Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

My normal build is Pop, Ruin, Save, and BBQ.

Yeah it's basic, but it works.

If I'm playing for fun, though, I like to run Dream Pallets, Agitation, Fire Up, Shadow Born, and BBQ.

Yeah mine is kinda basic too. Ruin/pop/tink most of the time.

Which add ons are you using?

Honestly, they're all bland and forgettable, so I don't really bother most of the time. Sometimes I'll run the ones that make things louder just for shits and giggles, though.

The most efficient combo on Freddy is Pop/Thrilling Tremors/Tinkerer. The synergy with his ability is too good. Say you down someone in chase. A Tinkerer noti has gone off or did short before the downing. Mind game a teleport to Tinkerer gen, pick up survivor. 90% of the time. Tinkerer gen is now blocked by Thrilling. Hook survivor, teleport to said gen, Pop it, get right back on the hunt.

4th perk slot is pretty much whatever you want it to be. Surge has been sitting in that spot lately though for me.

Freddy doesn't have amazing synergy with other perks. But if you want to try something "unique", try this build on for size:

Ruin/Surveillance/STBFL/Fourth perk your choice (though preferably Undying)

The purpose of this build is to make use of Surveillance to keep generators hostage by using your teleports the moment they touch generators with Surveillance. Which you will get information on with Ruin. STBFL is here purely to help with chases since he is a basic M1 killer.

That sounds really interesting, thanks for the suggestion.

That idea sounds sick. I will probably do that. I guess add in corrupt for the proper overkill experience.

    PGTW

    STBFL

    BBQ

    Surge Jolt

I know, Surge? Just trust me when I say Surge and STBFL get phenomenal use on Freddy and are so definitely worth the perk slot.

But if you're feeling extra creative, eruption is low-key amazing on him too.

The build I'm using lately isn't the best Freddy build, but is fun and I've been enjoying it a lot. It is... Impossible Skillchecks. On Freddy, yeah. Or maybe you could call it the skillcheck regression build.

Add-ons: Blue Dress and Green Dress. This will increase the penalty when a survivor fails a skillcheck in the dream world.

Since survivors are oblivious while in the dream world, there's no point in using Unnerving Presence+Distressing, this perks don't sinergize with this build at all.

So, the perks are the following: Hex: Huntress Lullaby, Overcharge, Oppression and Pop Goes the Weasel.

It's simple: Huntress Lullaby increases the penalties even further and makes the skillchecks harder to hit. Overcharge generates a hard skillcheck with additional 5%. regression. Oppression forces a skillcheck on survivors working on gens. Pop takes a lot of progress from gens you kick, having some nice sinergy with Oppression and Overcharge (also, the perk is so good it helps making this build viable).

I've played with this build against streamers and then watched the match later through their perspectives. A single failed Overcharge skillcheck in the dreamworld with 5 stacks of Huntress Lullaby takes a huge ammount of gen progress. It awakes the survivors, but that's not so much of a problem. If anything, you will soon just put them to sleep again by hitting them.

Devour Hope + Make Your Choice + Haunted Grounds + BBQ for points

At least 1 mori per game.

Barbecue & Chilli is basically a requirement.

The best build I have run on him is Barbecue & Chilli, Brutal Strength, Make Your Choice, and Pop Goes The Weasel

BBQ tells you where to teleport when you hook someone, brutal to kick the gen faster to get into the chase quicker (don't lose the survivor). Make Your Choice if you can't find a survivor so you can tele back to hook and chase the savior instead. MYC also is good to tracking Decisive Strike.

Anything with dead man's switch and class photo. The perk also works well on (current) prayer beads spirit
