Why can survivors body block the hook when killers can't?
Just had a match where I was body blocked in front of the hook by a survivor and couldn't get the hook. So why can survivors do this when killers can't?

Killers can hit the survivor. Survivors can't hit a killer. You could just stand in front of a hook and guarantee a kill.

for me body blocking makes no sense, specially when every single killer can manhand the survivors with one arm.
Killers should be able to push them away, sure, killers should be slowed somewhat but never fully blocked as its just ridiculous

You can as the killer they can't go through you just like you can't go through them. You can also play as Bubba and use your chain sawnwhen doing this it's called facecamping and otsnvery effective and very prevalent

It is so far from guaranteed, it's not even funny. You can just run up and unhook as survivor, and fake it out if you need to, but it's completely free because the game refuses to give the killer a grab. Have 2 or more people run at the hook, and it's pretty much guaranteed that the hooked person gets off, because one will unhook and the other will body block.

So? Just hit the unhooker or bodyblocker and down them shortly afterward. No need to go after the person who was just taken off the hook, chances are they have BT applied to them anyway.

You can unhook from any direction as survivor. The killers should also be able to hook from any direction. I don't have a problem with bodyblocking on the way to the hook but you should not be able to block the hook once the killer gets there just by standing in font of it.

Prompt shouldn't be blocked, but rather just push any survivors out of the way

Good. ######### you killer campers. I'll answer your question by asking another. If survivors get penalties for camping, why can't killers get penalized too?
Like slowly blind the killer camping hooked survivor. Once they are fully blind, survivor is auto unhooked and undetectable for 20 seconds.
Or for camping, killer refunds the hook count, the survivor is freed and reverse that hook count too.

As killer you could bodyblock the hook... . You can bodyblock windows, doors, chests. Just survivors don't hook each other, so there isn't really a point to bodyblock the hook.

You can block the hook on some indoor maps, Raccoon city with Twins is really fun to do this, for Twins...

Like I said other killers mean the survivors have a chance and that you could mess up. Pick Bubba and if you have any playtime in this game yourngonna be able to camp like a champ

If there are two people going for an unhook, the others will body block the one you didn't unhook. Assuming they have BT. Which the unhooker probably does in a coordinated hook bomb. If anything, going after the unhooked is your best bet if you notice they aren't going for a body block as it implies they did it without BT. But I guess they know that you know and can make it look that way to get you to waste your time. Idk. It is rarely a situation that favors a killer. Rofl.

Killers can bodyblock in some useful ways, although admittedly in rarer circumstances. But it is an asymmetrical game. E.g. block survivors from unhooking in corridors (Hawkins, RPD). Bodyblock survivors in a corner with Hillbilly/Bubba. Bodyblock survivors trying to escape through the exit gates when the EGC timer has almost ran out and they're healthy.

And as the killer you can then just hit the survivor and hook the one you're carrying. You've also got 2 survivors (minimum) not working on Gens, and another injured survivor.

I don't care that you can't bodyblock the unhook, but I really hate how hard the game prioritises hitting the person being unhooked over the one unhooking. Feels like a 1 degree cone where it will actually accept that you're behind the survivor and not swinging all the way around them.

their hitbox is pretty large and takes priority ye, you can also be pulled into hitting them by autoaim
just wait for unhook hits, they're stunned in place for long enough to walk around and guarantee the hit before unhooker can move anyway (though it'd certainly be nice to deny them more of the speed boost for hookbombing in your face)

Survivor carrying speed is the same for 110 and 115% killers. So your build would work fine for either.
Honestly I would remove starstruck from the build as you would get more value from Mad Grit. Also just running starstruck will more then likely prevent people from trying to body block.

I would also like to say that, the killer can block windows, pallets, yadda yadda, but that doesn't prevent the survivor from doing the objective, as in gens. The survivors blocking the hook prompt does.

Bodyblocking is fine. Especially when you get an insanely alrustric team where 3 of them will take a hit to stop you hooking the 4th. It's a pretty good deal imo.

I think body blocking is okay, except when the killers "hook" prompt is disabled due to a survivor under the hook. The when you down another the same thing happens, yadda yadda. Very annoying.

Heh, beat me to the punch. As killer I love when the players try to body block me. They are now not working on gens and I am going to get some free hits and possibly down a few of them.

When yo have survivors swarming the hook so you cant hook someone there is nothing you can do unless you use certain perks.
It has nothing to do with skill. Outplaying someone is using skill.
Bodyblocking with all the meta crutch perks available is not skill at all.

You're not listening. Whoever you hit first, the other survivors will body block them. You can't down them after because they're getting blocked.

Back in the day, you could unhook survivors from all directions, only the front. And killers would regularly stand in front of the hook and that survivor would have no chance of escaping.

I already said I'm talking about current day unhooking. Nothing is guaranteed because even when it's just 1 survivor the game will take away your grab.

It works the same on all killers all killers move at the same base speed of 92% when carrying a survivor then agitation makes them 110

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet but fyi a survivor can only tank one hit cuz then they lose collision and don't block the prompt anymore

On a technical level, Survivors can interact with the hook on 3 different sides. front, left side, and right side. Killer can only interact with the hook on one side, the front. You can't block every side as a killer but survivors can.
On a level of why not let killer body block? They would be able to face camp like no tomorrow and prevent a player from being saved. Sure it wastes time but it's just frustrating for the one being camped.
And why can survivors body block, you have a weapon. Use it.

Killers get a hefty BP penalty for camping, even when we aren't actually camping (you've decided to follow me en-masse to hook and now we are playing grab-ass around it). Plus, BHVR have said that they have a plan coming to further stop facecamping.
Also - this is such a good example of a whataboutism that I need to frame it and hang it on a wall somewhere.
Your solution is silly, as all survivors would just cluster around the hook and it would be impossible to get them.
