Why are experienced players using the excuse they just want to have fun?
I really don't get it. Can someone explain this to me?
So experienced players are complaining they go against other experienced players? but it's all giggles when they're against inexperienced players a.k.a the fun matches?
Your definition of 'fun' is probably someone's misery by the way and they weren't having 'fun' in that match. Some people also use the "I want to try new killers" excuse, So wait you're inexperienced with the killer but gets pissy when you get steam rolled by survivors? What? Shouldn't you be accepting defeats to get better or you just want easy wins after easy wins against noobies? Trying something new and you're unfamiliar with but also wanting to win every time is absolutely bizarre to me.
What is the middle ground on this?

People play games for fun. Playing an imbalanced game isnt fun.
It's quite simple when you think about it
Edit: you also counter yourself. You say they expect to go against easier players but then say they have to accept to be stream rolled. Everyone wants to play and have fun, no one wants to be "steam rolled"

I dont want to face inexperienced players, I want to face and play with experienced players who also are playing for fun. The Über sweats can ######### off into a category of their own

Some killer and survivor mains were used to winning in a flawed system and rather than accept their shortcomings, blame a system, perk, or situation on something they feel they cannot control. I pity them, they got to comfortable with what they deem a win rather then reevaluate what they want from this game. Well, as the old saying goes | Some people want to have their cake, and eat it too.
Yes. I am a killer main but I recommend you set personal win condition of 1 hook for killer and 1 gen for survivor you will enjoy the game so much more.

Since sbmm is on, I only had fun as survivor, might be playing killer again if I want to sweat and be stressed out for nothing

I play with survivors a lot if I see they're struggling, and just evade bad killers if they're doing the same so I don't end up taking them on a long chase. It's relaxing playing with people that are very chill.
I don't think any really experienced player revels in stomping a newbie. Once or twice maybe, but I've been known to slug people on death hook just so they can get more points before I finish the job.
Edit: Feels good to give people hatch sometimes.

Yeah, if I see a survivor that doesn't do too hot, I usually keep them around. Don't get me wrong, if they make mistakes, I will put them right back on the ground. But I am not going to remove them from the game. At least not until the end, but I honestly don't even go for kills anymore. I find going for BBQ stacks twice to be more satisfying.

In here comes my point you didn't address in another thread again.
This is an online PVP game with distinct opposing sides not Fortnite or pubg with multiple teams. Therefore this game is not casual but competitive, and again I don't mean eSports but the general definition of the word, two sides competing against each other.
In EVERY of those games, separate normal and ranked queue or not, you will find people trying to goof around for fun and the people that try (hard) to win. But you can't expect your opponent to play the same way you want to play, so you have to expect the tryhard in every match and only HOPE to get like minded chill player.
There is simply nothing to be done about that. Also the reason why I think that those "make separate rank/normal queue" threads are pointless. You can't keep tryhards out of the normal queue where they would even get easier games.

I'd like to consider myself semi-expericenced (Sitting at 2k hours, so I at least have finally figured out what exactly a generator is and how to hold M1 on it /s.) and I can't disagree more with the sentiment of not wanting to go against more experienced players.
I want to go against players who are sitting around the same experience level as me, but I don't want a sweat fest every match- be it Tinkerer, Ruin, Undying Spirits or full teams of DS+UB+DH, where it's gens before any other action in life including breathing. I want to chill with buds and have a fun, fair game with Killers who are running some weird, uncommon stuff for fun. Not sweatfests or steamrolls. (Heck, even when I'm matched with folks who are obviously worse then me, like a baby Pyramid Head who I loop for five gens at Shack or baby Jakes who are left to die by their teammates who pretty much got them killed, I'll normally be nice in end-game and show some form of kindness- like giving those Jakes hatch or killing myself so that the baby Pyarmid Head at least gets a kill. I've been there, I know how bad those situations suck, and I don't make it a point to rub salt in their wound.)

Yes, correct, and I wish to play with the people who play semi-seriously and face people who play semi-seriously. I don't want to face new killers, and I don't want the massive sweaty ######### who try to ruin everyone's experience.
I accept people like that will always exist, and I accept new people will exist. I just don't want to play with them because this is a 4v1 game, but it is still a video game, and they are supposed to be played for fun.
If your idea of fun is sweating out as hard as you can, great! You can do that vs others who sweat as hard as they can and leave me to play in the middle where nobody takes the game seriously.
Which I guess SBMM may solve given enough time. And if it works at all. The new players will be low, the sweats will be high, and the people playing for fun and semi-experienced players will be together in the middle.

I hope you don't assume that I myself want to play sweaty with this paragraph:
If your idea of fun is sweating out as hard as you can, great! You can do that vs others who sweat as hard as they can and leave me to play in the middle where nobody takes the game seriously.
I am probably one of the few killer that don't even try to get kills but go for 8 hooks and maximum BP while providing some kind of thrill for the survivor.
And again just because this is a video game, it is not a game intented for people to chill since neither you, the devs nor anyone else has control over what attitude the opponent has.
For example i play league of legends with the intention to win but also play together with friends that are evidently (way) under my skill and I still don't tryhard, but also expect that i won't necessarily win or have much fun. Mostly either I can carry or get focused by the enemy team and my friends are not good enough to help me. (Which sometimes still leads to wins when I manage to get the enemies to blow everything on me but that is also no fun to be the sacrificial lamb)
Same when we really goof around and pick a silly comp of all tanks or all heal supports. It can work but i go into those games expecting to get curbstomped hard since I cant expect the other team to pull their punches because they want to play a normal and not a throwaway game. Same in overwatch or rainbow six siege and also in DBD.
You can go in and have fun with friends and not tryhard but to expect that your opponent in an, again, PVP game will accomodate to that is delusional.

No I'm saying veterans wants easy players but complains the second they get experienced players.
Yes, People play to have fun but the sad reality of this game is having fun here means at the expense of others - you're decimating the other side. I just think you have no room to complain about getting matched about this or that when you're celebrating about how fun you're having trying out new killers(You're facing beginners) but then get a mental breakdown as soon as you get players your own level.

No, it wasn't directed towards you specifically, but a general "you". As in, "If someone's idea of fun is sweating then go and sweat with people who also like to sweat, and leave me out of it."
And yes, I accept that I won't always face people who are playing for fun and the occasional sweaty game I don't care about. It's when every single ######### trial is Ruin Undying Tinkerer on Blight, Spirit, or Nurse, with a map offering and tunneling someone ASAP while I'm here with Head On and Blast Mine trying to get a combo play off. Like, if you have fun playing like that go for it, I can't dictate how you play, but I can say what I want to face.
Which is why I'm hoping SBMM actually becomes effective soon because the games have finally gotten more tolerable. A lot less sweating and a lot more meming, or semi-new people who even if they do try to sweat I can hold my own against well. That's a lot more fun for me than red ranks has been for the past 3 and a half years.
This of course referring to survivor only, killer right now is still a ######### nightmare and I'm just going to have to stop trying to play as Pyramid Head because it genuinely hurts inside.
So, again, I accept people will play like this, and I accept that I will have no control over this, but this is a public discussion forum and the last time I checked there wasn't a rule against explaining how I would like to play the video game.

Fun means varied builds on good survivors or interesting gameplay decisions, not just stomping babies. I don't enjoy going against the exact same ######### over and over again. Same perks, offerings, items, no variation, that's not fun.

When trying out new killers you don't want to be facing full on sweaty matches but you also don't want survivors allergic to gens. It needs to be the middle ground.
When facing full sweaty matches there is not the time to be looking at your mistakes and trying to improve, as frustration in the game grows the less your likely to take in when it comes to learning the killer.
For example, if I wanted to learn nurse against really good loopers and extremely efficient gen progress I would find it incredibly difficult to have time to take anything in. I won't learn blink distance because of all the jukes, which as you know is very important to know.
If I faced average survivors I will be more likely to get the odd hit in, learn blink to fatigue time, be able to understand the basics of how the survivors will try to mind game me. Yes I will still lose quite a lot of matches as my understanding grows but I will learn a lot if I'm not going against full on sweat squads who have all gens done by the time I hit a blink.
I want to start new killers in the shallow end of the pool, not thrown straight into the deep end.

Before SBMMR, I played well enough with a few killers to get red ranks. These killers have most perks unlocked, plenty of addons to play around with, and my experience with them. Playing new killer doesn't necessarily have all that and I am basically starting at maybe a rank 8 in the old system. The SBMMR has allowed me to play enough in those first few games to build up experience for harder matches and level up the killer a bit, which is actually fun. There is a different play style at the higher skilled games than everything below it, the higher skilled games are very predictable on speed and difficulty of downs.

DBD community seems to forget the side they are playing against is supposed to have fun too.

scotty potty makes one video and here comes these post

Because it's supposed to be fun and it makes me play more.

You're 100% right.
Most of the complaints I've seen about SBMM are from killers that used to stomp on 99% of their games and now they don't.
Now the game is more challenging and they don't like that, quite simple.
Time to push your skill to the max guys LOL

games is supposed to be fun

So here is the tricky part, how a competitive person can have fun while being constantly denied of displaying competence?
But all players have something in common.
We all have the choice of leaving the game if it doesn't fit what we looking for, yet here we are.

The DbD Community changed the Definitions of a few words and phrases used on these forums a long time ago:
Fun = Easy, or casual experience
Boring = Challenging
Broken = Annoying
Meta = Predictable/Overused
Non-Meta = Meme
Over Powered/OP = "I don't get how to play around it, won't bother trying, so I'm gonna complain."
NOED = 1. A Vulgar word uttered to elicit attention from others, but its overuse only draws anger from them, and its usage is often seen as showing a lack of intelligence in the poster/commenter. 2. Often used in the title as an initiator of "Baiting" posts.
Toxic = A general community player
OP, Learn these altered definitions and it will enlighten you as to what most of the posters and commenters mean when they say stuff like:
"I just wanted a fun game with my friends, but ended up against a broken ass Pig player who was so boring to go up against, yet somehow still won. I mean WTAF, how have the devs left this OP PoS remain unchanged in the game for so long? It doesn't help how Toxic they were either."

Oh so the game is busted therefore I deserve to dunk on beginners?

What's fun for me is playing longer matches where we all do a lot and gain more points.
I had 3 matches back to back: one with a Judith's Tombstone Myers, one with a Wraith that wanted us to genrush and leave, and one with a Huntress that kept focusing on unhooked survivors (not tunneling but no chill). All three sucked because there was no gameplay going on.

Or how trying to endure and let the devs at least see how unbalanced some stuff is once both sides have comparable skill.
I believe after knowing how the devs think about some things in the game that they just don't know jack about parts of their game in term of balance and creating something fixed/comparable they have the chance to balance further.
If the matchmaking is just as random as everything else then there is not axis point to tip/balance any scales.
