Oh no survivors are now looking for totems. R.I.P Hex perks ??

Do you really think this will happen? I am not quite sure. But the fact is that this whole Boon story is creating a lot of action and let's be honest. I prefer Boonperks more than BT, DS, DH etc. How do you see it ?

Cleanse all totems. Prevent NOED, get 1000k BP and enjoy the nice sound of bones breaking. If they wanted to bless the totem they would've found it faster.

I hope that killers cleansing boons destroys the totem, instead of converting it to a dull totem. It's not like killers need dull totems for anything other than Thrill of the Hunt and NOED, which both pretty bad.

well, survivors especially in solo play will be at each other's throats. One wants to break totems, the other wants to bless them. That can be something :)

I doubt these perks will remain as they are without changes. Even if they are not going to change, i don't think that most players will prefer to rely on totem perks when they can use better perks.

This right is here is my main thing I'm questioning about how much thought actually went into this or if BHVR is just adding things to add things

In a game where teamwork already feels damn near impossible for solo players, now they want to introduce a mechanic where half the team wants to do bones while the other half desperately wants to make sure all bones survive...

I just don't quite get BHVRs logic here

hexes might have powerful abilities, but overall there weak since survivors have many tools to get rid of them. killers don't even have a reliable way of defending them either. only a select few hexes are even worth using and most are designed to be broken.

this is why hexes and totems need to be changed (i have a post detailing a few ideas on how to do that).

I don't think boon totems change much about hex perks tbh.

In my games my Ruin and Undying were usually gone within the first 30 seconds of the match anyways. I don't see how boon totems could make that any worse.

Playing around with hextotems is very critical. They are very powerful. But I am confident that we will still experience one or the other surprise in the future.

Hexes were dying already. I can't believe people still use Ruin/Undying. Guess they're just high rollers who get the best totem spots and have them up all game. Everyone else has wised up and stopped using perks that can be destroyed. Now hexes are completely dead because of boon totems, because the survivor has extra incentive to look for totems. It's disappointing because Plaything was so well designed, so I thought we were entering a new era of hex perks actually being good. Now it's all over.

You're not wrong - that's true. I'm also experimenting a lot at the moment, especially when it comes to hexes, and I'm also strongly assuming that there will be fewer hexperks played in the future.

That's the ironically funny thing with the killer perk buffs in the this patch. 4 of 5 are hexes and thrill even became completely useless without boon perks in play, it doesn't give an audio queue when a totem is worked on (which could've been too strong against boons) but up to 7 extra seconds on totems won't help much when they killer doesn't even know that their totem is getting cleansed at this moment. And running this to help undyings aura reading time is a ridiculous thought, to run even one more otherwise useless hex perk to protect the main hex.
