I never thought I'd see they day the devs call wraith a little OP and say his lunge was too strong.

In all fairness, he's very strong up until Survivors realize they can vault various objects or use headphones.

When will people realise that OP just means "too strong" and not "unbeatable"? I highly doubt one add-on nerf and a 1/4 second decrease on the duration of his speed boost is going to be that impactful.

I main Wraith and felt high lunge was a bit over tweaked. That said, yeah he was hardly over powered.

Reducing his lunge 20% means he won't be able to catch up in a lot of loops anymore. Do you seriously think he is too strong?

There is absolutely no reason to call him "too strong" under any circumstance aside from versing potatoes. While the aura reading add on was annoying it wasn't op.

And hit and run playstlyes are nerfed with the new Healing Circle totem, killer has no time to get value from not commiting to chase anymore if this totem is in play with how fast they can heal.

I think they simply don't think how something can be seen by the public and are just careless with their wording.

Well I'm sure they didn't say it for no reason. They are devs and so they have statistics to every wraith match and how it goes, he just was preforming too "Overpowering" to them so they wanted to adress that.
But aside from the seriousness, yes funny joke.

Don't worry about it, The people at that play both sides. we just have to laugh a bit.
For reference, My solo-queue games survivor games vs Wraith are similar.

He was very overpowered. I hardly ever saw a game against him that wasn't a 4K. His lunge was too much and it gave him too many free hits. I don't think they nerfed the lunge quite enough but will see.

If they keep this up, he's gonna become a joke once more. He was almost there! Almost at the level where he could compete with a top team! I'm assuming it will only go downhill for him from here.

The person who wrote that dev note really messed up I think
If it were me, I would've written something along the lines of:
"The recent buffs to the Wraith have exceeded our expectations, we decided that we may have overtuned him a tiny bit - therefore we're adjusting a problematic addon and reducing his post-uncloak lunge speed to what it was before his last buff. We will continue to monitor him going forward."

Right, overtuned him by reducing his uncloaking speed from 2ms to 1.6ms and thus making his biggest weakness - chase - even bigger.

Isn't the point of Wraith to catch people who are not in loops since that is entirely unavoidable for the survivor? Especially since he gets a speed boost after uncloaking...why waste your speed boost in loops at all

I absolutely hated going against Wraith. He needed these changes. Not surprised to see people defending him, though. I guess people liked playing an easy killer and get free hits constantly.

If he's not good at looping then you don't need to loop with that killer... not buff his kit so that he is stronger at what he already does
