Here's hoping that part 2 of the update mentions the bot mode
The July developer update stated that we were to get an offline bot mode to coincide with the online turtorial bot mode already in the game. For some reason this never happened, and there's been no clarification as to why. Not only would a bot mode be a great way to practice, but considering how sweaty the matches are thanks to SBMM, it would be a great way to blow off some steam.

It did happen, it's the "survive with bots" and the "kill the bots" mode in the getting started mode.

That was already implemented prior to the update. The offline mode was to be entirely separate from that.

To me it looks like they are referring to the same thing

They mentioned that bot matches are already available in the live version of the game. The offline matches were to be something entirely different. But if they were somehow referring to the live version as being the offline version (which would be beyond confusing) this could have easily been cleared up by any developer or moderator, but no one has said anything.

I wouldn’t count on it right now. It is a possibility, sure.
but there is other stuff that would make sense to come in this midchapter and covering the part 2:
- New survivor and Boon totems/perks
- Realm Beyond Update (map graphic update)
- Halloween Event
i do think the real bot mode is still being worked on/planned though.

Survive with bots? sounds like your average Soloq match

And that is disheartening. It stated that you would be able to practice anything that you learned in a real world scenario, but until you can use any killer or perks that you want, then it's simply disappointing.

The current tutorial matches are basically training mode in a Street Fighter game, but you can only play as Ryu.
And your opponent is always Ken.
And you can't see the moves list.
And special attacks are disabled.
What I'm getting at is it isn't very useful, apologies if I have been too subtle.

And that's precisely why the description did not match what they were describing. The way it was discussed made it appears as if it were an entirely separate mode.

Would it be so difficult to just be able to replace X amount of players with bots in kyf? The killer bots wouldn't have to be particularly good but people could practice flashlight saves and such without throwing in public games, and people could try and get the basics of new killer powers down without the stress, even if MMR helps a bit with that

Ok but what about the potential deletion of Hag? You've already broke the OPs heart, don't break mine 😥

I agree. At the very least I would hope that they would include more Killers within that mode other than Trapper.

Oh come on now, there's more than enough heartache to go around. LOL

Well that’s incredibly disappointing. There’s no bot mode in the game currently. There’s an extremely bare-bones tutorial on one map, with one killer who just walks at you swinging at your back and missing, but that’s far from a bot mode.

Could you fellas possibly consider adding bots to custom games? It would be really nice to be able to play with and against bots, and maybe be able to play with bots against a friend, or vice versa.
