Would appreciate a dev response. Is there any plans to address the long killer queues since sbmm?
When SBMM was first released with the Pinhead patch, my red rank killer queues went from instant to 5 - 7 minutes (regardless of time of day, and I play in a populated area of NA). At first, I thought this was due to lots of people playing Pinhead--a new killer release generally slows down queues for a few days.
But I and other killer mains are all reporting the same thing--drastically longer killer queues.
Killer is already the much more stressful role, and waiting 5 - 7 minutes (EVEN DURING PEAK TIME IN THE EVENING) is killing my desire to play.
Is there any plans to address this?

i ended up having to wait half an hour max today for a couple of games. it's actually kinda insane. idk what's going on with matchmaking times again urgh...

Clearly killers are gaining a higher mmr than survivors are

You... You're joking, right?
You have to be joking. This is 100% a joke.

It's taking longer to match killers with survivors. This implies one of two things, or both things are correct in some way.
- There are more killers at a higher mmr level than survivors which makes matching killers with the appropriately ranked survivors.
- There are more killers queueing up than survivors.
This has everything to do with queue times.

Essentially if the MMR is working, it means that there are more high ranked killers than high ranked survivors, meaning that they're waiting longer to get paired with people that match them.
Idk if I really buy that though because the queue times were the total opposite before now, with survivors waiting forever to get into a match even with low rank killers and killer queue being nearly instant.

With the changes to MMR, there is more incentive to play killer. Before MMR you could only play with your main, if you don't feel like playing your main then your choices are to get bullied or to play survivor. Now killers can play other killers. That's naturally going to start skewing things towards having more killers. In addition you only need 1 killer per 4 survivors, so it doesn't even have to happen all that often for it to tip the balance. And if there is an inbalance of skill and there are more high mmr killers then survivors then that spreads killers even more thin. How much each factor plays a role has not been shared by BHVR. The problem can be partially resolved if there was an incentive for playing a specific role based off of the queue times. So let's say that there's a high queue time for low MMR killers, because I'm bad with Nurse and have low MMR with her I could get some kind of UI notification saying, if you play with Nurse, 3X BPS for that match, but Blight who I'm good with would only give me BPS at the regular amount.

Queue times were always more dependent on time of day. I could get faster survivor queues than killer queues in the middle of the day, but that'd flip by the evening.

This is how to address it: make freaking solo Q and Survivor in general more fun to play. Then you get faster killer Qs.

What can they do about it, increase the pool of players that you can be matched with? Then it isn't an mmr system anymore, it's just the old ranking system again where your mmr/rank doesn't noticeably affect anything.

My queues got a lot longer after the initial test, not sure why. But, after I complained here a few days ago, my queues have gotten a lot shorter... so maybe yours will get better! Posting on here might be like cleansing a totem...
Well, they can't restrict the pools too much, otherwise they will run into problems like long queue times. I imagine that they're calculating a mean from some set of data, and the pool of players you're matched with stay within a variance from that mean. Like, if no players are available within the mean of a persons SBMM, then venture out one standard deviation, etc..
Granted, I don'tknow how they calculate that mean. Find the mean of a given player's performance, then take the mean of a portion of the population that falls within s certain range? I've heard setting up an MMR system is incredibly complicated.

Someone tell me again that complaining is not a solution. Living example here

Hey! lol

I complained about queue times and my queues are short. I am starting to see a correlation, here.
