The real problem behind this sudden surge in cheating (again)
First of all, the anti-cheat for this game, it sucks and needs updating.
But more importantly, the cheaters are somehow preventing you from actually reporting them. They sort of "disguise" their profile with someone else's, so that you report the wrong person. And keep in mind, this happens IN game, idk how but it does.
The match I just had there was a Jane who dead harded... twice.
I even recorded her cheating, but it doesn't even matter. I can't even report the player who is cheating.
This needs to be fixed. If the anti-cheat engine takes a longer time to update, then at least make it to where cheaters can't hide their profiles.
EDIT: I am currently being targeted by some cheater I upset a while ago lol, people seem to really be hating on my profile atm, however if this happens to you there is no reason to be alarmed. You can't get banned for this happening to you.

Behavior needs to start bricking PC's of cheaters. This way If you want to cheat, you gotta buy a new computer Everytime you wanna play DBD.
1 -
You do know that's illegal, whereas cheating is not, right?
9 -
What exactly is bricking a PC?
0 -
Bricking a PC is basically breaking it
Like if you were to download something that 'bricked' your PC it essentially kills it
1 -
Bricking a console or PC basically means you can't use it anymore. Microsoft and Sony Brick consoles that have been Jail breaked (modded) so they can't access the online features ever again. Now when I say bricked I mean kind of like what overwatch does. Where if one profiles gets banned for cheating the whole PC can never play overwatch again. I think it was overwatch anyways
1 -
Oh ok thanks
1 -
Making it unusuable, which means it's comparable to a brick.
6 -
That's a hardware ban, it's something very different from bricking.

Tomato, Tomato

It isn't Overwatch. I (sadly) know of several cheaters in OW that just purchased a new copy of the game on a new Bnet account and were right back to playing.
I believe Blizzard did try that at one point in the past, but there were upcoming legal issues for families that share a PC, have different Bnet accounts on it for individual family members, and so forth. Either way, it isn't a current thing for OW.

More like tomato, engine. They're not the same, at all.

Blizzard failing at things? I'm Shocked, oh well, we can rebuild. The power of the sun In the palm of my hand.

Blizzard is falling apart right now. I've played their games since 1994, and at this point even I'm not sure they're not going to eventually just be absorbed by Activision and disappear as a brand at some point down the line. Given current events for them, constantly falling MAU's, slow releases, there is no way Activision is happy with them or the brand.
4 -
Whatever the point still stands that the Anti cheat sucks. And needs a valid replacement. I don't know what but something has to give here.

"Bro but the world of warcraft is going offfffff" I don't care for Blizzard not do I care for Activision. Since Call of duty is as stale as moldy bread, and Overwatch isn't something I like playing alone. Best case scenario they implode and it all seeps into Valve.

Just buy a console.

I'm almost 50, so I remember when Blizzard was a good brand with very fun games.
I left WoW during BFA and uninstalled. Hearthstone is not for me. I did my time in Magic and such a long time ago, not interested in going back. Heroes of the Storm was "okay," but MOBAs are not for me. And, I played their RTS games when they first came out a long time ago, those days are in the past. As for Diablo, I'm not a huge fan of loot grinders anymore. That, too, has passed.
Nowadays, Overwatch is the only thing on my Bnet launcher, and I only play that game if the six-stack Friends & Family group is on. It's a social thing, and we just putz around in Quick Play Classic and Mystery Heroes for an hour or two, when we do play.
But, as I said, we're a six-stack of friends and my adult kids. So the change to 5v5 in Overwatch 2 eliminates that. So, once OW2 releases, that's the end of us and Blizzard games.

And play at the 30 FPS with a dark ass television color correction that I already play at? And all the frame drops and lack of graphic options and No Nvidia filters to make the game not an oil spot. I wouldn't wish them to come suffer with us.
3 -
No anti-cheat on the planet can account for cheats that don't exist yet. Cheats come before anti-cheats can account for them, like vaccines.
3 -
I just said that because I'm constantly told to just buy a PC when we discuss any problems on console. But it does make me laugh that PC players spend so much more for their frame rates.

HWID ban would be great yes.
2 -
It takes one of someone cheating to find the cheat, and then it's in the database for the anti cheat. Making cheats is not cost and time efficient. When they don't work after like 1 day.

Yeah but they get good games too. like Age of Empires 2. Which I don't get on my Xbox. So it's worth every penny.

I don't play consoles. I am, and always have been, a PC gamer. And not on a laptop, either.
I do that because (1) I really hate console controllers, but also (2) I can upgrade my PC as I want or need to. I don't have to keep buying a NextGen console for upgrades.

I like my Xbox, but I also like my PC. I play DBD on Xbox mainly because my PC is so garbage it wouldn't even run DBD.
0 -
My kids always did both. Three of them are adults now (28, 23, and 21) and my youngest is 11, and all four of them still do a mixture of Xbox and PC gaming.
For the 11-year-old, his friends are on PC gaming. They do Overwatch (custom games), Roblox, and and Friday Night Funkin', though the last one is single player right now, I believe.

I saw a massive rise in the amount of hackers since the RE chapter release. Since that release I've seen at least 4 hackers with one (that I had reported) being seen multiple times on both Killer and Survivor. BHVR really needs to do something about hacking because it's getting out of hand.
4 -
Well if playing DBD was tied to a BHVR account then they couldn't switch their name at the end, because the switching is to someone else's Steam Profile.
3 -
Nah, it's definitely not worth it to me to spend 4-5 times higher, minimum, for cheaters and higher frame rates. I like my PS4 exclusives.
1 -
The problem is more that they barely punish cheaters which is why even fog whisperers tell you not to waste your time reporting them.
1 -
IKm pretty sure they do something like this but HWID spoofers exist
1 -
I think they might do this already I got advertised a DBD cheat site by a hacker and along with their hacks they were selling HWID spoofers
1 -
A better term for it is Hardware banning persistent cheaters, bricking pc's has a different meaning than what you think it does.
0 -
you would have better chances complaining to easy anti cheat directly
1 -
Honestly tho
