To the "I want a refund" people
I'm sorry but you're being kinda rediculous. You're not supposed to get some giga-epic S+ killer each time. Look I think Pinhead's bad too, his power sucks outside of niche situations but come on, grow up, the dlc itself is 5 bucks and you shouldn't have spent more on the cosmetic before you played him and got a feel for him. Like I'm upset that Pinhead's pretty trash, but really? All this uprise for 5 bucks? Play at least 5 or so matches before you buy a 15 dollar cosmetic (If you did get it), this isn't me being a shill or BHVR, it's just common sense. Like I understand that you're upset, I understand why, but I just can't understand you wanting a refund for your 5 dollar purchase

If a game crashing on a regular basis due to this killer is normal to you, then I'd say you have pretty low standards for video games.

Every chapter we've had since Oni (with the exception of Blight) has been complete garbage. The killers suck, the one map we got is currently the worst in the game, and the perks are either complete garbage or completely broken. The people asking for a refund have a reason, and with McLean gone, more of these posts will pop up.
14 -
Most likely because yet again another killer is released that causes disconnects and crashes.
AKA breaking the 'Sales of goods act' depending where you are located.
12 -
Maybe those people should inform themselves before buying the chapters? It’s not like the info wasn’t out already….
(also not all killers since Oni have been complete garbage. At all..)
5 -
I guess as a Fallout 4 player I'm used it /j
But I get where you're coming from, I haven't had a crash yet but then again I haven't played much Pinhead

I don't want a refund, but i am not happy with this update. The new killer isn't even fully playable, and there's lots of new bugs on random things like legion and freddy. For that reason, i wish i hadn't given money to BHVR for this update.
4 -
I don't want a refund - I don't trust BHVR since the Blight release so I'm not buying killers on release anymore, and everyone else should do the same.
13 -
A lot of the posts saying it aren't asking for a S+ killer. They wanted the basic features which were shown already. They wanted good quality control. This was not good quality control. The game is literally unplayable for many people (DC and CTD's are literally that). It was a shoddy product so people do want a refund. If someone sells me a toaster and it just burns the bread everytime on the lowest setting then clearly the toaster is defective. Just cause the toaster is $5 on Amazon doesn't mean you don't deserve a refund. With that being said, even if it was a more extreme situation, unlikely they would. BHVR's behavior for that is bad unless its directly related to not receiving a product you paid for. Which actually is a problem with this DLC also. So yeah, its a complete ######### show.
7 -
So why did they buy Pinhead then, or why do they even still play the game.
0 -
I have a hard time feeling bad for people, especially when they say "I knew BHVR would do this."
If you knew then why did you buy it immediately? Why didn't you wait?
The crashing is an issue and it's an issue BHVR should have fixed before sending him out, but everything else I have a very hard time feeling bad about

Steam players can do this, sure, but for anyone playing on console or Windows Store or whatever, this isn't easy to do. You can't really decide whether the killer is good for you unless you've had the chance to play him/her. I made this mistake big time with Trickster and Legion.
Since Oni, we've gotten Slinger, Blight, Twins, Trickster, and Nemesis.
The Oni's chapter is imo the best the game has ever had.
Slinger's chapter was a flop. Cool survivor, but boring killer and bad map.
Blight is amazing. Currently one of my favorite killers. The perks and survivor are great too. More than made up for the lack of a map.
Twins suck. If you don't slug, you don't win, and slugging is boring for both sides. Survivors spend time recovering, and, at least when I play killer, I hate having to slug. Less points, potential DCs, salt.
We all know Trickster went down. Released as a killer at the bottom of most tier lists, and his buff just made him annoying af to vs.
Nemesis is good, for the most part. The zombies can be either stupid broken or stupid. The perks are all decent, and we got some good survs. Map was a mistake. There are leaked variations of the map, so hopefully it'll split the entire thing in half.

because there is no successful game in this genre. exept dbd

Slinger and twins?

I just find it funny that people who constantly complain about quality issues and bugs from BHVR - supposedly bought the DLC on release day.
Look here's the thing - I love DBD, but I also know that the past 4 or so Chapters have had major issues upon release. This is why I do not buy DLCs until after a few weeks/bug fixes have been implemented. The funniest part of this is I see people who have sworn over and over they will never buy another DLC from BHVR on these forums and Twitter - who allegedly bought the DLC and are having issues with it. I say allegedly because I tend to not believe most of these people because they like to exaggerate A LOT.
I am a completionist and will buy the DLC - in a few weeks.

This comment here. I can understand the upset from Console players (like what @DetailedDetriment mentioned), as they can't feel out the killer on PTB besides just watching people play it, I feel really bad for console DBD players man, they get the short end so badly. But PC players like, come on, you had a chance to do the PTB and you also got to watch people play. The technical errors are definitely bad, that's something I can understand upset for

Slinger is pretty good though. May lack map pressure buts that’s actually a base game problem and not really Killer specific at this point.
Twins can be decent in the right hands without massive slugging. I think Dowsey is great streamer that had shown their potential!
Pyramid Head also came after Oni iirc and while not S tier he is also not garbage.
Nemesis you have covered yourself.
Trickster is the exception, not the norm.
and you can inform yourself via streamers, forum feedback and other community’s (Reddit, discord etc). Sure it may be different if you play yourself, but not to a too high degree

The PTB isn't the only way of deciding whether or not to buy a chapter. As soon as the PTB comes out there a million videos dedicated to the subject. They can wait until the reviews come out, or wait until more updated videos.
It is fully possible for players not on steam to wait and at least look at the product before they buy it.
2 -
I wish more people thought like you lol. People aren't having a gun pointed to their head to buy the dlc, they can wait till the bugs get sorted (For the most part at least, it is DBD afterall) then buy, but nope, they just buy it day one and whine. Nothing will be perfect on day one in video games, that's simply a fact

Pyramid head

You still don't have a good idea though. Huntress is quite frequent at low ranks. She is one of the more difficult killers to play as, so if people bought her (if she was paid) not knowing the pain they'll endure in learning her, I'm sure they'd be quite infuriated.

Forgot about the Silent Hill chapter. Not that it really matters is it too had a bad launch.
0 -
I can understand being wanting refunds on account of post-DLC update crashes and bugs which make the game completely unstable.
But in regards to demaning refunds over a killer who isn't of a personal standard? No chance.
1 -
Again- It is fully possible to wait and see what the general consensus is from console players. If you buy a product without looking into it, at all, then I'm going, to be honest, I still have a hard time feeling bad.
1 -
I had no problem of any killer like Pinhead. You just need to git gud. Be happy for what you have.
0 -
It's amusing when people get buyer's remorse after purchasing an untested product from a seller that is well known to be dodgy AF.
9 -
Exactly, if they want one because of the former, fair enough, if it's because of the latter, that's just absurd, especially for once again, 5 bucks
0 -
I know right? I'm happy that I got lucky by having the SAW Chapter and it's not that bad though.
0 -
Not really. If every chapter since Oni has been garbage, why would one continue to buy them? There are many, many readily available review sources for this stuff and this particular content has been out less than 24 hours. If someone continually pulls the trigger instantly on content then wants a refund immediately, that person is being theatrical. Maybe slow down and not buy new content for a couple weeks. Maybe if the game is such trash, abandon your sunken cost and move on?
1 -
I just don't buy dlc on the first day any more. It's not even that I'd be mad at what I get - I can't play the killer because the ques ALWAYS jump up massively in the first evening after a dlc drop
1 -
This content has been removed.
-
I was talking about the character itself, not the technical issues, the technical issues I completely understand people wanting money back for, but people wanting refunds just because Pinhead sucks is absurd

This content has been removed.
-
Twins were bugged so much after release that pinhead looks like a pro polished product compared to twins.
0 -
I actually did okay with Pinhead last night, when the match wasn't crashing. The chains are hard as hell to get the hang of.
1 -
If every chapter since almost 2 years ago suck, why people still buy them on release day?
3 -
Yeah, I stopped buying a DbD DLC near release quite a while ago. Now, I wait until a month, maybe two months, after its launch. And since every DLC patch from Twins to now has been a disaster, that went from personal advice to a hardline rule.
BHVR is pretty much top of the list of "Game Studios I Do Not Trust."
0 -
I'm not one of the "refund people" but I think its pretty bold to assume that $5 means the same for everyone. Some people don't even have enough to buy a DLC.
Either way, I don't care if the DLC was worth $1, that's still YOUR money. You should get what you paid for.
5 -
This is why people should wait before buying. It was only within an hour or so of Pinhead's release that they tweeted about matches disconnecting. I understand the hyper but... it's BHVR, nobody should ever expect the game to function after a chapter is released. People also seem to forget that a bugfix patch happens literally 1 or 2 weeks after the chapter release.

I'm not happy with the game, not the killer. Now I'm afraid that there will be an update to the game because every time the game is updated, a lot of errors, bugs, crashes increase and they have to constantly disable maps. Now they need to stop adding more characters to the game and focus on game health and game balance. If possible, they should stop adding chapters to the game until the 6th Anniversary and be interested in the game.
1 -
True but tbf they didn’t crash the game either
1 -
I mean you can leave now...nothing stopping you. One look at your post history and it's pretty obvious you are not happy with the game.
Oh and FYI Fog Whisperers - do not get paid. You keep saying they pay "YouTubers" which is not true and I am assuming you mean Fog Whisperers - which is also not true. It's one thing to be pissy and mad - which you do a lot of - but try to at least stay somewhat honest when you rant.
1 -
People want a refund because they can't even use the content they purchased because of the games poor performance. I think it's pretty reasonable.
5 -
I was told the voicline removal was for technical reasons. If its actually copyright and they lied to us about being able to fix them ill be kinda upset.
0 -
They said in the patch notes: "The Cenobite's voice over lines have been removed due to complications with the audio files."
We've no idea if the "complications" are of a technical or legal nature. Anyone outside of a BHVR representative stating one or the other is pure conjecture. The mods here on the forums have simply stated that they cannot discuss it.
0 -
So they may have been mistruthful but they wont/can't say.
0 -
Well, yeah and no. A legal issue is a "complication" with the proposed audio files. So, it wouldn't exactly be untruthful.
That said, I am in no way, shape, or form defending how they're handling this. It's being handled in an asinine way, which seems to be typical BHVR now.
It's why I never buy anything from them on release day, and have still not purchased anything from them since Blight released one year ago today. No DLCs, no cosmetics, no rifts, not a damned thing. In my personal opinion, BHVR is no longer to be trusted. I'd trust EA over them at this point.

You can watch hundreds of videos of people using a specific basketball if you want to but at the end of the day it’s not the same as you being able to hold it yourself, feel the grip and shoot around with it for a few hours.
That’s what the PTB is, I didn’t make the mistake of buying the DLC but I won’t make fun of people who did
2 -
They get free auric cells so they pay them a bit, but ok, that auric cells stuff is not significant.
0 -
You can't pay your rent with auric cells last time I checked. They also give them free codes for DLCs..Bloodpoints for PTB.. etc.. but that is not PAYING them. The value of what they get is limited to in-game items and has no value outside of the game. To insinuate that BHVR pays them is disingenuous at best.
2 -
It's DLC for an exclusively multiplayer game. Trickster was bad on PTB and bad on launch, but people still bought him. Twins could be countered by lockers for weeks after launch, but people still bought them.
