Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

110 v 115 - I AM A RACE CAR

I main all the slow killers; Spirit, Huntress, Hag, Nurse. In that order. Also Freddy, but I haven't really played him in ages. Recently started to play Trapper/Billy and OMG I am a literal race car. The extra 5% movement makes such a huge difference. I find it so incredibly easy to chase down survivors with these guys, probably because I'm used to having to optimize my pathing as a slow killer. Not to say people don't still give me a run around, but it's a very noticeable change. I'm almost tempted to not go back. Some games I rarely even placed traps or used chainsaw and still 4k'd just from my main attack.

If you are having trouble in a chase play a slow killer for a while, learn how to optimize your path, then come back. You will dominate.

I saw someone do the math and 115% is technically 33% faster in game terms vs 110 killers. Playing Spririt then hopping back to Myers is jarring

Well if you look at it as meters per second, it's 4.4 (110) and 4.6 (115). So if you move for 10 seconds there is a difference of 2m distance. It would take the slow killer roughly a half second extra to move the same distance.

My point here is that I'm just used to optimizing my path, and when you do that well with 115% movement you can more readily outplay survivors. Mistakes are also easier to recover from.

Yeah, I mainly use the Hag and the Spirit when I play Killer, but when I decide to use the Clown (my other go-to) I still have to take a little time adjusting because I feel like I'm flying compared to the other two's normal movement.

Agreed, I started out on Trapper and just learned how to path better and when on Spirit i still manage to do really well.

I don't mean to sound rude but that math seems off.

It's not, you don't MOVE 33% faster, you CATCH UP 33% faster. A chase that would take 60 seconds with a 110 killer takes 115 killers only 40 seconds.

This is why 110 killers are dependent on their powers to shorten that gap.

Well it's also why 110 killers learn to optimize their pathing better and do chases and patrolling better.

Ah now I see. Thanks for the explanation.

If you take it relative to 110ms then you catch up 50% faster than the 110 ms killer, not 33%.

How do you possibly get 33%? (taking 15 as 100% and saying going from +10 to +15 is a 33% increase? What would this number even indicate?)

Sorry for poking at you though. Your point still stands; it's significant.

115 to 110 is 33% slower, 110 to 115 is 50% faster (considering only the killer-survivor speed difference, obviously). He probably got confused because math...

Most reasons why they add more slow Killers are because their power is stronger, better and more fun to play as and against. Look at Freddy, Wraith or Trapper or even Pig. They are fast but their power either suck or aren't that fun. Slow Killers usually manage to get to Top Tier cuz their skill cap is higher, so when you learn them you become godlike with them. Billy is the only 115 exception. His power is strong and his speed is strong and his skill cap isn't that high. That's why most noobs play Billy because he is pretty easy and strong. But most of the time they take the 115 % because they suck at chainsawing.

Also, slow Killers are played at lot more different and that's why people say slow Killers suck.

Trapper is way fun if you have 10th dimensional mind game traps. I put down really random traps sometimes and get people almost every game with it. Pig is fun too she is like half stealth half gen pressure. Freddy is fun but he can be bullied very easily.

I've been playing Trapper/Billy, and for Billy I really have only been using chainsaw to get around or break pallets. Most of the time I just smack people. I'll save chainsaws for later when they will be expecting me to just hit them and they are already on second or third hook, it's scary.

Slow killers don't suck though. Nurse is the best killer in the game. Spirit and Hag and tied for third best after Billy. Huntress is 4th after them. Nurse/Spirit/Huntress are probably the best chasers in the game. Hag has best map pressure out of any killer. The thing is that you have to know what you are doing. Nurse and Huntress require a lot of mechanical skill. Spirit requires you to mind game and predict like a prophet. Hag requires you to have a plan and predict survivors too. If you suck at any of these things, which is pretty easy to do, you will suck with these killers.

With Billy I literally can just follow you and beat you at loops super fast if you aren't optimal. And if you are out in the open or a bad spot I get a free chainsaw. And I can hook someone, look at BBQ and just fly across the map super fast and easy.

Yeah, I didn't say the suck, but there are so many people who say they are bad because "you mentioned" they don't know how to play. Was also my point. They play them like normal Killers, and Billy is also a normal Killer with an easy ability. He is still 2nd best cuz of his map pressure and insta down. But because of that that he is a normal Killer with normal speed I don't enjoy him like I enjoy Hag, Nurse or other slower Killers. I enjoy Myers as the only normal speed Killer because his playstyle is also a bit different.

Billy is a lot of fun for me because I've been playing slow killers. But yea he's very one dimensional. Spirit is IMO the most fun killer to play because mind games can literally be anything. And it's always different based on the survivor and the situation. Hag is a lot of fun too because she is so good at jump scares if you put traps in funny places.

I play most Hag recently. Sometimes they destroy your complete setup but if you know how to use momentum properly and know where you should spread out traps then it's very fun. I had a match today where I got a 4k and at the end chat someone said "You got lucky". Yeah, with literally 4 irdidescent emblems and a very good setup I got lucky, of course. Then also him "i PiP I wIn". Yeah, of course. That's how Survivor works (not really)

  • thesuicidefox

Yea you can't play Hag like Trapper. It's better to set up a web of traps than to just put them at loops and stuff. Like yea you can do that at the strong loops like shack and cow tree just to discourage survs from going there, like a Trapper would, but you get more benefit if you have traps just along the path from one loop to the next, since there are less options at those points you get free hits a lot. And it's scary. I run Whispers and if the perk is dark I take 5-10 steps and place a trap. Place traps in doorways or in the middle of corn, or on top of hills. Anywhere. You catch them with their pants down and it's harder for them to break your setups.

  • MrDardon
    MrDardon Member Posts: 4,181

As Hag you should definitely trap good loops, but not like Trapper. When it comes to the shack I place a trap inside in the middle because they definitely run into that. Not after windows, more in the center of a T-Wall loop, in the middle of a pallet loop on the longer loop, not the shorter one. Or when there isn't a trap at a pallet I place one in front of the pallet if they try to loop me so if they try to drop it i can get a free hit cuz of that mindgame. I also like to place one on a hill. They only map I have problems with is Haddonfield, but I guess most Hag Players hate this map.
