If you're looking for advice on slinger please be careful on who you watch for tips, tricks and perk builds

Please:

Don't run tinkerer on slinger for the love of god. It's not worth

ESPECIALLY do NOT run tinkerer on slinger WITH MONITOR AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Monitor is good for weak slinger maps such as badham or lerys, but gets screwed by spine chill, SWF and is a wasted perk slot on a good map for him. It is nowhere near his best perk so do not treat it that way

Ruin undying is meh on him, Ruin pop is much better

NOED is unironically great on him

Don't use shadowborn unless you want to get addicted, you have been warned

Insta firing around corners does not work against good players who will take loops wider to have more dodging options. It is a great strat against weaker players just don't get in the habit of it unless you know you will hit the shot.

Prison chain is highly overrated, it gives you 0.233 seconds more assuming the chain is burning and the survivor is resisting. Use bayshores cigar/tobacco instead to help against predroppers

Reload/missed shot cool down add ons are addictive but carry his macro hard. If you want to learn how to control his 1v4 use 0 add ons unless you're having a bad day or memeing

He is NOT a good totem defender

Lethal is probably his 2nd best perk

No corrupt = instant lose

Ok advice over, I just wanted to vent after seeing 2 content creators unironically using tinkerer on slinger when they could be using Lethal, Save or anything else. You will lose with how map dependant he is if you don't have the right perks.

A good MMR build is Pop, Lethal, Save and Corrupt. Replace Pop with BBQ if you're getting baby survivors.

I'm so glad you mentioned NOED cus I do unironically use it on my Slinger once I found out that it counts as a basic attack if he whacks you while reeling in.

As a Deathslinger main, who on their sane judgment runs Tinkerer on him?

I am by no means a great slinger, but bloody hell... with his low mobility it's a pointless perk to run on him.

I don't know what you're on about with "no corrupt = instant lose". I haven't used this perk on Deathslinger ever, and I have a winning streak on him of ~40 games.

Corrupt is like free, built-in map pressure so I see why it is good on slinger as he lacks it. But as a deathslinger main, with lots of hours on him, I already know how to apply pressure effectively. If you consider yourself a good deathslinger, running Corrupt is just wasting a perk slot.

I personally run BBQ, Ruin, Save The Best For Last, and finally Monitor & Abuse. Gets me consistent wins.

I made a Deathslinger that has all exposed powers. MYC. DG. Corrupt. Forced Penance. They’re exposed often. If they body block the person being reeled in they become broken upon taking a protection hit. The idea is to typically leave players in a state where if I do manage to shoot them they’ll surely fall down in one hit. Cuts chases in half, but I don’t use him like that anymore.

I'd say if you're good slinger, it doesn't matter what perks you bring as long as you're on point.

Ofc amazing survivor teams who spread perfectly are not really beatable but that depends on many factors.

If they feel like using strange build, I say more power to them.

Other then that, M&A is great as it lets you get closer, if you're getting spine chilled, just learn to walk backwards to gens. Prison chains are great as long as you go for trick shots on very specifit tiles or for longshots. Good addons are addictiong on all killers, his ones are good but nothing crazy.

Finally, I'm extremely disappointed that there is 0 mention of surge. Use it, it's severly underrated on him, I'd take it over pop or ruin any day.

heaven forbid people run perks they want to run

I agree with you on M&A. I'm a bit tired of everyone always saying how strong M&A slinger is, but it doesn't really do much on maps where he already has LoS to shoot you unless survivors are just not paying attention in the first place.

The one Slinger build i always ran on him was as Follows:

    Stbfl. Montior Pop Corrupt,

The build i'm doing rn is: Ruin, Bw, Stbfl, Bbq. (just p3 level 50'd em. so not the Best perks.)

Bw is also a scary perk on slinger if you can manage to snag a last second shot at a exit gate,

Also a tip to people wanting to actually play slinger and main him 100%

    BE PATIENCE WITH HIS SHOTS,

Please... for the love of god. i've seen alot of slingers miss easy shots,

Like this vod for example. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1151788933 I missed acouple due to not being patience, but i was also exhausted that day..

Not my Best... But not my worst,

"noed is on ironically great on him" Yeah I already knew that but now that makes me curious what you would run for a no-holds-barred build like with noed. Bonus points of BBQ is included xD

I love using Rusted Spike (the Sloppy addon) with Nurse's Calling. It's fun af to shoot a survivor that is almost finishing healing lol.

I mean, Blood Warden is NOED's best friend, if you ask me. You do not even realistically need to stack other end game perks. Those 2 alone more than cover it.

I’ve never understood the use of prion chain. Any good slinger will know to only take shots they are confident they can get a hit out of.

I personally play him without corrupt but it is still probably his best perk

So... 'run the standard meta build'? no thank you.

I'll keep tinkerer, dark devotion, bloodhound and whispers.

Monitor is for people without skill who yet are too incompetent for camping with bubba

Nah, just don't run perk comboes that are deemed as "good" when they're mediocre at best. Too many content creators praise monitor as his best perk when all it does is help him on unbalanced maps and against solos (which don't get me wrong it is still decent just not his best perk).

You are much better off running lethal persuer over monitor any day of the week.

Monitor also ya know, doesn't make slinger easy by any means. He's one of the hardest killers to play in the game and a slightly reduced TR doesn't make you a god at aiming and predicting.

I run my aforementioned combo with either Jaw Smasher or Wanted Poster and Railroad spike. the former two help a little with aiming (due to affecting movement speed while aiming, including turning)

Depending on what playstyle you're going with, Tinkerer can actually be a great perk on Deathslinger.

Say you're aiming to get lots of value out of his baked in Deep Wound, so you're running either Sloppy or the Sloppy add on, then 3 perks that can give you info on other Survivors mid chase so you know where to go when you break chase. Stuff like Discordance, Hex: Retribution, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Deathbound, Oppression if you're feeling spicy, or even Gearhead if you're desperate. Tinkerer actually fits into that loadout really well and it heavily encourages the Survivors to heal and not just slam gens while injured because nobody wants to die for free to a Undetectable Deathslinger who just stepped around the corner.

M&A on Slinger is as overdone as Ruin/Undying Tinkerer on Blight.
