Good loopers look behind them, hug loops tightly and they beeline between tiles.
Other clues are seeing someone vacuum pallets, fake window vaults, and take some tight fast vaults (textbook example is at shack window waiting inside, although it's not a difficult one).

If the survivor starts chaining filler tiles into stronger tiles, they are a demon and should be left immediately unless you're on an S tier killer. Example: there is a long wall jungle gym, a filler pallet (car tile, rock tile, etc), and shack. Instead of playing each one individually, it's one giant tile to them. You loop one way around the car, they vault the jungle gym window. You vault the jungle gym window, they vault shack window. You loop around the window side of shack, they run all the way back to the long wall jungle gym. You chase them around that jungle gym, and they're back at the car pallet. You've burned 40 seconds and they have yet to use a pallet.
Those players are super rare. Usually at least 3000 hours before they see the map as one big tile rather than individual tiles. But yeah...just leave them. It's not worth it.

It's simple.
If you are having fun while chasing a survivor, they are terrible at the game.
If you want to uninstall while chasing a survivor, they are good at the game.
