BHVR - is this how SBMM is supposed to work>
This is a ######### matchmatching system. I'd rater wait a few extra minutes and get matched against players close to my skill level. Is this the intended outcome of SBMM?

Yes, SBMM is supposed to make you sweat for a 2K and make sure you have a miserable time.
Are my matches miserable? Yep. Do I still wait 15 minutes for them? Yep.

Until tonight I had the hardest matches of my life, one after another. Now it seems to have evened out and, for now, most of my matches seem fair.
I still get the difficult matches I know I will lose as soon as I'm in my second chase but I presume that's just the increase in my score.

I didn't have to wait 15 minutes, fortunately. If you're waiting that long AND getting matched against rank 1's - that's just sad. I just switch to survivor and enjoy a nice relaxing time not having to sweat after matchmaking like this...

I can't even play Blight at this point.
It takes me an unholy amount of time to find a game with him, and it's always against the same people.

What's your rank and where do you play? I play US eastern time zone and I didn't have to wait more than a minute for my macthes

Rank doesn't really matter anymore.
But I'm Rank 1 in the Midwestern US. I've lost under 30 games since 2021 started.

No no, 15 minute queues, 6 minute matches.
Unless it's Blight, then I had a 2 hour queue. It was at 3 AM though, so it's probably mostly the time.
