Sometime its because you have the crossplay activated. You have some period of time were the game is more fun specially during the day survivor are more chill and what i can see the mmr is better too so maybe people prefer to play killer at those time. Dont worry after 6pm you should have instant lobby

I got cross play on but it seems like untell 7pm q times are longer than matches. Its just weird and when I play survivor I don't see much pinhead.

Pinhead is not a good killer so some killer drop him already and they are waiting for him to get buff. For me im in NA east so its probably not the same but when i play with crossay on it always take more time for a game to be found.

I believe the reason q time are long is because of mmr i dont know why but during the day i feel like mmr is good so it take more time to find a good game for both party.

Yep, my queue times are longer for killer than survivor, and this is in peak hours. I play in western europe. Before MMR my queue times as killer were instant in the evenings and quite long for survivor, so it's pretty weird.

Yeah they’ve been very long for me too

It is mmr. I went back to getting instant queues at night for my low mmr killers. My Freddy still needs to wait long. I can't believe the queues actually probably were Pinhead even though I only got to play against him like 3 times.

It's not. Pinhead just dropped, so there are people trying to play him. This happens with every killer release for the following weeks.

But I haven't seen a pinhead in like 3 days when I play survivor.

I'm inclined to agree. Depending on how fun the killer is to play and how strong they are will decide how long many pinheads are running around. That being said I see little to none in what I assume is average mmr survivor play. (I wish I knew where I am in the mmr skill braket.)

I'd say pinhead has an uphill struggle maintaining long term main's because of how difficult he is to play coinciding with the fact that his payoff for learning him is quite low. He combines the difficulty of huntress aim + nurse blinks. This might sound ridiculous but he might just be the hardest killer to play in the game assuming you don't just m1 and ignore his power entirely. I'd say in about a week things should be back to normal until then killers are gonna suffer from long queue times.

Also be extra careful with performing too well. If you play optimally there's a real chance as killer or survivor your gonna have crazy queue times. As finding killers or survivors of a similar skill level will be hard. I advise giving hatch or giving a killer a kill to potentially reduce mmr gain if you regularly perform well.

It is bizzare. It wasn't this bad in previously dropped killers.

Hmmm My wait times are between 1-3 minutes for killer and 30 seconds to 2 mins for survivor. I am West Coast US and I play between 6p-2am MST.

Its not because of pinhead. SBMM lowers your pool to queue from.

Im in the east coast and my surv Qs have been like 30 seconds max. Killer though it's been pretty brutal. I recently had a 32 minute wait on a doctor game. Even with the new killer released this should not be this bad. Its gotta be a combination of the new mmr and the new killer.

Killer queue times have always been longer.

You could actually track this with peer to peer. Not so much now that its centralised.

I suspect the average killer is more engaged with the game than the average survivor. Therefore killers are here to up their mmr/grade etc. Where as the average survivor has just been playing as usual.

Historically I've observed low rank survivors getting fed to high rank killers to try to bring down queue times. As someone whose played since release, if I saw a couple games where I was expected to carry low rank survivors, say 2 games, on the 3rd game id get a low rank killer. I guess to 'balance' it out.

The thing I find curious is that the devs havent ever really cared for their newb survivors. With the expectations around how to effectively manage your game; things like noed (cleanse totems) etc. Or before the ruin nerf, which was just creating trainwrecks at low ranks. I guess theirs an exponential amount of new survivors that keep feeding the algorithm.

I'm always curious if at some point the number will dry up. Because its generally a miserable experience for low rank survivors.

Eu server here. My insomnia is playing up so playing throughout the night.

My killer queue times are still long at that time too.

At first I thought its super long because of SBMM is ######### something up, but then I remembered it was exactly like this when last killer got released.

It should be better in a week or so...I hope

First sentence is already false since it was always dependant on region and time of day and is mostly subjective.

My game in eu west after 8 pm in the last 6 months had queues so short that i couldn't even choose which BP offering to pick.

In the morning to afternoon I would've to wait 2-10 minutes.

Now with sbmmr there is no longer this extreme rank widening for matching with long queue time (for now). And the distribution of killers and survivors across ratings is most probably just not the perfect bell curve it would need for fast queues. Coupled with the disparity between the perfect 4:1 ratio depending on day time like before sbmmr.

Not sure how you could say its subjective when you could literally see the numbers of killers and survivors at any one time.

The rest is all valid points which can only be discounted with me going back, pulling the numbers, showing them to you and then you being a good faith actor with that knowledge.

Okay, given the fact that I never heard in the two years i am on this forum and the 5 years i sporadically play this game that it is even possible to specifically see exact killer to survivor ratio at any given time. Completely new information for me.

That would make any of those already painful information empty threads about queue times (no region, time of day or X-Play on/off information given most of the time) way easier to explain or even the whole point of creating one void.

Subjective isn't quite right. Variable is a bit more accurate. But yeah... You can't literally see the numbers of killers and survivors at any one time.

    Thanks to Sbmm.

Nothing related to PinHead, the killer is dead already.
