Apparently you just need to hold W and pre-drop pallets.
jokes aside, watch what the killer is doing and react accordingly. If you don’t already, get yourself experience as killer as well instead of only playing survivor. Seeing and actually experiencing the gameplay from the other side is very helpful and you will better understand the mechanics and what works/what doesn’t work.

Without knowing how you play, I can't give specific advise.
Learn how to loop tiles. Watch some videos to get the pattern. Then practice.
Always be aware of your surroundings. Be wary for undetectable killers, and always have escape plans for the directions a killer can approach from.
Items can be really strong, a simple brown med-kit can save your life. Toolboxes are best used on the final generators as opposed to the starting generators.

Prioritize gens and bring Kindred to help with saves. You don’t have to be a great looper to be a great Survivor just optimize your team well.
Play the game with purpose. Never be wandering around

Watch for the Killer's red stain when looping and try to predict their movement. And try to hug the wall as much as you can to save time.
Also dont do dangerous things, like trying to save someone from the basement, its incredibly dangerous.

By playing and making mental notes of your mistakes to correct them in your next match. You won't get better overnight but you'll get there.
Try to record your matches and watch them to see what you could've done better.

Figure out if the problem you are having is with the killers, other survivors, or yourself. You can use perks like Bond and Spine Chill to narrow down between the first two. If the problem is yourself, figure out what your weaknesses are and either build on them, use perks to give you a boost in that area, or rely on your strong points to make it through the match.
I really recommend Bond, it gives so much information on what is happening during the match. You can see where your teammates are so you don't lead the killer to gens in progress and you can see when they are in a chase and headed right towards you. Take note of what they are doing and react accordingly by either doing an objective or getting on the move.

Run windows of opportunity to get an idea of how the tile generation works and how to use it properly. Kindred also to get that really great information for Solo Q. You can also watch some God Survivors on how they handle getting chased like Probzz really good survivor. Apply what you observed in your matches.
Practice makes perfect.

Don´t run everywhere. Walk sometimes, so you don´t leave scratchmarks.
Altruism kills.
Don´t start instantly with a gen when the match starts. Wait a few seconds to see if the killer comes into your direction. Once he left, you´ll have plenty of time to do that gen.
Do bones. When you are not being chased, repairing gens or rescue someone, do bones.
Altruism kills.
Don´t be to greedy.
Altruism kills.
Sometimes its best to cut the losses and move on. Means, you don´t have to risk everything to get that one survivor out. See your teammates more as a means to escape.
And most importantly: Altruism kills.

By watching how good survivors play, try some YT guides.
You cab learn basics and some looping and the rest us just game sense that comes with experience.
Also remember playing killer as well, that helps a lot

Nah, with hit validation you actually want to camp pallets now.
