Boon Totems to be the survivors second objective?
I was thinking that they could serve that purpose. However, what's the point in having them if a knowledgeable team understands how to clear 5 gens in less than 10 minutes? Who needs a boon without a bane? Should we assume some buff is coming for killer that will make the boon totems necessary and/or useful? Because the way the game is currently, they don't seem to fit.

Possibly a perk slot just for hex for killer.

Think about you think its a secondary objectif for survivor but its a 3 or 4 objectif for killer so its a good thing they do that

If this were the case, then are they adding more totems? Because you can't accommodate a killer running 4 hex perks, and a survivor running a boon perk, simultaneously, without more totems.

I think it will be perks that survivors should got to find and lit dull totem into a boon. Or even convert hex totem into boon but for longer time.
Effect from boon totem should be significant. Something like entity don't block windows after 3 vaults. Or survivor can make a dropped pallet out of broken one. Or slow health regeneration while injured.
And killer will be able to just stomp boon totem in one second instead of manual cleansing.

Yes you can, there are 5 totems. Even if they run Haunted, it turns dull afterwards so they can use a boon.

At the beginning of the match, all 5 totems will be occupied, meaning that no boon can exist until at least one is cleansed. So, say the killer does a damn fine job, and prevents any survivors from cleansing any totems. No boon will ever be allowed on the board, ergo my point stands.

It will be a perk that only activates when survivors "bless" a totem and which only stays active as long as there's a totem.
Since its "high risk" it will have massive benefits.

Actually, I forgot about Hex Plaything too. You can block them even without a shaman build.

Well, its constantly tossed around about a survivor rebuilding a totem into a boon. So, break the dull or lit totem then create a boon.
If a killer just defends all the totems constantly, then well ignore your boon and gen rush, ez win.
This keeps the normal number of totems in the match as well as making it take some time for a survivor to put up.

If survivors can already bang out 5 gens in less than 10 minutes, how massive could those benefits be? Also, why are they necessary? Unless there is some major nerf coming to survivors, or major buffs coming to killers, I don't see why they would need boon totems.

What if there was a boon that made gens... Even faster. Think about the potential, FellowKillerMain.

Didn't think about rebuilding totems! That's gotta be it. But damn... survivors are already strong. I can't imagine it being a valuable time investment versus working on a gen.

10 minutes? I've seen 5 gens gone in 4 minutes. 3 when BNP were involved.

Someone would have to report me for unsportsmanlike conduct! XD

Yep, extremely worried for this new system. Hopefully more changes to suit it because its gonna hurt killers really bad to have to also go break them in the current state.
