Pinheads chains feel like the most redundant power ever
I remember thinking his chains were alright during the PTB but now after playing him and against a lot more, it just feels like chaining a survivor does next to nothing. You lose a lot of distance just using his power and even when you're close, survivors still get away pretty easily.
The fact that they can still drop pallets and vault them is really bizarre and makes it feel pointless to use it at loops. The only arguable good thing it can do is stop a fast vault and unsafe loops and that's roughly it unless you're using particular addons.
It's honestly not surprising that they didn't change his chains but still disappointing all the same. He definitely has the potential to be a decent killer if they tweaked them a bit more and made the skill of using the chains actually have a decent pay off. But right now it feels like using them only really hinders you more than helps and you better off relying on the chain hunt

He is great for punishing bad survivors. I mean, so is every killer... But you know, it is basically his niche!

From my experience his chains are only good for stopping small loops and surveillance, they aren't meant to close distance. The amount of survivors I have hit because they slow vault is pretty high so I am warming up to his chains.

The only times I really use his chains now is when I can stick a survivor standing halfway around a loop, or I pre-determine they are jumping a window, dropping a pallet, or vaulting a pallet. Drop a chain on them to slow them down from making it to the next loop.
I have used it to scare survivors off gens, which is funny, but wastes a lot of time.

I presume you don't think Clown's power is useful, either?

Clown you don't have to stand still every time you use his bottles

And Pinheads slowdown is more aggressive.

I don't think in general he's weak, his chain hunt is very good at putting pressure on survivors and his addons can make his chains do some good. Its just a lot of the time it feels like there isn't much point in using his chains, not saying they're are unusable, I just think the reward for using them should be a bit higher considering they are quite tricky to use while clowns bottles give much more value with a lot less skill

Yeah, the faster spawning didnt really do anything, because the activation time is so long.
it's like buffing old hag by increasing her range, without fixing her delay after teleport. it wouldnt solve her issues
Or like buffing old demogorgon by giving him more portals, even though that wouldnt have solved his issues.

Yeah the power often doesn't really do much. Survivors can still drop pallets so even if you chain a survivor near a pallet they can often just throw it down anyways. Forcing slow vaults is kind of useful since you can get a free hit with it, but that's about it.
Doesn't help survivors can immediately start running the minute they are no chained since there is no buffer on the status effect like there is with deathslinger chain, so if you are forced to break chains just to reach a survivor they can sprint burst or dead hard away immediately.
His chains just don't feel enough of a hinderance to survivors.

I find his power is only good at close to medium range. Trying to force a slow vault or get a hit in at a pallet loop. I feel his real power is the chain hunt. Lately I've been running franklins and focusing on the person grabbing the box. Been running range add ons to try to interrupt them when they are solving it.

Im not saying no to this, would def enjoy more portals.

I also forgot to mention the 0.5 second where you can't do anything after returning from the gateway.
