Thoughts on the Halloween Event This Year?
Now that we've seen the whole Rift, what are your thoughts on the Halloween Event this year? I know last year's was....disappointing to say the least.
Personally, if we are only getting two events per year (Halloween and Anniversary) then consider me extremely disappointed in the quality of both events.
But, how do you like the Event this year?

I loved the idea with the holiday archives and the reward for it. It's funny to break pumpkins))
I didn't like the fact that hooks and generators are only for offerings. It. Very. Badly. I basically don't like the idea of using offerings. It's like "make yourself a holiday yourself".

At least they took my idea of an extra rift challenge to get skins seems they are reading or just luck.

I can only compare it to the fifth anniversary, and honestly, I am a bit disappointed. I prefer having free shards and all of the cakes. I understand they didn't want to give us shards because we could just buy Mikaela, but why no BP besides all of the codes? I do not understand.
This one is more fun because crushing pumpkins is better than the one time crown grab. So there is that at least.

I like the holiday archive especialy the idea of including short stories into them. This is a pretty nice touch. Also I like that we get free stuff and both looks good. I do not play Doctor but a friend of mine does and is happy about the free skin and another friend of mine like Michaela and enjoys her free outfit.
Pumpkins are also a nice addition and special generators/hooks are a must. I would have liked it more if there were some special animations for those generators and hooks thou.
Overall this event is nice. Not a 10/10 but a solid 7,6/10. I would play this format again next year however I would like some more special animations and overall a bit more pomp and prestige for Halloween.

I like the event in general. The first Halloween-Event I played was the one in 2018. 2021 cannot compete with 2018, but it is A LOT better than 2019 and 2020.
The Archive is also great, I like the challenges and the way to get two Cosmetic-Sets for free. Pumpkins are a neat addition as well.
The only thing bothering me is that not all Gens and Hooks are event-related. This was done during the Lunar New Year-Event, and it was great. Without that, the Offerings dont really give any BPs at all, especially if you need to be on the Gen to finish it as Survivor. During the Lunar Event, you had a potential of 15k BPs when burning an Offering as Survivor and 2k BP/Hook as Killer (I dont remember if the same Hook could give multiple BP-Boni).
This is a little bit of a letdown, the only reason why the Offerings increased the number of something was because the original Event focussed on Crankers and Hooks, which did more than just giving BPs.
And MAYBE they could have given out Mikaela for free to everyone. Probably not possible since they want to make money with her, but I did not really see a point to buy a original Survivor (aka a Skin) for real money and I highly doubt that many have actually bought the Chapter with real money.

It is better than recent events or last year one for sure. It's decent I would say. Sadly I think it will prob never gets as good as the very first halloween blight event. That was so cool. Whole new objective, currency that you could use to unlock so many pieces of outfits you wanted for just doing the halloween objective + awesome skins you could earn.

They should have made HALF OF THE HOOKS AND GENERATORS EVENT ONES instead of a measly 2.
I do like how the challenges don't really interfere with the main objective too much, and 2 free cosmetics are good. But why not SPOOKY maps that show where these 2 gens are? Why not a SPOOKY Toolbox? I would like to see a lot of items on the blood web or perhaps event ADD ONS.
It's tremendously boring when you are RANK 1 Survivor playing on CONSOLE with Crossplay on against 75% TRYHARD DOWSEY/TrueTalent PC "GAMERS" that play as their life and paychecks depend on it.

I like the extra mini rift for the bp and like pumpkin smashing.
They have not learnt however that the event offerings, the seeds, should spawn at least once per bloodweb. They are more rare than mori's.
I do not like the fact that you have to actively finish a gen to get the extra bp. I work on a gen for 95% progress, get chased off, someone else finishes it, no bonus for me. It should have been like past events where you got the bonus for the gen being completed regardless of who finished it.

Its been good. I like the challenges to earn cosmetics, kicking pumpkins is cool, only thing is i dont use the tokens and would have just prefered double bp instead.
All in all, 8 out of 10 for me.

Event? Oh you mean the pumpkins and the hooks/gens they reuse every year.
They said they're cutting down on the number of events to make this one (and the anniversary) events big. They reused the Hallowed Blight menu theme and made a spherical orange with a face.

It's better than last year's event or the Anniversary event for sure
The problems I have with it is:
- Tangled generators give you bonus bloodpoints only if you were working directly on it, meaning that even if I bring an event offering, the other survivors might say "######### you" and complete the tangled gens without me getting any value from my offering
- Having 1 special gen and 1 special hook by default is nice, but the number could be bumped up to at least 2 I think
- The special time limited Halloween tome doesn't really feel like a special tome apart from the fact that you earn skins directly from it
- They didn't recycle the Pustula Petals offering from last year, what am I supposed to do with the leftover offerings?
I still prefer the 2018s events, where you had to earn a special currency to buy skins with.
This year they could have tied the currency to the pumpkin-smashing, like every time you kick a pumpkin you gain a pumpkin seed but oh well, guess I'll never complete my King of the Hooks Trapper or Foul Bile Doctor

What I like is:
- Extra rift that gives also progress towards the main rift
- Pumpkins with a trick or treat
What I don't like is:
- Hooks are getting sabotaged
- No bonus BP for you when another survivor does the event gen (why even remove that in the first place?)
- Event gens and hooks are really lackluster, they don't get your attention instantly (like, wow, this is an event gen)
- Event rift requires a certain perk, which isnt in the shrine so you need to pump out 9k shards or real money to get that challenge...
- No bloodhunt or community goal towards a bloodhunt (get x amount of pumpkins/treats from pumpkins to unlock a special event)
For me, is this is the way towards events, it feels really lazy tbh. They removed events to get a great event during anniversary and halloween and this is what we got? Might as well remove the events altogether and get some log in bonusses.
And yes, I'm entitled maybe. But they promised they would go out of their way with the 2 main events and all we got is a recycled anniversary and this event.

Oh, I forgot to mention that they made a whole new offering for the event, so all my old halloween offerings are completely useless and are left to never be used again. I have like 150 across all my characters from last year. So many wasted BP I can't use for something else.

I like what they tried to do with this Halloween event, but without a Bloodhunt it always feels incomplete.
The grind is unberable and I just want to finish P3ing my characters.

I prefer the free shards they gave last year tbh. On that event they made some full sets cost 9000 so you could buy an entire one just with these shards, or even a full character if you want. I don't like playing Doctor neither Mikaela, and the BP gain is so insignificant that it's just better to use a BPS or a Pudding/Cake instead.
Ah, I also almost forgot about the pumpkins. You know how good they are just for the fact I barely remembered about them.

I'm just scared of pumpkins now. Every time I see one and I'm playing a 110% killer, I'm just like nah, because 9/10 times i got 10 bp and 5 seconds of burgerking myers

It's fine. But it should be extended and we deserve double BP's after the game wasn't playable for a literal week.

I'd give it a 4/5, its not perfect. BP gains could of used a touch up and the event music shouldn't be in just the main lobby
But working towards cosmetics, the event Archives, and the pumpkins are all nice little things

This event is way better than last year's. I like the Halloween rift, the free skins, and the pumpkins.
The only thing I don't like is that you have to finish the event gens yourself to get points from them. There's also the issue of some killers seeing the event gens and only guarding those specific gens. Overall, it's an okay event.

Two rifts? Sure, nice!
But there's no real "event". Pumpkins do virtually nothing and there's barely any incentive to break them (10-1000 bps ain't it chef)
There should have been a global goal for breaking pumpkins OR pumpkins giving ACTUAL rewards (old cosmetic pieces/shards). That would have made the event worth it.

The rift, skins and pumpkin kicking are pretty great, what is lacking for me is more bloodpoints and the atmosphere.
The atmosphere in the lobby is good and in trials is pretty lame, aside from the pumpkin there's nothing indicating that an event is going on.
