F for Deathslinger
All the feedback for him was worthless as it seems. I am not even suprised, I was expecting this. Sad.
Anyway, it was good time while it lasted. Welcome to my personal "Not fun to play" killer tierlist.
Note: I don't complain that he is much weaker now (even tho he didn't deserve it), I complain that he is MUCH more unfun and clunky to play.

Well same as PTB was but this time they "rebalanced" (still it is nerf in terms of gameplay) his movement speed add-ons while scoping to something like 1% and 2,5% (from 5% and 10% depending on the rarity) if I am not mistaken.

All those huge paragraphs of feedback were literally worthless. They shipped all of his changes and just nerfed some addons to add more salt to the wound.

Is everyone forgetting about the buffs? He moves faster when aiming, he breaks the chain faster and he got a lot of his addons buffed. He didn't even really get nerfed all that hard, he can still shoot in 0.4 seconds and his terror radius is really quiet so the increased terror radius doesn't matter. In fact it will help deathslingers who use starstruck and infectious fright.
Give it time killers will adapt. He was an A tier and I don't see anything making him drop.

Perfect description of the changes. It's the billy situation again, billy too is still strong but people don't play him since he isn't as fun anymore.

Because the devs already decided they know what's best for Deathslinger, a killer who wasn't over performing and was largely played by a small dedicated fan base.
It just shows if you complain about something enough, the devs will nerf it without actually taking a moment to consider how the killer is played.

32m terror radius, massive delay (comparitively) on going into/out of ads, faster movement while ads (so still zone people out just while staring at them), less ungodly stun when breaking chain on someone, instadown addon is actually usable (if you actually manage to land the shot on someone with how sluggish it is now) + some other addon changes that aren't really pertinent to me
my core list of interest: 32m terror radius on 110% 'ranged' killer / massive qol nerf, gun feels miserable now / normal chain break stun + usable instadown addon is nice but the first two are instant dealbreakers, so..

Add-on - Wanted Poster: Decreased movement speed while aiming to 2.5% (was 10%)

Oh ok. Still very dumb changes by them. His add ons arent that good overall and now they nerf two of his actual good add ons.

The only thing they could change is his movement speed but that would make him even more oppressive in a chase as he already is.
Deathslinger is a missconcepted killer, both on paper and in practice. No matter what they do, he will always be hated (or he would becomes irrelevant at all)

can you in fact confirm the presence of your cognition hello yes hi, we're talking about.. shoot, ssssslllllooowwwwwllllyyyyyyy reel in if don't miss/get screwed by environment (which includes other survivors) --> send them speeding off away as you reload with a massive slowdown --> shift w gamers --> shift w gamers --> shift w gamers --> shift w gamers --> shoot, sll-- nope dead hard --> reload with a massive slowdown --> shift w gamers --> shift w gamers --> shoot, ssssssllllloowwwwwwwlllllyyyyyy reel in if don't miss/get screwed by environment (which includes other survivors) --> get a down and a sense of pride and accomplishment as your massive slowdown reload finally doesn't matter for now this, we're talking about this guy correct? and not nurse or blight who will just clap you in ~20 seconds if decent, the former ignoring just about everything you can do except move weirdly/move weirdly out of los/dead hard

Where did i say any of this? And what has this to do with Huntress or Trickster?
I am not starting another conversation about how Deathslinger is/was in a chase, we milked this topic way too much. But it is obvious that the devs decided to remove his quickscope and therefore his faking ability - for an obvious reason.
If you dont mind, tell us how you would have changed Deathslinger so he is actually fun for both sides,- or at least for the majority of players?

by bringing up oppression when there's substantially more oppressive killers including the two actual ranged killers that can shred you in seconds if they catch you out in the open
where deathslinger just boots you out of the round instantly apparentlythat DON'T give you a massive 32m heartbeat of their proximityyou don't make deathslinger fun for survivors without taking say the 'spirit fun' route by giving them radar detection in phase so she can get clapped by pallets + completely and utterly evaded when blind like any other killer, and deathslinger is already completely powerless over pallets/some obstacles to secure a down and tends to get the short end of reel bodyblocks so he's already got a lot of that capacity to be screwed over by the power rangers
if you think it's possible to make getting shot by a gun with the slowest projectile in the history of the world (same as hatchets i've heard lol) and then moby dicked very very slowly fun for the survivor, i have some news for you, it isn't, it never was and never will be, and i guarantee you being followed in ads while still losing distance and getting zoned out is fundamentally no different to instashots just that survivors will be triggered less by some deathslingers spamming ads constantly, it just feels awful for the killer player in question

Take the decisive strike method of rebalancing. Hold off on making changes to the killer/perk untill the team can come up with an actual meaningful fix that creates unique appeal that differentiates himself from other killers. Fixes his core weaknesses whilst improving counterplay.
There were plenty of suggestions listed in feedback. There was plenty of community input expressing his issues and why current slinger plays horribly. Bounty systems, exposed effect base kit, Increased capacity, Reload on successful hit, so many ideas.
Don't sit there like a lemon going what could they do impossible to fix we were firing off all sorts of idea's long before the ptb was even anounced.
