Let me get this straight
So people are starting to talk about this NFT conspiracy of how BHVR is locking Butterball and pinheads voice behind this currency and how it’s exclusive to that?
something is not right this doesn’t add up. BHVR would never make any exclusive skins on any other website except the main game. Also this account about NFT was created just at the same time Pinhead came out and now all of the sudden it’s getting attention? Shouldn’t it have been established months ago?
This feels like a huge fake and we’re all being bamboozled hell you guys are making BHVR look like the main villain but they could be the victim just like us.

BHVR may be victim to this rumor BUT their actions have caused people to have such little trust/faith in them that rumors like this are believable. They need to work to gain back the trust of their community so people aren't so quick to accept rumors like this could be true.

That would make a lot of sense. A good troll (which if this one is a troll, IS a good troll) only starts ######### when the pans already hot. A troll can't make a pan hot, it already needs to be caked in controversy before they can fan the flames. With trust in BHVR fading very rapidly at the moment, this would be a trolls opportune moment.

The DbD community is low-hanging fruit on a good day. This is coming on the heels of the Stranger Things loss and the fate of Pinhead's voice lines being unknown. The community is low-hanging fruit doused in gasoline holding its own match right now.
There are so many legit reasons to be upset with BHVR, I get annoyed at this kinda stuff because it gets people upset about non-issues, distracting from the real problems in the game.

Basically there’s a rumor that BHVR is working with a bad company called NFT which is supposedly harming the environment. And BHVR is locking the Butterball Legendary skin and Pinheads voice lines behind a NFT currency so you have to pay $200 dollars of NFT currency just to get pinheads voice unlocked.

Everyone is hoping that this is fake, otherwise it will be very disappointing.
As I've said on a different thread, I've been unhappy with BHVR's decisions since 2019. Everything they have done and changed ruined the game for me.
But NFTs? This is a whole different level.

Anyone with half a brain can tell that the "I CAME" line triggered a bunch of Karens and they sued BHVR for sexualizing violence.
They can't talk about it because they're afraid the DbD community will harass whoever sued BHVR and give the Karens more ammo to be scumbags against BHVR.
If it was licensing issues we wouldn't HAVE Cenobite.

Its BHVR. They think they can do whatever they want. They just want money. They never cared about the players, the community, nothing. Since it gives them money they are happy. It has always been like this, it will be forever be like this. I've just accepted this and I'm moving on.

Not true they always cared about us they did great changes to the game. But this! They better have a way to get out of this. They have 3 options.
- Remove Pinhead from DBD, this will make it so there’s no more NFT license and it will be gone
- Shut the NFT down and don’t work on it but that would mean going back on the contract
- Steam Bans DBD from the store and the game will die

Yeah, I hope they go for option 2 here in the best case scenario. 1 if that doesn't work.
As angry as I am, I don't want my favourite game to die...
There has been another post about Steam potentially removing DbD for this; but I think the overall con-census from this, is that because BHVR has worked with another company that holds the rights to this NFT "thing" and that the NFT doesn't give out exclusive content - then it won't. This is what I gleaned from reading through the comments of other forum members though; so I can't be certain.
Sorry, I wish I had something more concrete to give you but understandably everything's all up in the air at the moment.
Maybe we'll get our answers soon...
I'll ask it in the QnA for you if it hasn't been done already.

rotten form. bhvr, might i suggest not bending over backwards for greedy irrelevant boomers and having some respect for your product and what you have created? you are the ones responsible for the hype around horror these days, not them. start acting like it.
there's a reason we care about smash bros reveals, because getting in is a mark of honour. if getting into dbd allows people to do whatever they want with your game (netflix pulling content) or your reputation (these people making NFTs) then it's not worth signing these terrible contracts any more.
do better, be better. we would play this game without the crossover content because it's fun. don't screw it up by fixating on the wrong things.
