What do you think is the optimal strategy against Pinhead?

Always go for the box? If not, when's the best time to go for it or leave it alone? Once you get it, should you attempt to solve it immediately or bring it away from gens to try to bait? Or is that just wasting more time? Ignore the box? Sit and cry?

Gimme your pro tips

I feel like survivors can’t ignore the box. The chains are very active and pull ppl off objectives constantly, and hurts the person in chase significantly.

Generally you want to solve the box before the chain hunt starts. There's not particularly a downside to doing so and you just completely negate a large part of the killer's strength.

Don't bother go for the box immediately because the chains don't spawn until the chain hunt starts, keep track of when he's standing still and therefore spawning a portal, be ready to dodge chains if they show up, etc

grab the box before the chain hunt starts and solve the box when Pinhead is about to secure a down.

Pinhead now has to either completely abandon what would be a hook to teleport, or let the survivor solve it in the hopes they get the down soon.

I think you should solve it right away at the start to give everyone more time on gens initially, especially if you are a strong runner. Then you can wait to solve it the next time when your meter is close to full to give you time on gens while still avoiding chain hunt. I don't think holding it is a good strat because if the killer isn't chasing you and the chains are spawning you are essentially like someone hiding in a corner not doing anything. If I was Pinhead, I'd let you hold it and spam me the whole time and just ignore you.

The biggest problem though is how much stronger it is in solo queue than SWF comms. You have know idea if your teammates are going for it or not. I'm solo exclusive. In most of my matches, every survivor not being chased is usually running for the box or none of use are. Add ruin on top of it, and gens just don't get done with a halfway decent killer, even if they can't use his chase power that well.

He is just another solo stomper killer that has a hard time with coordinated SWFs on comms in my opinion. Especially with ruin/undying.

According to my solo queue teammates: "NEVER TOUCH THE BOX BY ANY MEANS!!!"

I think the best strat is to have one survivor focus on finding and solving the box, while everyone else focuses on distracting Pin Man and doing gens.

Right now for a 4 man, the most optimal thing is basically the rule of 3 people on gens, one person being ran. But now it should be 2 people on gens, 1 being ran, 1 solving the box. Also always solve the box during times where pinhead can't really do anything about it. As solo queue, just slam gens in-between solving the box, and if no one solves, then you go do it. Trying to keep the box hostage isn't a great idea and it means if the pinhead is good he will search you out to get you. Solve it every chance you get, but try to wait till chain hunt is almost about to begin, it is extremely annoying for the pinhead

Do the box asap, and the most healthy player should be the one to go get it.

If you want him to get zero value, you basically just solve the box when he picks someone up.
