Fellow Spirit enjoyers
Please don’t retire from playing her because of her upcoming nerf. She will still be a very strong killer, but will be a strong killer with counterplay from the survivor side. A killer having counterplay doesn’t make them dead in any way because killers like Blight and Oni have counterplay but are some of the best killers in the game. Us Spirit enjoyers will get through this if you’d just trust me, I promise.

It feels weird to me that Spirit is no longer going to be the second best killer in the game. (She'll still be good, but Blight beats her out now in my opinion.) Guess I'm just used to the meta being stale.

There is still room for debate that she’s the second best killer even after the nerf. I think Blight will be now but it’s certainly still up in the air.

tbh, and this is a hot take: I think the upcoming nerfs will actually make her more fun to play. Less guess work from survivors and more skill vs skill will make for a more balanced and enjoyable experience. Sometimes with Spirit I felt I only got hits because the survivor failed a 50/50. It doesnt carry the same weight as knowing you outplayed them

I'm still deciding whether or not she's better than Hag, but she's definitely still in the top five.

It is hard to tell as we haven’t seen enough of her yet, but she’ll definitely still be at the top somewhere.

I think Spirit needed a nerf or change, yes. But not before bringing a few killers up to a level where they can compete at her level, which they didn't. So now we just have another killer becoming weaker and the buffs they are giving other killers are not substantial enough to bring some of them up to even remotely near her pre-nerf level.

They did buff Trapper and Plague, which is a good direction.

balancing killers is a very precarious and delicate task. and frankly I'd rather them take several small steps in the right way as to not repeat what Spirit was and Nurse is

uhm because now survivors can see her and it isnt guess work on their part which made her incredibly hard to fight. Now survivors have a chance against her phasing as opposed to simply being guess work.

People know where Blight is when they’re chasing. Also Demo can be heard from the other side of the map yet he’s still strong.

Right, so they can completely shut her down and always avoid a hit. Doesn’t sound equal to me.

Blight can also see the survivors while using his power too. Spirit doesn't have that ability. And thanks to the Stridor nerf she can't hear half of then either.
People complained "standing still isn't a mind game" but that's exactly what survivors can do to beat her almost every time.

Again, how is it skill when you know exactly where she is? There aren’t any mindgames involved.

Losing the capability to mind game, Spirit can only kill potato survivors now.
However, there are 80% potato survivors in US server so the nerf is okay imo.

Except now it goes from a "I give you no information" mindgame to a "I will use this information I am giving you to trick you into doing exactly what I want" which is substantially more of a mindgame than no information will ever be.

I dont think the change is a right way. It was too little time for survivors to juke their movements (~2.5sec). Its not really fix her short phase problems, it only nerf her long range phasing.

She moves at 176% with no model or red stain and has a huge lunge. Mindgames are definitely still possible

Though I disagree with those changes, as I have from the very beginning, I doubt she will just disappear. Spirit is far too popular.

I will still play the Spirit knowing that my MMR for her is pretty high (that's my only complaint)
My hot take is that guessing is a part of skill... you may guess wrong but the person you go against might guess wrong as well and vice versa... it comes down to knowing the Killer habits and Survivors habits (which long time players will know but newer players won't "yet")

Yea, they’re possible if the survivor doesn’t have headphones or at smaller loops (which every killer can mindgame). Any decent loop will completely shut her down. This is a horrible change.
For anyone who thinks i’m mad because i play her, guess again. I am a Nurse main, but I hate seeing another viable killer fall.
