The NFT thing feels fake....
I just can't see them doing it....I really hope I am right.

I am seeing hope that this might be faked.
But who knows honestly?
Someone on Reddit showcases that the company responsible for the NFTs are stealing artwork and logos from other companies, not just BHVR.

Hey I hope it's fake but on the off chance that it's real I'm fully prepared to dip from this game.

Yes, totally. They would never do what everyone says they are doing regarding NFT.

IT BETTER BE

I feel this....it would break my heart honestly. Despite many issues this game has, I love it. A horror fans dream come true really. But I feel like this would ruin it for me :/ I would be so upset. My god....

It's really fishy, their logo is just badly cropped boss team games logo (the company who are working on evil dead the game)
They stated that they worked with other licenses such as evil dead, friday the 13th and others despite neither of licenses never saying anything about any kind of NFT stuff

Hopefully it's fake. If it is fake though what does it say about BHVR that so many people genuinely think they would do something like this? BHVR really needs to work on their PR because right now it's way too easy for people to think "yeah, they'd do something crappy like that."

I pray to the entity its fake. I would lose so much faith in them as developers if they didn't, how can anybody be that willingly ignorant of the effects of NFTs?
4 -
Really why? What would it matter to you?

Why does it matter to you what I think?
To humor you though.
- The way the product is mentioned is there are drop events therefore this would be random like loot boxes therefore it is predatory and anti-consumer. BHVR even said they wouldn't do loot boxes of any nature when they introduced the cosmetic shop so I would personally hold that against them of course.
- There is a limited amount of 10,000 drops that artificially limit the availability of items for fans of the franchise
- The purchase method is already gatekeeping a lot of users and the availability of the rewards state it is for PC only.
If it's fake that's cool - I don't owe BHVR anything and they don't owe me anything but I sure as hell won't support a company that promotes predatory practices. Not to mention other issues I could talk about but my main issue is the potential RNG / predatory aspect of this.
As for leaks - Most of them turn out to be true because DBD has one of the most obsessive communities out there so until there is consistently false leaks / rumors I'll just put my two cents out there and accept the risk that it could or could not be real.
I don't care if someone gets upset about my opinion either. What I'm saying isn't a threat and it's more so a discussion the entire community is involved in now. If it's not happening it will at least make it loud and clear to BHVR how part of their community feels. But I suppose community nowadays is just a word we throw around to make people think they're still involved.
I'm all for this whole thing being fake because ultimately I don't want to quit this game but if it turns out to be true I'll drop this game harder than Netflix dropped BHVR.

I don't know if keeping silent means it's real. I have no idea how it works to communicate, but I don't think it's as easy as coming and say: hey! It's real/fake!
I do REALLY hope it's a fake. I don't want it to be a real thing...

Seeing how the earliest statement we are getting will be on tuesday there is no real point in worrying about it now

Can someone explain what NFT is?

copying from potassium's thread with the same question:
They are cr*ptocurrency like... well, they claim to be art, but they are more... bookmarks to art you have no control over.
It's all a massive scam.
and it's a massive scam that wastes massive non-renewable energy, thus blasting as much co2 into the air as the country of norway in several years.
as others put it:
Imagine you like the Mona Lisa. Like, REAAAALLLLLY like the Mona Lisa. You can go to a dude that doesn’t need to be in no way associated with the Mona Lisa, da Vinci, or the Louvre, hand them a boatload of cash, and in return they tear down a measurable amount of the Amazon, mulch the trees, and make a piece of paper saying “X (you) owns the Mona Lisa”. Then they hang that piece of paper in a broom closet. And that’s an NFT.
also the above broomcloset is a very specific one the person who sold you the thing can brick up whenever the like, without anything you can do about it.

This is confusing and disappointing at the same time.
I have been unhappy with BHVR's decisions since 2019, but this...this is a whole new level.
3 -
seeing how they just banned the person to first speak out against it... yeah, something is going on.
2 -
I hope it's fake but it makes me worried that behaviour are not confirming or denying it.

That post didn't get removed though, they just banned GoodBoyKaru.
I would be worried if they removed those types of posts but they haven't.

It's a holiday weekend for Canada. There's not going to be any response from BHVR until Tuesday.

True.
