You went too far this time.
DBD players have a lot to put up with.
Bad balancing, cheaters, scuffed patches breaking the game in some way every update, lack of communication until very recently, gamebreaking bugs that have been in the game for months if not years, horrible maps that are far too big for either side to properly enjoy.
But this stuff with the NFT?
No. I want my money back. You do NOT treat your players like this, and if this is what is happening with this game I NEVER want to see it again.
I would rather lose the license entirely then have to put up with this complete garbage.
This is wrong, and whether it be you or the Hellraiser IP owners who a responsible for this, it doesn't matter. This is a show of a complete lack of decency and respect for your players and consumers.
Be ashamed and be better, or I want nothing to do with this game or BHVR.

Yeah, agreed. I'd rather not be able to play with or against Pinhead if it meant having to deal with ######### NFTs.

Amazing, all these years of such a unique game made iconic thanks to it's amazing roster of horror classics, despite it's MANY flaws and poor handling.
Just to be burned away in an instant with such a massive insult to both the players and our planet. I want nothing to do with whoever decided this, and if this is what it takes to have Pinhead, they can keep him. Take him back, I don't even need a refund, I don't want him anymore.

Has it even been confirmed that this nft ######### is actually real and made by bhvr?
2 -
It's very llkely to be fake. But it hasn't been confirmed by them yet.
3 -
If they don't deny it VERY soon, as in tomorrow at the latest or maybe monday, I'm taking that as confirmation.
1 -
I doubt they will say anything tomorrow, I think it's fake, whoever did this posted intentionally on a Friday night to have the foruns on pure chaos for 2 days and on Monday bhvr will post on Twitter " Not true lol".
3 -
Can someone explain what's going on and what I'd nft
2 -
It is very fishy because the "NFT" holders (At this point, I say scammers) say BHVR will confirm this whole thing on Monday. Monday is Thanksgiving for Canada.
3 -
BHVR doesn't work weekends. It's unlikely that we'll see anything from them officially until their office opens up on Monday.
2 -
This [BAD WORD] went nuclear on a three-day weekend with a Canadian holiday? hahaha holy crap, someone chose their timing well.

Monday is a Holiday for them. So we see something from them on Tuesday.

Someone did choose their timing really well. Except it backfired on them already

BHVR may or may not be party to a company selling some Pinhead digital art (the NFT) with BHVR's model of Pinhead, buying said NFT gives no in game benefit at all, some buyers will get the Pinhead DLC as a random bonus with their purchase.
Why this means everyone loses their ######### I don't know.

I looked it up: some other company is selling NFTs made from DBD assets, specifically Pinhead's model.
An NFT is a piece of visual media with a unique code attached. That unique code is treated as a proof of ownership over that particular art piece within the NFT community.
It also takes ungodly amounts of power to generate these codes, meaning that NFTs are likely to burn through massive amounts of fossil fuels to generate, making them extremely hazardous to the environment, and their value is entirely arbitrary.
That's how I understand it, anyway.

People wetting the bed on here per normal. Although they may have a point in this case.

They don't work weekends so I'm assuming nothing will come until Tuesday, since as others have mentioned it's Thanksgiving on Monday.
What I do hope, quite strongly actually, is that if this is fake (which I'm still holding out hope for) someone at the team is taking notes for everything and when Tuesday hits we have one hell of a lawsuit from them to look forward to.

Best timing for the rumor then. Three days of people panicking because we have no answer.
I believe nothing until it's officially said.

Here's a link
I hope it's fake, but let's be real:
This is a company that has been significantly ignorant of its users, from small things like not tackling age-old bugs to big stuff like mocking people for asking for accessibility only to then massively backpedal at the backlash and claim they've been working on it 'actually'.
I'd not be surprised. Angry and disappointed, but not really surprised.
Basically you are paying thousands of dollars (much more than the game costs with all dlcs) for a BOOKMARK that the owner might delete as they please, leaving you with nothing. All while using as much energy for that bookmark as norway uses in a month or such

Oh finally, the nuclear war of copyright is about to start.

This has nothing to do with the game, this is about NFTs being scams and contributing to climate change. Don't use the whataboutism argument.

But its been out there since September 23rd.
Which was a Thursday btw

Oh no, I saw that the original articles are from Sep 23. But like you said, it went under the radar. From what I see, it went nuclear Friday night right before a three-day weekend with a Canadian holiday (Monday is Thanksgiving in Canada). It's suspicious.
