What are we (console players) supposed to do if we encounter a hacker?
Just had a match with 2 killers in the game, 2 nurses to be exact that just slugged majority of the game then killed me (the only console player) then let the other 2 players farm. They were only 3 survivors in the match. Does the in game report do anything?

It doesn't from what streamers say. I still report and also the devs want their steam Id and a video clip of the game if you can.

Thats pretty sad that it doesn’t do anything, why leave it there. I still reported them in the in game report system. I don’t think I can give them a steam ID but can show them a video clip/in game names.

In game names can be changed that why you need their steam Id. It more of a hassle for console then it is for Pcs. According to streamers they say it doesn't do anything. I'm not sure if it does anything so I still report in case it actually does.

Console reporting and Steam reporting is exactly the same - in-game reports have to be made in all cases, because we need to make sure that match actually occurred.
https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - this is the report form to Support, for things like you describe, we would need video evidence (nobody is banned without proof, regardless of amount of reports etc).

They don't bother banning people any more. Only people that trigger EAC get banned because they don't know what they are doing. Cheaters can hide their id and send you to other peoples profiles etc.

I don't even bother anymore with reporting. It takes an half a hour to make a report because you need to find people their steam id, and so on.
A report for 2 killers in the game shouldn't take 30 minutes.

i didn't see a single cheater that used the id spoofer hack in a while, im sure they've patched it
and they still do ban cheaters, every cheater i've reported got banned

really? everyone i watch doesn't bother any more if they are not a fog whisperer. The last one they showed directed them to some randoms page. It was a while ago though.

Every streamer I know who goes against someone hacking - reports them. I have only ran across 4 hackers in 5 years - and all have been reported. I am in a Discord of approx 200 streamers - Affiliates/Partners - most of whom play DBD. The consensus of the group is that failing to report is basically condoning such behavior. Any creator in the group who fails to report hacking in a game (any game) will be disallowed from the group. We believe in having integrity in gaming - and part of that is reporting cheaters. Every member of our group is an ambassador of the GLHF pledge. https://www.anykey.org/pledge

How do you know they are banned? I still see the same cheaters that I've reported and some of them stream on twitch, still nothing.
I've seen the same hacker for about 7-8 months and nothing has happened.

support will reply to you after they banned the cheater(usually saying "we will begin investigating for you and will take action if it's required")
also checking the cheater's profile

So why hasn’t this hacker I reported with video proof not been banned yet?

I don't remember ever getting one of those emails but I still see that the hacker still streams with the same account.

I’ve reported people and seen friends/family report people, and they were still playing months later. There’s also nothing to stop someone from just making a new account. BVHR still has no effective way to address the hoard of cheaters.

FYI If a streamer is cheating - if you report that to Twitch they will lose their account. Hacking/Cheating is against the ToS of Twitch and the other streaming platforms. Not sure why if you see a streamer cheating you wouldn't report them to their respective platform as well as BHVR.
If you want the problem to stop - you have to do more than post about it on a forum - you have to actually report people.

No family share could work and might make them at least waste more money.
If they erase VODS nothing happens, that is how people also evade the copyright, but yeah I mean hackers are still there after I report them.
But yes, I have also reported them though the actual support.

Reporting player is a huge waste of time

Me and a friend reported a streamer on Twitch for hacking. We checked back in 2 months and they were still streaming. With hacks. Very obvious hacks.

Cool - and I reported a streamer for hacking in DBD and his account was banned two days later.
I also reported a streamer for calling someone the "N" word and another for telling an LGBT person to end their life and calling them the "F" word - they were banned as well.

4 hackers in 5 years?? Sometimes I saw 4 in one day. You see streamers running into cheaters sometimes on a daily basis. I’m wondering if you’re just not observant enough.

If only we had similar experiences :/
Like I've had people banned in DBD regularly- for chat offences to hacking. But Twitch seems to do absolutely ######### all and it's really frustrating.

Nothing. As console player that reported some things a long time ago I tell you to leave it to Pc players to report. It takes a LOT of time and effort and really isn't worth it.

Honestly I wish people would stop posting hackers stuff they think is funny, like 2 killers and flying around. People see that the community laughs at it and makes them want to do it but than we get mad when we see it in game.

It makes me so mad they got rid of video recording on the switch.
