I'm not a master of Hag but I believe the general theory is to set up a web of traps. You want to put them at choke points, objectives, and common loops. The idea is that once a survivor is inside your web it's hard to escape. I'm sure a true Hag player will correct me though.

You win or die by your traps as hag. Do not do long or lengthy chases. If you don't get them soon after a trap has triggered, redo your web and go back to guarding your area.

- Don't make the mistake of wandering around without peppering traps along the way
- Remember that you can use your power offensively as well as defensively, you can use it to trap loops mid-chase and limit a survivors options
- If a trap gets triggered, you teleport to it but can't get a hit - reset that trap then continue chasing. This will stop traps going to waste and will make sure you always have some available.
- Try to think ahead of survivors, place traps in common escape routes then approach from the opposite angle to push them towards the traps. Also place traps below drop down points, these are almost always guaranteed hits even against survivors with balanced landing.
- Invest in Franklins if you see survivors with items as many items can severely counter Hag - mainly medkits and flashlights.

Bring Corrupt Intervention

sounds like trapper's way of playing aswell.

why dont you take chases? im guessing its cuz ur 4.4m/s and that setting up web and keeping it set is priority
0 -
so a camswing trap and a grab trap? thats a good idea i never though of
0 -
damn, this is fairly details, thanks alot. this makes a lot of sense aswell

will do!

uhhhhh. just place 1? lol. why place 20. plus the limit is 10.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend Michi's channel, he's one of the top Hags in the game. And he also has a really interesting Hag Trap guide that goes into both basic and advanced strategy regarding traps.

You're welcome! I play a decent amount of hag from time to time because I find she's a refreshing change of pace compared to most other killers

i actually watch him and his hag guides. they are SO Good but i want to see the community's tips aswell.
2 -
facts, i found nurse quite easy to learn. i have 17 total days played and am already being called a god nurse so i wanted a change of pace, aka hag. i got a few 4ks as her and she seems easy but also hard and theres more than meets the eye
1 -
It all depends on how you want to play her
1) You could play defensively... Trap an area (3 Gen)
2) You could play offensively... Trap around where Survivors like to travel
3) You could play aura reading... Trap both around a 3 Gen and around where Survivors like to travel and play around the Survivor tripping your Traps.... and use aura reading addons

i think all i can use 1 and 2 together in different stages maybe? beggining i can use the defensive, mid game il go more offensive, then the aura reading i dont think il use
0 -
Yea... you can but again it's all just depends on the situation that presents itself
I mean that's what I do

I think a good strat is to place at least 4-6 traps as you cross the map through the middle.
Then make a more webbed up area on the map, and then have at it from there.

No limit exists for a true Hag main

im perceptive, great at predicting. so yea

noted! how does this help though

Then there you go

Corrupt is a very good perk on most killers, but on Hag it's a gamble. I got better result with Hag when I dropped that perk.

Very glad to see a potential Hag main let me help you out
1.You don’t need perks or add ons to win. Hag is that strong so you don’t need to grind another character for a certain perk. Or add-ons
2.Don’t put all your traps around the hook. Lame strat and a shame to her potential.
3.Don’t need to worry about maps. There isn’t a map where she is guaranteed to loose. Haddonfield of all maps is great for Hag
4.Don’t make your traps obvious or else survivors will react in time and escape the lunge range. Hide them on dark ground. Or around corners. Put them in unexpected spots.
5.Don’t just traps loops or else they’ll just take a hit and avoid the loops, trap areas where they’ll run away and areas they’ll move through
6.Only chase if it corrals them to your traps Hag can’t chase number one killer in dropping chase.
7.Have fast reactions a trap can be triggered at any moment
8.Slug if need be to get snowballing since if you pick up someone they’ll begin to disarm your traps
All I got for now ask if you want more tips glad to help

It lets you set down your traps, and if place right they can allow you to have a dangerous part of the map locked down. Meaning survivors will just keep getting hit.

A little while ago I wrote a guide on how to play vs hag and a little about how to play her. I'll link it here. I hope it helps!

The basement must never be left untrapped, become one with the basement

Franklin's is a really good perk on Hag. Not only against items, but you can USE those items to create choke points.
Most survivors will want their item back. If a survivor drops their item, trap it.

I used to play hag a lot and something I had to learn the hard way quite a few times is NEVER put traps directly under pallets.

Why Corrupt could be bad for Hag is because the most important thing with Hag is during the start of the game you need to set up your net with traps without being spotted. So it's probably better to lose two gens for this rather than having no net with traps and a survivor who just watches you trapping something, then running to the edge of where traps goes of and then straight to a loop. Hag is very weak whithout her net.
Basement as you see in Michis vids you can put a trap behind the little wall at the end of the stairs making the trap hard to see and harder to destroy with flashlight. Basement Hag is strong and even if survivors gets out they have other traps to worry about so Agitation is always a nice perk to use on Hag, just like NOED, Franklins, MYC, STBFL, Monitor, Nurses, Sloppy for example. With Franklins you just trap the item so if the survivor goes back to pick it up injured they are in trouble, that is why that perk is so strong on Hag.

I Will become a hag main, and a nurse main. ill main both because i like them both, and i like killers with skill and more than meets the eye with their kit. with that being said. lemme get on to my response
- This Is Insane.
- This is stupid, and I never do this. I have always only placed 1 and maybe 2 if there is a loop nearby
- Hag is good on Haddonfield? the most survivor sided map? (I know huntress is as well). This killer is actually insane.
- This is a very good tip, and I will for sure use this to my advantage.
- I Trap 2 loops. 3 if there is a loop near a hook, or I will trap a loop in a chase to lower their options. I rarely fake setting traps and it works like a charm.
- yeah I have found out this. I lost 4 gens in a chase once. I never chased as her again. if I don't get the hit when I teleport, I wont chase unless they are close enough.
- I am very perceptive and my reaction time is insane. I have this under control.
- This tip sounds insanely helpful.
Thanks so much for the tips, i may ask for some tips as nurse aswell in my next post. even tho im already really good as nurse. i want to see people's ideas on how nurse should be played.
with that being said. thanks so much!

^ this here. Michi introduces different perk set ups and addons. He's highly consistent in his gameplay (for what he shows).
This is also a really good list of stuff for Hag. Also, if you watch some Michi, you will notice that he takes advantage of what I guess I'll call "camera pull" with the survivors. Hag's body will pop out of the traps and the survivor's camera will pull. Once you realize this, you as Hag can place traps in weird corners that will disorientate the survivor's direction and can help you either get a hit or re-corral them a different direction.
There's a lot of Hag hate in the community from the survivor side, but a good Hag player you go against is actually really fun. Watching someone like Michi work is really fun to see because there's not a lot of hag players.

Yeah nothing more dreadful then facing a baby Hag

Although with the amount of advice here you probably have more than enough, i'll still add my two cents.
Think like a survivor, that sounds stupid but it works amazing on hag. Other killers need to stay in the mindset of a killer to stay effective, not hag however. She needs to be thinking like a survivor. "Where would i go to loop myself? What is the most high traffic area? Where will survivors run?" etc etc. Then when you have this idea in your head, start trapping all the places and loops you think a survivor will be the most attracted too. When you get into this mindset you'll suprise yourself with how often you deck survivors, they never truly expect you to get into their head but when you do they just start triggering every single trap. Its glorious.

thanks! i usually implement this i made a response 1 day after i started using it. so glorious
