They've always been this strong. The knowledge of their extreme strength just wasn't as mainstream as its become recently.

Give someone an inch and they will take a mile on both sides. There was a time when Self-care, Brand New Part, New Moon Bouqette, Instaheals and D-strike were the end all be all of things that need to be nerfed for the game to be fair. But look where we are now, I can guarantee that perks/items will get nerfed so hard that the meta will be to avoid chases all-together as survivors and just urban evade away from gens the second spine chill lights up...suddenly Spine Chill is the new OP perk that has to go...and the cycle continues.

Also Streamers make money off their "insane plays" and what have you, of-course they will complain about skillbased matchmaking since I'm sure players that "survive" in those high mmr lobbies have to bring items and meta builds in order to stay there and work in direct opposition to whatever builds/killers killers use. Hell just removing Bamboozle from my Ghostface build led to me going from 3-4k's to being lucky to get 1 survivor. The game is far too perk/item dependent at this point and needs an entire rehaul of the bloodpoint economy, items, whatever.

Anything the streamers cry about will be parroted by hordes

No one said a damn thing until the actual problems got nerfed. Salty killers immediately diverted their gaze to the next-best item, because despite the game being easier for killer than it ever has been before, they need something to blame their losses on.

I've never in my life dodged a medkit lobby or thought any differently about a player with a medkit. The things I had a problem with are gone. There are over a dozen medkit counters in this game, people just don't want to give up one of their 4 slowdown perks or pick an instadown killer.

Scott and Otz often have weird survivor centric opinions despite being killer mains, but then they go on these weird tangents where even a straight OG Killah like myself wonders what they are on. Items are fine... Like, I just can't even.

Yeah. Since SBMM go lives and lots of streamers finally get how terrible this game balance can really be.

Medkits have been incredibly OP for years, nor is this a new sentiment. The reason you are seeing it more now is to do with issue priority, not many people are gonna complain about medkits when things like keys exist (although I've always thought medkits were stronger anyway ultimately), aswell as a number of major, more impactful imbalances that have gradually been removed throughout this time, if medkits do get nerfed (which I do anticipate as for me they are OP as ######### and once investigated due to community noise, stand no chance of surviving) then you'll hear more about something else which is still likely problematic, just to a lesser state

The game is so massively survivor sided that basically everything survivors have access to in a 4v1 is op. Anything you do is x4 due to time constraints. Without a medkit, 2 survivors are stuck for the time to heal. With a medkit. One survivor is stuck for only 16 seconds to heal. Ranger medkit even less time.

Maybe this will help you sort of put it into context. In 16 seconds with a regular old brown no addon medkit. you can heal 50% of the killers progress. Imagine if Pop did 50% regression on gens. Everyone would be SCREAMING its overpowered. Yet it only does 25% of one generator. One medkit allows one survivor to nullify one killers progress. meaning 3 survivors are still progressing the game.

This isn't hard to comprehend. The problem is, every survivor player is just used to the game being SO RIDICULOUSLY in their favor, that anytime its put in front of them they're in denial. It's not that medkits specifically are overpowered. it's that the game is survivor favored and medkits exacerbate that

Medkits have always been ridiculously strong, but usually posts happen about singular things at intervals.

Medkits are insanely time efficient for survivors, and what can take the killer up to 20 seconds or more, requiring the killer to actually interact with and outplay the survivor to get the hit, the survivor can remove in like 7 seconds by holding M1 on themselves.

I am just glad that more people are talking about how busted medkits are now.

Supposedly, since key nerfs are revealed. But I can see people will complain more after CoH comes in.

Self healing has always been op.

You erase any chase or damage a killer did if they do not commit to you. (free gen time)

You do not interrupt gen progress by making someone leave a gen to heal you (free gen time)

You take longer to down the next time a killer finds you (free gen time)

Item alone isnt a problem for me, at least a single medkit. Yes I know its still strong when in a good looper's hand.

Addon is a thing, but because item can come with various rarity (such as Ranger medkit) combined with great rarity addons (that can bring up to 12sec x 3 healing) is the reason.

    Remove item's rarity.

Self-Care is one of the few balanced self-heal options. Medkits just brake the game compared to it. Healing yourself should not be quicker than someone else healing you.

When I use Iron Will + Lucky Break with a strong medkit even as solo I often get out without being hooked once. It is OP when you combine it with great perks.

Medkits are the strongest item and can be bordeline broken especially if you have multiple of them in single match. I dont want them be nerfed tho.

I like that survivors and killers have very strong stuff. Its not being used in every game so I think its fine.

Players should have options to bring strong or weak stuff, I dont like the idea of there being just one "correct" way of playing this game.

Medkits are Op and always were. It's not only they heal u faster than your teammates, but they also win time. Instead of searching for teammates and distracting them from gens, u can heal yourself in under 10 sec and keep destroying gens.

And let's say u need around 30 sec to find teammate and get healed. With medkit u can heal yourself and your teammate can pressure gens for 30 sec. And 30sec on gen is a lot.
