The miserable never ending cycle of solo Q experience.

What's the problem with solo Q in the new SBMM?

Apart from the big problem that if you get tunneled out of the game/keep the killer for 5 gens and you die the game considers it as a lost, there's another big problem imma explain later. This evening I played for 4/5 hours straight solo Q survivor, first with cross on and then off. Nothing changed, I kept finding always the same 3/4 survivors with cross off from one match to another sometimes.

This is the big problem: once your SBMM goes down to a certain level, you don't even get the chance to up your SBMM rating again: teammates go down super fast, others don't do gens, and it seems you're playing you vs the killer. For this, you can die as the last survivor, but nothing ever changes the direction of the match. You do gens, you take the killer for hours, but it's never enough.

For your skill you COULD play with other solo survivors who have 1900+ SBMM rating, but you can't, because noobs hold you hostage, for hours and hours, and the more you go down in SBMM rating the more the chance you'll go up again lowers dramatically I'd say.

I'm burn out of playing solo survivor, pls devs do something

It's really a miserable experience, you wish you could split yourself in 4 but you cannot, you can't help teammates going down faster than you can rescue and heal another survivor. As someone who plays both sides equally, playing killer is much less frustrating: yes, you have to adapt to a meta with always the same perks, tunnel/camp, but at least if you lost it's either your fault or some killers being completely underpowered like Trapper/Myers/Clown

Edit: or the game being unbalanced by itself against 4 survivors with 4 BNPs/ 4 ranger medkits with styptic agents/syringes + ds bt dh ub gen rushing to oblivion with stretched res and filters

This is the example of what completely outplaying the killer means and still losing SBMM because of noed/not being able to reach the exit gate, etc

pretty much yeah, they created an elo hell where even babbo killers 4k every time vs potato hookbombers and either getting themselves turboslugged or trying to hide somewhere with their head sticking out + moving around

my new friends have probably dragged my mmr down to this or close to it by getting me killed constantly but at least it was kind of fun lol

Yeah it's one of the obvious reasons why kills/escapes only is not a good idea. I tanked my survivor MMR to see for myself just by playing how I usually do but to a more extreme level, i.e. insanely alrustric. Going for saves against camping bubbas, or basement rescues with noed, taking protection hits for other survivors when I'm also injured, just doing my best to get the other 3 out the gate with no regard for my own well-being.

And yeah it worked, and then the results are kinda predictable. Frosty eyed wraith chases you for 10 minutes while one maybe two gens get done and then finally gets you and hits you on hook until death while your teammates crouch around the map. You can easily get yourself to this level of play in solo but I'm really not sure how you're supposed to get back out of it in solo 🤔

I didn't, I played with some people I swf with in a 4 man where we have over 10k hours combined, obviously going against much more skilled and experienced killers and escaping much more brings me back to a more manageable level when I solo again. Without that option...I think I'd be a bit stuck.

    Yep. It's miserable.

And now I have no hope of finding the hatch. I was never a hatch camper, but there is a huge advantage to the Killer when it only appears with the last man standing. Killer can run all over the map. Survivor has to avoid the Killer to look for it. I used to manage to escape thru the hatch as the last man quite a bit. But now? Killer almost always finds it first. What the hell is the point anymore.

One important thing to remember if you're trying to raise your MMR at all costs is that the last person to die loses the least amount of ranking so even if things are going sour you can try and mitigate your losses as much as possible.

Solo Q for me has been a mix of :

Teams that seem to go absolute lemming at the first hook.

Teams where half the players are obviously new and get curb stomped

Teams where I can get up to 4 unhooks, win a chase, do 2 gens and then watch my team mates aura-tbag ME at the gates

Games where i feel like crap because the killer is obviously new and getting curb stomped

So yeah, its been a mixed bag where climbing towards a half-decent team who won't leave you on your first hook, or just belly flop on the hook themselves has become very difficult.

Yep.. you can get stuck in mmr hell as survivor since the hatch doesn't count.

    jesus lol

i aura teabag my friends if they take an m1 and then get grabbed 5 seconds later after they're hooked but never heard of pubbos doing that

but ye can concur that mostly it's solo teams getting clapped doing the absolute dumbest stuff (+ one person hooked --> nobody on gens) and then sometimes killer doesn't have a chance in hell, but then there's also a coinflip chance that the survivors flub the lategame so hard that killer gets a 2-3k out of what should've been a 4e
