Thank you to killer mains that are still playing this game
We know the deck is stacked against you even more with this patch.
Some new fun things killers have to deal with:
Unstompable boon totem locations on maps that are still in circulation such as lerys.
Hackers running no hit detection or lag switching mods.
Some addons for killers not working correctly (or yay the pig nerf) .
All the reasons playing killer are stressful🤣( the usual gen rushing, map sizes, bad rng with looping tiles (especially the farm).
Long mmr lobbies (which hopefully are better right now with so many mikaelas playing).
Just wanted to convey thanks for a thankless role.
Any other positive messages people want to add?
Edit: please play both sides of dbd...you make yourself a better player and can get some perspective from both viewpoints.

I've not been able to play at all today.
Infinite loading screen on all of my Killer matches except for two.
In those two were two Crossplay-symbol hackers who crashed my game.

People need to play both sides in order to understand the game a bit better. That would cut down on the amount of stupid threads and whining we have around here. I play both equally.

What a nice, positive message!
I'm 50/50, and would recommend people give both sides a try. It'll certainly help both become better at the game and see what both sides face.

Playing after this patch update has been a breeze for me as killer, even with the boon totems. I don't know if it's the long survivor queues or what, but I am actually getting extremely chill survivors that are easy to play against instead of the usual high MMR full teams of DH/IW on every survivor playing efficiently. I'm 12-hooking left and right while playing around with new add-ons and perks and stuff.

Really all I've seen is stick to gens at all costs 99 the gate and then make boom boom noises to try and get free points because we all getting like 15k at the end of the match.

I play 20/80, mostly Killer. Thanks for the message- I'm taking a break for the foreseeable future because of the NFT screwup, but its nice to know some Survivors don't want me to hook myself.

P.S. Once you realize the game is balanced so that getting 1-3 kills per game is the median result, and therefore the exits will be open most games even if you play as well as the survivors do, it gets rid of that feeling that you somehow "lost" if the survivors finished the gens. Them finishing the gens get two of them dying is basically a draw.

I tend to agree that killer variety does make it a more interesting role.
Yeah I used to think it was my playstyle but it is up to the survivors to make mistakes if a killer ever Hope's to get multiple kills.
I still think mmr should be based on hooks not kills...takes more skill to get multiple hooks than a lucky noed down and kill.

I wouldn't be opposed to the rating system being based on hooks on a given survivor with a kill counting as 3 hooks. It would be a bit more nuanced than the all other nothing escape-vs-death rating.
That being said if they did that it would be important that any kill count the same as being 3 hooked since there are killers and builds that are geared more toward slugging survivors than hooking them right away. Slugging all the survivors and getting 4 kills that way is just as valid a way to win as hooking them all 9-12 times so it really shouldn't count against you in the rating system if you win that way.

I got my Series S at GameStop for like 350 give or take few months ago and ever since I have had no issues with anything. Easier to find and cheaper than X and runs fantastic. Mine is digital tho because I don't play discs anyhow.

Also, add the killer can see the light orange gens and color blind killers cant distinguish between light orange and yellow and Discordance is basically useless.

Series s is a cute little thing. For its price it's great I think. The RE update made me bite the bullet and I'm happy with the little guy. I avoided it forever because it wasnt top of the line but I think itll age better than Xbox One...probably.

I stopped caring about kills and have had a lot more fun just memeing around on killer. Like sure, soemtimes I have a good game and it's like "heck yea" but even if I'm getting stomped and survivors are tbagging at every stun, it's hard to get mad cause like, we're all just having fun.
Also the plague changes are sick (ba dum tiss)

I enjoy playing survivor too, but I find the killer role way more engaging and fulfilling overall. Plus, my killer queue times are always way faster and more BP.

Since it was revealed that SBMM is a failure and a joke I've been just not caring anymore. I just play random crap and mess around for my own amusement.
All it takes is one Map offering and I seem to tilt instantly and immediately swap to SWFgorgon or Engineer Fang Pinhead and then call it a day.
Playing Mikaela has been so much more fun lately :(

In the end, the game cannot exist without players for both roles so it's always good to extend some gratitude to the other side. Thanks to OP for making a post to remind us all of this. :)

I'd really prefer a Series X but they are talking about it not ending until 2022.

The difference between my Series S and my Xbox 1 are massive. I went fromdrops/lag every 10-30 seconds to 0. It's like your playing a whole new game. Worth it I promise.

Tbh I forgot physical games exist...all my 360s and xbox one have had their disc trays fail on me.

I am not a Killer main, but I try to play the game for both roles. I dedicated the last couple of days to finish all Survivors challenges for this reason. I tried to get the Killer challenges done, but nope... I get one toxic team after another one, gen-rushed to oblivion, the Boon totems make it difficult to track people (although this is the least of my complaints) and then I get a down and I'm swarmed by Survivors with flashlights.
My questions are... where are these people when I play Survivor?? and Why do I keep getting these teams even with Killers I rarely use??

It's less stressful for me now because my win condition is to get my daily/challenge done. I even have fun. I like to vomit on people. (Out of context, I feel it's pretty weird to read. Lately, I played more Plague than other Killers.)
Thanks for the Killers who play the game for having fun. I was against a pretty good Blight yesterday, it was very fun! My random teammates and I died, but man, I prefer to be sacrificed each time if all my games were so fun. There was no "gen rushing", no camping, no tunneling, but both sides did well. The Killer outplayed us and it was well deserved.

Yeah they are digital only (no disc drive) the faster loading times on everything make it worth the purchase.
