New Freddy idea

I love the sleep radius, automatically go to sleep when he's near, that would fix his biggest problem right there. Having people hallucinate blocked windows or pallets would make sense since it's Freddy. But I don't think Hallucinate should be his power because then he'd be a weak Doctor with no real power. Everyone wants a Killer that looks like a Survivor but that's just not Freddy, he does it in the movies but it's not hismain thing.
What if, his Lullaby puts you to sleep and the longer you're in there you have a Fear meter like the Madness from Doctor and the higher your fear the more things you see, like Doctor. So he could be like Doctor but better since his actual power would be something different.

The next problem is your idea with changing the environment. Can pallets and windows still be interacted with even if it looks like a wall? Or is like Doctor where the pallets get replaced?
You also mention,"...his actual power be something different." Does that mean these other changes proposed are just effects of the actual power? Too much of this thread in general is left vague. For example, "This will make him better and more viable since he kinda sucks." This statement would be better if the user defined what they thought sucked with Freddy instead of being vague.2 -

:Freddy UPDATE: Freddy will have his sleep lullaby, when a survivor is in his lullaby radius (Is lullaby radius will 25 meters) a survivor has 60 seconds to run or hide in a locker,When you are asleep you will gain a fear bar the more it is filled the more the player will hallucinate, pallets and windows will apear fake or blocked from a distance of 16 meters (no add-ons can effect this) when the bar is filled Freddy will apear to be a survivor when the survivor gets out of the chase, only way to tell the difference from him and the others is his hands, His power will be to see players that are awake (Only when they are out of his terror radius or if they are in a locker the new perks can be helpful because survivors will hide in lockers more often to hide)0

A list of important questions:
-Does he have to wait for them to go to sleep for 60 seconds or can he attack and it puts them in the Dream World automatically?
-Where's the pressure that surivors would have to stop doing objectives?
-What's to stop them from spending 55 seconds on a gen, just to vault a window?
-If his Lullaby grazes a survivor, do they go into the Dream World regardless, or is it proximity based?
-Does Freddy have to stay by the survivor for a full minute to make them fall into the Dream World, or does he have to be around them for at least 5 seconds before they start falling into the Dream World?
-Is the Dream World permanent?
-Is the way that survivors are immediately put into the Dream World reliant on the system we have now or is it different in your idea?
Overall I think 1 minute just to interact with survivors is harsh and unrewarding if they can escape in 3 minutes. Of course, I'm only assuming that, it could be different in your explanantion.0 -
After watching a video regarding rankings the other day (and how Freddy placed dead last on PC, yet was first place on consoles) I started thinking on what could potentially help improve him...
Problem is, and what most players may fail to see, is that if they buff Freddy...he could be far TOO powerful on console.
And dividing up killer changes from PC/console would be a nightmare for devs.First...Freddys glove 'swipe' should be a two stage attack.
The first one (just one mouse click) is his current attack (range and all), but if you hold and charge it (think a bit more like Legion) it has the potential to instantly down a full health survivor when it connects.
But suffers from the same small range, slightly longer recovery time, etc.His dream world state should be far more interesting also. Heck. it should be based off of the original movies where the dreamworld was used against the teenagers to mess with them/cause them to hurt/kill themselves.
Perhaps when they're in the dreamworld they see illusions? Lets say a pallet was used previously and was broken by the killer, while in the dream world a survivor may see this pallet and it looks like it's able to be used, etc.
Or brief illusions of other survivors, etc.Such as...they're running from Freddy, but at random they may see another survivor or even Freddy himself (when it's actually neither).
Other options may include self-harm in the dreamworld as a damage over time, or similar ideas.
There is TONS of range with Freddy, even more so when you look back on his movie history over the years.
So many great/fun ideas...equally so with levels too!!!! (Just sayin'!)0 -
