What chapter would you like to see that's from literature?
Personally, I love the tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman in the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Who would you like to see in DbD that's from a book, poem, or short story?

How about a Macbeth Chapter? That would be awesome!

Man, that would be so cool! There's so many possibilities for cosmetics and elite skins, as well as different maps!

The characters 'Ignorance and Want' from A Christmas Carol, they could've been what The Twins were.
1 -
Hannibal Lecter.
i think that the Movie Version is great but wouldn’t quite fit DbD, but the book version of Hannibal seems better fitting!
3 -
I didnt even think of Dr. Lecter! I do agree, his book version seemed much scarier. I found it interesting that he had 6 fingers on his left hand; poly something lol.

Dorian grey. The mans face could age as the survivors interact more and more with his painting. Starts as a humble noblemen by the end of the game, looks like a tattered beastial man.

Part of me wonders about a Goosebumps chapter sometimes
It's not exactly like the most horror of horror but it's still a fun series of books

Polydactyly. Blight has is actually but probably because of the blight serum mutation on not born with it.
And Anthony Hopkins Hannibal is very scary. But it’s more psychology scary and thus doesn’t quite fit DbD. The show version or book version do seem fitting better, as they have some cool chase/direct ‚fighting‘ scenes.

And the show version has Hannibal in some really nice suits, so there's plenty of room for cosmetics.

Also Hugh Dancy as Will Graham for survivor!

YES! OMG I would love to see that!

Candyman, obviously.

Very true....When it comes to horror R.L Stine is like Stephen King but more friendly for younger audiences (Such as not dropping any cuss bombs) but Stine is still considered a master of horror

Dracula.
Although, I would prefer Christopher Lee's film adaption.
3 -
The Mask of Red Death. Kinda close to the plague though. Be a cool skin for her I suppose.

Wouldn't feel right without the hell horse though, but it would be cool.

Moby-Dick

- Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde. A killer that alternates between two completely different modes of play in a single body. Maybe Jekyl is intelligent and has bonuses on tracking and sabotaging generators and such while Hyde is a brute that can break pallets quicker than normal killers, something along those lines.
- Dracula. Anything with abilities themed along the classic vampire would be kind of cool.
- Medusa. A killer that survivors suffer increasingly bad penalties the longer they look at her. (Maybe progressing from aura blindness to oblivious to moving and acting more slowly to eventual temporary paralysis.) A killer that survivors have to be cautious looking directly at while also trying to evade in a chase could be kind of cool. 😄

Dracula. Definitely Dracula. He's definitely a horror Icon. And he's public domain. So is Van Helsing. Wonder why they haven't done it yet.

I'm not sure if this counts for what you're asking but I want a siren type of killer. Those mythology mermaid creatures that are told in old stories.
1 -
Medusa sounds neat
2 -
Maybe someone like Cyclops or even Medusa..where you could possibly freeze or slow down if you look her direction too long....the Kraken...among others.

Any of the Great Old Ones or, lesser known story, The Ruum.

There's alot of tales about Wendigos in the forests, i'd go with that
But i'd really like a Pirate killer too

Probably The Shining. Other than that idk

The Monster of Frankenstein

The Other Mother spider-like thing from the Coraline novellas.
Her mori can be removing and sewing buttons in survivors eye sockets.

Lovecraft has a lot of cool creatures in the universe, though I don't know how well they could be put into a game with the descriptions being quite open to interpretation.
Rawhead Rex from Clive Barkers short story could be great; I read a graphic novel when I was younger that had a terrifying design for it, but the movie one was sad in comparison.
I'd really love to see something like the Jabberwock from Alice; some kind of American McGee design would go great in DbD I think!
I haven't read the book but how about Grendal or its mother from Beowulf?
Ringwraith or Dementor from Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter?
Memnoch the Devil from the story by Anne Rice?
If we count things like comics\manga\graphic novels as literature then there are probably quite a lot of great options :)
Awesome thread! <3

H.P lovecraft tentacle summoner I wanna scream nyaa while i get tentacle spanked
2 -
Dementor could be good as paragraph or maybe release Harry potter with curses for killers like reduce speed on that area by 5%
The last part was a joke.

Def something from Stephen King! 🤩

I want some Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty action.

Dracula, Frankenstein, Pennywise. Yes they have films, but they are inherently literary characters.

I don't think there's a baseball bat big enough to bonk you, jeez...

Anything from the Divine Comedy. 8 layers of hell there has to be something of use in there right?

A Faustus based killer could be interesting, one with a strong baseline which survivors can negate by taking 'deals'.
