getting hit after a swing?

Is it right the killer is meant to be able to hit you after the swing? I run at about 40ping.

Do you mean to be able to hit you 'at the end of the anim. swing' ? It probably is a result of some Desync (very common in DbD) or a result of the collision capsules (resolution of the hit is depending on the Dedicaced/killer latency)...

Well, if you wanna be pedantic about it, they always do. Since any amount of ping equals a slight delay.

But what was the ping of the killer?

The hitbox stays for the entirety of the swinganimation, so the killer can still hit survivors when their weapon has almost reached the ground.

I had 3 hits in a row yesterday that didn't register. Granted, those hits were just before pallet throws on my view. It was quite infuriating lol.

It does happen and I assume it’s due to normal latency. You hear the sound of a whiffed attack and then get hit. They probably clipped the very edge of your hitbox and because you’re slightly further back on their screen than you are on yours (because your ping+their ping causes a slight delay, even if it’s low on both ends), it seems weird from your perspective. But I don’t think this can ever really be “fixed”.
