Dc need to count as hooks

So I play survivor because I wanna play with friends but when play killer i wanna complete challenges one of them is hooking for different survivors but why is it when some DC's it can't count as you hooking them or something because it's always sorry didn't count as a kill or sorry didn't count as a hook.

    I'm like 53% sure I had a surv DC on hook and it counted last night

    If I'm following that logic then when a killer dc's survivors should pip.
