I don't remember the devs disabling Hex Perks when unreachable totem spots were found. Why should they do it now with boons?

I think it has more to do with crashes then just spots where totems can't be broken. Usually they disable the maps for spots, like dead dawg.

If survivors can bless then they can cleanse. Killers have larger frames preventing them from reaching some totems.
I'm sure circle of healing was disabled due to crashes than unreachable totems though.

Considering how many maps apparently have uncleansable spots, this would leave us with very few maps.

It's not disabled for me.
And there's still a lot of totems spots on lerys that cannot be cleansed by survivors. Just earlier I got one that was ruin. So when is lerys/hex perks gonna get disabled?

Actually, Lery's Memorial Institute map offering is supposedly also going to be getting killswitched, along with a few others.
This information is according to an outside source, though, and hasn't actually occurred yet. OP has jumped the gun.

BHVR would go down the road of least impact. Disabling a map is the best option. They would disable perks if its breakjng the game. Over in the bug section there are reports of crashing when healing with a boon totem.

And here we see how uninformed you are. The fact that the totems become uninteractable after a survivor has turned it into a boon totem is the issue and not that the totems cannot be interacted with at all.
What's even worse with the fact that a killer cannot snuff certain totems is that it was a known issue by the devs before the PTB launched.
And the reason for disabling the perks is probably more related to the crashing. And they are not disabled for me.

He means there have been countless issues with uncleansable totems in the past, and not a single hex perk has ever been disabled. Survivors just had to deal with it. But when it's the killers who are in trouble, THEN they demand the problematic perks to be disabled. That is exactly what is called a "privilege" by definition.

1. BHVR didn't have a way to disable perks back then. They do now. The killswitch is a brand new addition to the game.
2. You don't need to disable the perk for uncleansable totem spots; you disable the map. They're disabling the boon totem perk for crashing the game.
3. Maps have been getting disabled a lot recently, and some of those may have been due to uncleansable totem spots.
There have been plenty of times long back before they started disabling maps a bunch when survivors found areas on the map where they were untouchable and killers just had to deal with it. There are a million problems in this game that both sides have just had to deal with. Neither side is special.

I think it's because they are totem spots that KILLERS can not snuff, I don't believe there are any current uncleansable hex totem locations.

No it's not. You have to restart the game for the kill switch to take effect. I haven't restarted the Switch since the perk was disabled, so it's still up for me. However, my friend had to close the game at one point (PS4), and when he restarted the perk was disabled.

Apparently you need to restart the game for kill switch to work. I'm on ps4 and it's still up for me because I haven't restarted. 😂
