Could boon totems be strong against camper?
They cannot leave the hook to interact with the totem. So if it works like that, the boon effect would stay up the entire time.
I still hope the effect will not be too strong, bc some killer (trapper, hag) or situations (3gen) dont allow map sightseeing. Not that time management isnt tough on every killer.

Boin totem are probably goung to be op because killer dont have time to look for them imagine the killer bring no hex and survivor use 4 boon totem that killer will probably be #########

Tbh a boon totem that actively punishes camping would be a really cool idea, e.g. while the totem is blessed, if the killer is within x meters of a hooked survivor, the entity progression bar is slowed by 50%.

Depends on what Boon Totems effects are, we still don't know what they do exactly.

The problem I find with boon totems, besides giving killer more crap to do when they are already pressed for time, is how strong they can be in mass. The devs clearly don't think all 4 survivors will bring the same OP perks each match. If a boon perk is even remotely strong than 4 of them will be unfair.

I mean, like I said, we don't know exactly how they will work. We don't know if they stack, if they have massive buffs, individual buffs, or whatever. All that is being done is speculating about how overpowered a new mechanic that isn't in the game yet will be.

The Devs tried something like this, once.
It was abused, as always, by SWF tryhards.

Because it was a default mechanic, no perks required. Making it a boon totem means it could be removed by the killer.

I actually like that idea even though I enjoy a good face camping now and again.

Boon: Camaraderie
After blessing a totem, Boon: Camaraderie activates.
If another survivor is within 16 meters of your hook while Boon:Camaraderie is active, the timer is paused for 26/30/34 seconds, once per phase.
The totem is revealed for the same duration to the killer.

That's a fair point, but I wish the devs would kind of add this type of nerf to camping into the base game at some point.

As someone else said, the devs tried it before, but it was abused by survivors ust staying next to the hook.

regardless of whatever boon totems are gonna be designed to do, killers should not be punished for camping.

The one thing Im afraid the most is Survivors bring in 5 Boon and my Noed doesnt have a place to use.

Did I ask?

I don't know if I recall correctly, but the current 'penalty' doesn't apply to killers when other survivors are near the hook, correct?
Similarly, why not have these 'progression slows' only apply if a survivor isn't near the hook but the killer is? That seems a bit harder for SWFs to take advantage of, unless I'm just too tired to think straight.

I wonder if boon perks will have their own totems? For that very reason. I can picture survivors in the group chat saying "Everyone bring a boon perk so we don't have to cleanse totems for fear of noed."

I doubt they'd ever add that because that is already a failed anti camp mechanic they have tried(The slowed sacrifice within X meters of the hook).
It also would just result in the same exploiting that happened before with it that got it removed.
Let alone think about this in a 3 gen scenario where the killer is forced to be around the hooked survivor.

i'm still not convinced that boon totems will be enough to make the killer go and find it, so as of right now no. possibly? i'm still going to say no.

They did. It did not work.

That would be an interesting idea actually, never thought about that.
Yeah something like this would be nice. You could go another way and make the slow down amount dependent on the number of gens remaining. 100% slower at 5 gens if the killer is within 16m, 75% at four, 50% at three, 25% at 2, and 0% at one, something like that. You could also show the aura of the totem to the killer when they are within 16m to entice them to leave the hook.

I am actually going to run HG, HDH, Ruin, and Undying in the PTB and live just. Maybe it will be the only build I play on all Killers from here on out - when boon totems come out.
Unless they make it so that the Killer can hex dull totems to choose where their hex perks go, and give Killer the ability to see dull totem auras when they have a perk to hex.

Take it easy. I assure you this isn't a real perk, one might call it... a concept. All things are subject to change. Stipulations can be added, numbers can be adjusted, you have no need to fear.

If you're talking about the example you gave with a survivor on a hook and one slugged next to them, just add a stipulation stating the perk is only active if no other survivor is within a given range.
Hopefully that answers your question because i'm not interested in a back and forth.

It's gonna be just one with all of the effect of the other boom totem, it means that there can be only one boon totem on the map.

But didn't the update also say they will have cumulative effects? It sounds like they mean if they bring 4 of the same boon the affect will stack. The affect could be so small it won't even be noticed but it still gives me cause to worry. It's not the first time they broke their own game and it won't be the last.

From what i understood, it's that, when a boon totem get blessed that totem have all the boon totem (that the survivor equipped) on that totem, and then we get into speculation territory, maybe when they get cleansed it's a bye bye all boon totem, or just the boon totem that one survivor used, or something else, we still can't be sure.

I'm pretty sure a mod clarified that if a killer finds+cleanses a boon totem, it turns back into a dull totem.
