Cosmetic prices
I feel like the value of peoples money has went down a lot. Like each skin should at MAX be $5. Probably should be less. Some might say that's insane but it shouldn't be. You should get a lot for your extra purchases. I can get a meal somewhere for that money that is far more important than a skin in DBD but DBD skins can end up costing more for some reason. This has just become the standard and I don't think it is good. $10 per skin is outrages in my opinion. I would say make each skin like $1 or $2. Again, some might say it's crazy but I don't think it would hurt top many sales. The good thing that can happen is that people keep buying the $5 or $10 auric cell packs and they don't loose much money BUT we get more value out of our money. It is digital goods that don't mean anything and are overpriced. We just buy them because they are cool but I believe these prices in a lot of games in general should go down. There is 0 reason why 1 skin should be as much as the game basically. Why are 6 skins the equivalent to the price of GTA V?

You could buy a moon pie and a glass bottled coke for 10 cents at one time. Money is treated like ######### these days. Gas also used to be 27 cents a gallon. You could get a steel bodied used car for $600 bucks.

I agree that cosmetics are overpriced - hell, a full purple set typically costs over twice as much as the character itself, and that's pretty wacky. A legendary skin is more expensive than a 3-character DLC! I'd probably buy a skin for every survivor and killer if they weren't so unreasonable; as it is, I'll only spend cash cash on my absolute favorites and stick to shard purchases elsewhere, and even then, I'm more likely to buy a single piece than the full outfit because the prices are just so steep.
I strongly doubt they'll change it, but cosmetic costs are nutty.

Yeah I only buy stuff for my favorites as well. The only stuff I buy anymore are chapters, some rifts AFTER I already complete it, and skins for my favorite licensed characters. For example. I recently had 1500 auric cells saved up, so I bought the $10 auric cells and got the last rift after I already completed it and then got the cells back from it, then I bought the Pretty Woman, walkin' downn the street, Pretty Woman! Skin with the 2500 I had on Leatherface because I love Leatherface and the outfit. Then I saved those cells all the way until yesterday and used them to buy James since I love James. I also spent an extra $10 for the PH skin and tomorrow I am buying the Nemesis skin. Even when I kinda managed my cells to spent less it still is gonna be a ton of damn money.

Eventually, someone is going to realize that it takes roughly 35 hours of gameplay to get a single character with Shards.
Additionally, the game is $20 on PC. With all of the paid DLC (which you are obviously going to need to get the full experience) it comes out to be about $5 per character. The total price of all of the paid DLC characters is $90 and that brings the total price up to $110 if you want the DLC.
If you want the full experience immediately upon purchasing the game, it will cost $180 for all characters and add the $20 on top and the entire game costs $200.
With needing 35 hours to unlock one character and no guarantee that you'll get your perks, I'm going to say this game is way worse than launch Battlefront II whose FINAL charactes (luke ans vader) needed around that much time to unlock, the majorityof the cast was faster.

Greed. Untempered, unfettered, unwarranted greed.
The cosmetics for this game could be whipped up in an afternoon by a college student in some downtime. The more complicated ones aren't really worth a dollar, much less five or ten.
I used to delude myself into thinking "this supports the development of the game" and do it anyway - and I regret that. I've been advocating people stop buying the game, that people stop buying DLC, that people don't buy cosmetics. I've been saying so in multiple streamer's community boards, and suggest that others do the same.

See, you say the skins cost too much, that it is outrageous how much they cost, they they are not worth it, and yet..you buy them.
What does BHVR understand from this? People are buying the skins even if they are completely optional and totally not necessary to play the game, the price they chose must be a fair price for the market.

Supply and demand my friend.

I know I buy them. I can still say they are overpriced when they are.

Good thing there is a sale on right now and many of the skins can be bought for the equivalent of $2.50. That work for yall any?

No

Dbd is a fairly cheap game so that probably factors why they're so expensive. Plus I've never had a problem with skins being expensive in video games. They're not a necessity and it's better them being 15 dollars than the characters themselves

100% agree.
There are some skins I would like, but aren't buying them all at the extortionate prices.
It should be £5/$5 tops for the highest level "Legendary" skins. Everything else should be cheaper.

They are absolute rip-offs, especially for the licensed characters. Anything above 500 auric cells is an overpriced joke. You get so little value for so much money.

True, skins are expensive.. Especially in Poland (for 1 skin I need to pay 42zł and It's a lot. With that money I could buy some food or something)
I think bhvr could reduce the price in countries that aren't too rich/where the currency is weak. (Because They have an option like that, right?)

The prices are pretty insane. But people buy them anyway, so there is no incentive to lower prices.

I would make em 5€ for normal, puprles 7,80€ for purples and 10 € for those that change character app like trappers.

I buy with aurics cells very few skins and mostly when they are on discount its rare i buy a skin at full price. If there is a skin who uses iri shards i just save em.I dont get why people use it for BP I mean i get 150000 in 3 killer games with BBQ and chili

Of course you can, I'm not saying you don't have the right to complain, and I even agree with you, skins in DBD cost way too much
But as long as people buy them, from the perspective of BHVR it means that the price is fair for the market

Rather have the optional cosmetics be expensive and the actual gameplay content cheap then the other way around.
Would you be happy if they made skins max 5 bucks but the chapters increase to 20 bucks?
5 -
The game and all non-licensed content up to Legion should be free.
Change my mind.

It is true that clothes are expensive. The price is gradually increasing. The cost of a costume set is the amount remaining after purchasing one game on Steam. I thought it was nonsense

I just don't see the point in spending 10 euros min on a killer skin you cant even see them in game so whats the point i genuinely don't get it not enough is done with killer skins to make them worth that price tag at a minimum
0 -
Yeah i would use shards

I would hate that cause i learned from tf2 that making something free to play is a good way to invite toxic players who won't care about their free account getting banned.
But objectively speaking yeah it should at this point

Chapters I would say increase to maybe $10 each. I don't think they would increase to 20. But if the skins are a bigger amount of what I spend my money on sometimes such as now since all these amazing licensed skins are coming out I'd rather chapters be like $10 to $15 since I only need to buy those usually once every 3 months. Also depends on the amount of characters. 1 is $5, 2 is $10, 3 is $15.

I agree to a point. I would say overtime the older ones should become free. But someone that just came out maybe not. Maybe like a year or 2 and they are free.

I really don’t care. I’d rather it be a $10 upfront purchase (which cheap for 99% of games now a days) then $10 for 10 loot boxes which has a 1% chance of granting me a skin of the same rarity for a character I most likely don’t play. Or like some other games which charge upwards of $25 or higher for skins. DBD is pretty cheap sometimes lol

Yeah, cosmetic prices are kinda crazy, especially the legendary skins. I really wish I could stop spending money on cosmetics, but I'm an impulsive buyer so... 😐

I'd rather have cheaper chapters and expensive cosmetics than the other way around. I also buy original content with shards, so I never spent too much money on this game. The last content I bought was Hellraiser and RE, before that it was Silent Hill.
2 -
But when you finally unlock that killer you’ll get a sense of pride and accomplishment!

Even as the big SH fanboy i am, i'm not gonna spend almost 15 bucks just to play as James Sunderland in DBD.
BHVR, Konami... WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!

I can GUARANTEE that complaining about cosmetic prices will not accomplish anything.
People buy them at market price, therefore they will continue to be sold at market price.
2 -
of course most of dbd cosmetics aren't worth a single dollar, but ppl are still buying them, so...
0 -
There's no reason for them to change prices because a lot of people in DBD love complaining constantly only to shut up and forget about everything once a new Nea/Feng skin drops.
I'm not interested in buying overpriced skins to support this buggy ass game, but a lot are addicted to them, so there's no real incentive for BHVR to change anything. It's sad but it's just the way it is.
1 -
It's an investment over time deal. You buy skins as you want them and play certain characters. They're not meant to be purchased all in one sitting. If anything it promotes healthier spending. Otherwise people might overlook the total costs and spend too much. $10 is a decent amount for the quality of skins we have. Maybe that's just my opinion...

That was a goofy excuse back in Battlefront 2

its not stupid, skin prices for this game makes 0 sense. are way too expensive.

That was the joke
