Pinhead's Box is Literally Impossible to Solve Sometimes
The Lament Configuration constantly spawns chains that reset the completing of the Lament Configuration. I already knew this happened, but damn, its starting to really irritate me.

I have died 5 times due to it. It's not even me pulling my box-knapping schtick, it's when Pinhead finds or someone else gets caught with the box and I have to get the box to stop the chain hunt.

This is actually a problem. I don't know if it's intentional or not but its really annoying and impossible to solve.

This bothers me, too. What I've seen people say is that the portals spawn before they fire chains, so, when it seems like new chains are spawning to interrupt you, actually there was a portal you didn't see. And then the advice is to dodge all of the chains and somehow make sure there are no portals 360-degrees around you before you start solving.
IMO, it's too difficult to do that. By the time I dodge the last set of chains and try to turn in a circle, new portals have already spawned.

This should go away. While solving the box you should not be targeted by chains.
However I would like to add that the survivor in the video just stood still and did not even try to get to a better location to solve the box. When you are out in the open chains can spawn and hit you from everywhere. Go into a corner or behind some cover and you get a better chance at solving it because the chains can no longer hit you.

They will spawn in clusters of 3 at a time. Chain 1, Chain 2, Chain 3, break. During this break, when you've heard the third chain go and you know you've dodged it is when you start solving. That break is long enough to move out of the way and begin the box, preventing any further chains from spawning.
Don't look for the portals, listen to the number of chains.

Anecdotally, it's intentional to punish survivors who take too long to pick up the box and solving it. Which is a reason that has merits to it.
The issues arise because there are situations where it's outside the power of the survivors to solve the box timely (e.g. the killer starts the chain hunt, or the box carrier gets found, maybe with Hoarder, and chased). Not to mention that there shouldn't be a game mechanic that counters its counter.
Imho, the easiest solution coding-wise, while offering a happy medium, would be to make it solving the box longer during the chain hunt and chains interrupt the action BUT progress is maintaned (again, only during the chain hunt).
