So what's going to happen to green keys?
I'm curious because hatch and keys have been nerfed for good reasons but what about broken keys. It's objectively worse then a skeleton key so will they make it better or will it continue to be useless?

It's not completely useless.
You can use it's add-on to have aura reading in place of another perk.

U still can use them as aura keys as they were used before. Nothing changed here.

Yeah but that's only for 10 seconds while the skeleton key has 30 seconds and can open hatch making green keys worse.

They should delete it. Its the most broken item in the game.

They're probably going to be changed once devs finalise their grand plan to make mories and keys part of everymatch gameplay.
For now with this fast fix to keys, they're staying as bad as they were before. Let's wait what they have in store for them in the future.

I think Green Keys are going to he deleted soon enough. In the anniversary they talked about making keys and Mori's base game mechanics.
In my mind, that translates to Mori's as offerings and Key's (and all it's add-ons) as being retired in favor of the changes. I really hope they do, it'd clean up some sort of clutter on the survivor blood-web. Removing Mori's would have a lot less of an impact, but still something.
I could be wrong though.

I’d like to see green keys have some use without add ons. I hate running Plunderer’s Instinct and finding a green key in a chest. 💀

Brown toolbox is also worse than purple toolboxes, green map is worse than rainbow map, yellow flashlight is worse than purple flashlight, brown medkit is worse than purple medkit, it's kinda how items work

I can only hope devs someday will make it live, but it would be rly awesome if green key would be reworked into following:
Green Key: 12 Charges. Use 6 charges to instantly open chest, upon loosing all charges, key breaks.

Green Keys will become normal keys and just serve to open the hatch. Purple keys will open the hatch, but also open the hatch for the survivor while they are in the dying state. Pink keys will do everything that purple keys do, but they will also open an exit gate 75% faster. I just made all this up.
