24 Meter Killers
I've been noticing a pattern that 24 meter terror radius Killers are getting either nerfed and getting their terror radius set to 32 (Pig and now unfortunately Deathslinger) and that most of the released Killers have all been 32 meters. Why are they slowly getting rid of 24 meter TR Killers?
(Side note: I'm not counting Trickster as he has a 40 meter lullaby)

Pig was 28m if I remember correctly and deathslinger was because of him being ranged without a lullaby like huntress or trickster

I don't know, but I don't like it.
Pig's 28 metres TR was kinda unique (Hag had it too) and should've stayed in the game. Freddy also started with a 16 metres TR which also shouldn't have been touched, and the list goes on.
It is nice to have a few killers with smaller terror radius.

32 meter terror radius on 4.6 killers just works
Anything else needs experimentation

They like the W meta and want survivors to react the moment they hear the terror radius so they can rotate to m1 another gen.

Pig needs her TR back

If they want to do that, they should shorten the TR so survivors know to respond immediately. A bigger TR creates confusion about how close a killer really is. I had one terrifying match against a Doctor on Hawkins who had maxed out his TR, so the entire map was covered by it. It just turned him into a stealth killer since his TR was useless for survivors.

Devs commented on patch update that they dislike killers being able to surprise survivors. All part of the plan to eliminate oppression for the weakest of survivors despite that they don't remain in that category for long.

32m is probably the worst for killers in terms of usefulness. Lower than that and survivors have much less time to respond, higher than that and survivors won't get much info from it. The same reason whispers is 32 meters, it's the sweet spot to detect survivors.
If people respond immediately against hearing deathslinger terror radious it doesn't matter much, he will be in range of the gun before they have made much distance, if people hear him with 32m they will start making distance/hide sooner, at least people with comms or people the value of it.

Do you have a source for this?

I'm really upset that I didn't have the game when Pig had her 28m TR
I think that different TR is a good thing... gotta be on your toes at the start of the match
The surprises is what made me like the game and the devs are slowly taking that away... that sucks

Was referenced in the devs comments regarding slinger changes. Hits without any warning (specifically about slinger) but can be seen in all killer designs.
Could be reading into it but the key line that stands out to me is the last bit; "without them getting any warning whatsoever "
"Last, but not least, we’ve increased The Deathslinger’s terror radius to 32m. The Deathslinger is the only ranged Killer that does not have a "lullaby", which meant terror radius reducing perks like Monitor & Abuse could allow you to get close enough to surprise and hit a Survivor without them getting any warning whatsoever."

Deathslinger gets an increased terror radius and the world is ending.

You are right, I knew she had a unique terror radius but I forgot if it was 24 or 28.

Completely agree, she's a stealth Killer yet she has a large terror radius...

So the devs dislike Myers and Ghostface?

Most likely due to the other changes slinger has + how his power is limited ranged stacked onto his increased TR that causes problems

He also used to have add-ons that affected his TR, specifically paintbrush
BHVR give me my old paintbrush back

They could of placed a lullaby instead of increasing the TR. In which case the increased TR is better. There are perks that reduce or get rid of the TR. Lullaby is always there.

Looking at their designs,
Myers is at his weakest while highly stealthy and grows much easier to detect the more dangerous he becomes. Survivors gotta be really bad to do well in his 1st tier, 2nd tier is just a standard m1 chase with no powers.
Seems the Ghostface design was intended to focus on exposure both ways, actual play though makes hit and run with minimal stalking more effective. Personally I think this is a result of reality vs gameplay intent the devs didn't expect.

I still don't see the point of increasing the TR, as they could easily give slinger some lullaby that's western themed, but him having an increased TR is never a good idea as that change sounds like it only punishes slinger players who don't use TR related perks, while leaving those who did use them unaffected

Oh, you shouldn't have said that, my friend.
Ah, the memories...
I absolutely loved to use RPB + M&A + PWYF + A Léry's offering.
It was basically a Mirror Myers, but stronger and way more fun to play as and against.
I want it back. I want it all back.

If your point of view is he must always be detectable, then a lullaby is the better option.
For a Deathslinger player than wants stealth, the TR increase was the better option. Even though they don't want it increased.
2 -
Because the devs don't want people using different effective strategies, like comboing a small TR killer with M&A so they can sneak up quickly. Every killer should just be the same with very little variability.

The truth they don't want you to hear. I mean... They do want you to hear, but the terror radius... Not the truth. That is classified. Only the most observant of DBD player have learned this closely guarded secret.

I think it would be great if killers had no terror radius till the first chase.
Think about it like a real horror movie you have no idea there is even a threat till it reveals itself.
Put some horror back into the game.

they make most killers have a 32 meter terror radius because they want dwight to be able to get in a locker in time.

I don't mean to barge into you two's debate but I would take the TR increase over lullaby. Huntress I get because she is lethal from a far but I honestly don't see why Trickster or Deathslinger has one as Trickster isn't that lethal from far away and Deathslinger has a short range.

Can't hurt the W meta.

Shift + W = :(
