 1 survivor is not meant to be able to stand up to any killer.

A killer can be dumpster tier but so long as they have a unique and relatively balanced concept I’m cool

Depends on your definition on b tier.

That the thing a killer who is fun but you get destroy every match is not fun to play at least for me so i will take the S tier killer anytime

why shouldnt the fun killers be strong too?

Lessening the gap between the killer tiers or reducing the number of tiers should be as important as that solo-swf gap.

Killer should be fun and strong, but that’s never going to happen. Just look at wraith, a really simple killer with 1 simple power but survivor mains think he op and need nerfs. To please the survivors mains they going to keep making weaker killers like trickster and nemesis that take multiple hits to down with their power lol. Next killer is just going to repair gens for the survivor mains

I main Ghostface... Take a guess!

In all seriousness, fun is the most important aspect of a killer for me. If they aren't fun, I am not going to play it. Luckily most killers are fun.

Nurse is my example of an unfun S tier killer. I’d totally pick a fun B-tier killer.

    B tier fun.

s tier is nice and all but I’m not trying to 4K every game.

I think the perfect balance of fun and powerful is best showcased by Oni and that's a model all killers should be shaped after in terms of fun = strength

B-tier, easily. A killer that's balanced and fun for both sides? I'll pick that any day over an unbalanced S-tier killer that is unfun to go against.

A killer that not OP in chase but have passive map pressure is fun. Nemesis and Pinhead are the two. They know a longer chase doesnt hurt Gen speed as the others.

You know, a streamer brought up a good point. He mentioned that a lot of people kind of ignore the fun aspect of dbd and jump onto the S tier killers just because they're strong. Even then I personally find it less rewarding to play top tier killers who wipe the floor with the survivors without hardly breaking a sweat and more rewarding to play a weaker killer who has to work twice as hard to wipe even a fraction of the floor with survivors.

Streamer in question mentioned what you should really be aiming for is a killer you just find fun despite the tier listing and I agree. So my answer is pretty obvious here also as a lover of Legion who is no secret they're not top tier but I have so much fun with them. Seeing a Bill teabag because hey, it's just a crummy lil Legion they ain't #########. Only to die a few moments later and your team only managed to get one gen done cuz I busted my hump not giving you survivors a breath of fresh air because massive pressure for Legion is huge so you just looked hella dumb popping spammy squats. It's satisfying and just fun.

So B tier all the way.

Why can a strong killer not be fun to play and face? It sounds more like a survivors fun is now determined by their ability to dominate a match than allowing a strong killer into the roster.

People will always choose the fun option, because that is what they want to get out of a game.

Would you rather have a S killer that is fun to play as and against or an unfun F tier killer that isn't fun to face... guess what....

This is such a framed query...

All killers should be fun and if they are not fun even for their niche then they aren't designed properly.

There's simply no point in playing with a killer who can never beat survivors who are actually trying.

Its why people see so many of the same killers is just the fact that there are too few viable ones.

    B tier every single time.

I'll take a killer that can perform well at base kit over another "fun" killer like twins or trickster.

I find killer Fun is control over situations; not giving survivors a massive window to taunt and antagonize every time killer attempts to use their core features.

  • UnknownKiller
    UnknownKiller Member Posts: 3,024

That would be very diff as you cannot make all powers equally good but killers should be always +B to S and it would be good.

  • UnknownKiller
    UnknownKiller Member Posts: 3,024

Then complain that the new killer make them depip cuz they can get points in repairing lol

  • UnknownKiller
    UnknownKiller Member Posts: 3,024

I would say demo is the best example he can move whenever he want and his shred help on chases while one just can move like that while on rage and just help is surv is outpositioned sometimes his lunge help though.

Becuz powers are different is harder to say that blight power is equal to trappers power there will be S tier power and B tier power.

B tier. It's a game, fun is of the utmost importance.

    Bingo.

Killers should be a fun challenge to go against

  • Ruma
    Ruma Member Posts: 2,069

You can balance everything out if you spent enough time so they get on a level where they are equally strong.

It doesnt matter if their power is completely different.

Sure some killers should have weaknesses and strenghts but it always have to be balanced out by something else.

I like fun killers who are also strong. Sadly there aren't many killers in the game like that.

    Fun from who's perspective?

Cause "fun" from survivor POV is just someone they can curbstomp

  • lemonsway
    lemonsway Member Posts: 1,169

I'd rather have a killer that can do something regardless of fun. Fun is subjective. Killers should be objectively capable of winning even the toughest situations, which currently only 1 killer can, Nurse, and you must be equally though as a Nurse to win those tough situations.

Every Killer we have gotten since The Twins hav been C tier at best (including Pinhead). I'd really enjoy a Killer that's better than one that gives free health states
