While I agree people have a tendency to overreact on this game. The fact is there have been times when we said "That's going to break the game" and we were absolutely right. Old MoM is a prime example. This is why I believe in learning from your mistakes so you don't repeat them. Instead BHVR would rather pretend nothing wrong ever happened.

Prove me a 56m bubble that makes me invisible isn't broken and I will calm down. Cause as i mentioned in other topic u can put boon in main building and loop forever.

The healing boon is scary honestly.

Maybe it is OP. But instead of just posting random comments, go and prove it by playing games.

What do i need to prove u? That killer has to randomly figure out where am I? Or hope im close enough to hear my footsteps?

And if he leaves to clean boon, i already won.

I would agree with you if games weren't over in sub 6 minute times vs good survivors against M1 killers. Being able to pull off a heal on the order of 4-6 seconds with a green medkit at a strong tile with the new circle of healing can totally be a game changing moment. Get chased -> get hit -> go to jungle gym/strong tile loop that is in circle of healings effect -> throw pallet down -> heal yourself before kicking animation ends -> reset chase at full health.

What is the killer supposed to do? Abandon the chase to kick the boon? Continue to chase the survivor? Give up instantly when he hears the chime of the boon and sees the pallet still up? The game does not last long enough for these kinds of interactions to be good.

I just want to know who all these survivors are that will spend time blessing totems because they must be ones that are willing to cleanse dull totems to prevent NOED, right? Why don't I get these survivors as teammates to help me cleanse totems and prevent NOED???

And losing a tradition on this forums? nah...

How about killers rehex totems just like survivors can rebless? How about that?

Wouldn't that make it fair? I mean, given that you seem to be interested in being "fair" for the whole community

Hey, I don't need to taste a poop nugget to know it tastes like crap. Some things are just obviously broken.

You can anticipate its not that good due to the negative effect bind with it. But you can also tell its situationally very good on a SWF to save a tunelled mate.

    Or can't you ?

I can as in concept its a strong perk, just like about 80% of all of dbd's perks

Just because a perk is OP on paper doesn't mean its OP in gameplay, because I can pull alot more perks out that seem OP on paper, but are only usable with other perks

    Two survivors bring boom totems

You bring the usual undying + ruin combo

As usual, your hex totem goes away, but not destroyed, it's actually now an AoE buff for survivors. You go as a killer and destroy the blessing, making it now a normal area

Then survivors go back and rebless it

    And it happens again

    And again

But you already lost your two totem perks, but survivors can keep using theirs

    What do you do then?

Please, do tell me, what's the counterplay here? Now the area that you're protecting because that's where your totem is is now a place where you don't see scratch marks and survivors can heal themselves without medkits

Please ,do tell me, what's the counterplay here?

Destroy the blessing? They can just rebless the totem, as many times as they'd like while the killer gets two perks or one perk taken from them

    "ThEN dOn'T rNun hEx Prks"

That's not a real solution, with that you're admitting that they introduced a mechanic that completely decimates another mechanic. One thing is to go around the map and do totems to prevent/destroy a hex, another thing is completely negating it and also giving ALL survivors a buff for that.

But this one FTP is not OP. I dont know what we're talking about anymore.

Mettle of Man was OP. So are some boon totem perks already #GazOnFire

Cool, and Killers can now break totems as well.

    We negate each other

"Most perks are OP on paper and release" Do people just not read the whole thing? Perks can be OP on paper and not OP in game, Perks can also be OP while being OP in game

People also need to understand what a test build is because releasing something OP into a test build is ALOT easier to balance than if you release something weak into a test build, you are acting like BHVR just dropped Boons into the live build and are having us basically "play with fire against our will" in live servers, and I could honestly care less if you do the "This is BHVR" stuff this time as making something OP in an uncompleted build is healthier than anything else bhvr has done, makes balance way easier if done properly, and clearly with this update bhvr is showing that they know what they are doing this time. God its so hard to explain balance like this anymore because the counterargument is always just "BHVR bad, pls fix" when thats not how a game of this caliber works because you can NEVER balance anything properly in an assymetrical game, just understand that this is a test build and everything is subject to change, hell bhvr is watching to make sure they don't release to be OP, because a ptb is basically us testing out what is to possibly come.

And Mettle of Man was OP because it was never tested in a PTB if I believe, it was kinda just dropped on us out of the blue and the only testing possible with it was through a bug in KYF lobbies, which isn't really a good way of testing as I don't think bhvr tracks kyf things, and due to the perk only being usable in KYF nothing was ever changed about it, and the complaints about it were most likely tracked still for the future to see if they could change the perk in a way that fits Ash.

Is that a better way of explaining it because I can explain it even more if I wanted to

  • Hektic3000
    Hektic3000 Member Posts: 674

Yeah I'm gonna say no that you don't need to try everything and somethings can just be op. Anybody that remembers old Mettle of Man can tell you that because that perk was busted without even needing to try it, who even knows how that made it into the game in its original state. People are valid to criticize things early if they seem too strong.

  • RandDBD
    RandDBD Member Posts: 93

Then why are you people making a fuss out of other people complaining? If you were actually giving Feedback you'd just explain why the perks are balanced, good, or situational.

We are complaining that the current state of the game makes it so boom perks are outirght too powerful and also giving examples as to why they are while you people are only telling us to stop complaining, let it Flow, dont voice concern.

IT'S A PTB WE NEED TO VOICE OUR OPINION AS TO WHETHER THIS CHANGE IS GOOD OR BAD YET YOU ARE ONLY TELLING US WHY OUR OPINION IS EXAGGERATED WHILE NOT SAYING WHY THE PERK IS A NO ISSUE.

  • Hoodied
    Hoodied Member Posts: 13,020

I never said to not give feedback I just basically said that you shouldn't say "Game bad, fix" like how people tend to say something is OP but give a terrible explanation on why. Never assume something is OP immediately or weak immediately or else Boon totems will be as strong as launch Freddy, I also said this was a PTB which means everything is subject to change and due to it being an old build according to the devs, some stuff could have already changed by now.

Stop assuming things I never said, I basically just overexplained how bhvr themselves said to not just tell them "FPS bad fix" and actually explain it in a full way

I also mentioned in my first comment that most perks are OP but terrible in gameplay, never said ALL perks, just most. I also never said in this thread about Boon's balance yet because well I can't put a full input on them yet until I see how strong they can be played, due to Boons being balanced around High Risk, High reward, they are already incredibly hard to balance as is, hence why its in a ptb.

I think thats good enough explanation, basically read it fully and don't only pull the negatives out of everything, do both

Oh it's so easy to play it neutral.

Take a stand for Christ's Sake.

All this wall of text just to say "well, we'll see, I will not say either way is right or wrong but will tell you why people from both sides are wrong"

That's so childish and demonstrates a lack of character

  • nicnc82

I think they're fine. Geez killers whine and cry so much it's pathetic.

  • Hoodied
    Hoodied Member Posts: 13,020

I could honestly care less about if its childish or not

  • Superyoshiegg
    Superyoshiegg Member Posts: 1,489

Being neutral and willing to understand both sides of an issue is hardly childish.

What is childish is incessant complaining about things that haven't been released and have barely any details on. See these forums the past few days (and before every update).

Voicing concern and posting feedback is more useful that complaining about people voicing their concern and posting feedback.

See my past posts and all the posts here attacking people for talking and giving feedback.
